Boars head "fresh" sliced Italian trio... Fresh?! Truly?!?! FRESH????!

Boars head "fresh" sliced Italian trio... Fresh?! Truly?!?! FRESH????! I haven't shopped here in a while cos the produce has been garbage and their meats dismal, but today we were craving a sandwich and bought this gem...(see photo) That's it! No more!!! I would expect this from the Dollar Tree store! COME ON!!!! FRESH????!

This is an older Safeway that I've been coming to shop at since 2001. Several associates are still working here since I've been coming here. On a day like today (4th of July), I can come here and pick up everything I need to prepare a meal such tacos, rice and beans. Although they have self service check out now, I still prefer to have an associate check me out. For some reason, I never feel like I have wait very long in line at this store. Yay!

O Organics cookies - mini chocolate chips & animal cookies

Clean Safeway and the isles are always tidy and organized. I also like how this Safeway is not on a big boulevard so it's a bit quieter than the one on Dublin Boulevard. And also because of that, I feel like this Safeway is also more stocked than the other, again maybe because it's typically less busy. Parking is always easy and plenty, and it's located within the same plaza as other stores such as Walgreens. I bought two bags of O Organics cookies (mini chocolate chips & animal cookies), just to try them, and they were delicious. The animal cookies were so crisp and the vanilla flavor really came through. They tasted really clean and sweet. I'm a fan. The mini chocolate chips were great too. They were perfectly bite sized, a little light and airy, yet the flavor was bursting. They made really great snack options.

beautiful delicious and reasonably priced fruit tarts and fruit topped cheesecake

The fruits and vegetables are so expensive ... I recommend sprouts super market on Dublin. Fresh and good products.

Smaller store that has the basic necessities. Parking is limited with all the other businesses in the area. Staff are friendly.

Today however, solidified my never using this store again. No shopping carts anywhere near the door, not the biggest deal as I only needed a handful of items, but left wondering if they expected customers to scour the parking lots to find one? Inside the store no hand baskets anywhere to be seen, walked down each checkout stand and no baskets there either..!! Walked up to the manager station and saw who appeared to be a manager, she was having an open heated discussion with another employee, never even looked up towards myself or the elderly man in front of me standing in front of the counter. I walked through the store to grab my items in my arms and get out of there. Stopped at the Ice cream aisle And Dryers ice cream was $8 & change which is significantly more than what Safeway is typically selling it for! Skipped that, found small packets of pickles on the end cap, grabbed one, and went to the checkout. I asked the checkout woman, who can only be described as "sullen", where the hand baskets were, she tersely replied "we don't have any".. Then came the pickles, they wouldn't ring up, she hollered at a woman in the self checkout asking about the price, she hadn't even seen them before. My checker asked her to go look up the price, had to ask 4 times, had to describe how to go look up the price. Woman comes back, says there's no price on the display, ( which is already what I said) and she says "just charge $2.. (I'm not even sure that tiny packet is worth $2, but I just want out of there by now.).!! Checker barely looks up at me, as she slides my stuff down the counter, gives a 1/2 hearted "thanks".. So much more letdowns, more employees than customers, not one of them made eye contact, most were milling around looking like they were trying to find something to do.. (Which wasn't asking any customers if they needed help).!! I was relieved to be driving away, drove to San Ramon Safeway and bought all of the other stuff I needed, Dreyers Ice cream was $2 cheaper, I was so much happier at Safeway that I spent $120.00 there.!!

The ones in San Ramon and Livermore don't have the fresh sushi chef counter. Their sushi is pretty good for a quick workday lunch. It is comparable to the Safeway sushi that is near me. I would get it again. Not high end but good for a more healthy lunch option.

Not as busy (or maybe I don't go during peak hours) with plenty of parking. I usually buy the basics but great for nuts, produce, eggs, fresh salmon, Furikake Snack Mix, dog treats, frozen almond croissants and other tempting goodies I try to pass on. They have a nice plant selection of tropical and succulents and inexpensive flowers for a gift or yourself. Staff always friendly and efficient. Place clean, organized and well stocked. Parking convenient.

However , it is usually full and you need to Park a little farther away then walk . They have a new items section that I found very helpful. All the new items are displayed on one tall shelf and it is better than reading the newsletters and look for them in different locations of the store . They sell their sturdy trustable shopping bag for 99 cent . It is large , well made and with pretty graphic designs. I hate to pay to get a paper bag then it torn out after one use or in the middle of walking to my car ! Trader has top quality of Angus beef ( rib eye , sirloin) , organic chicken , salmon and other seafood. It has a huge fresh fruits and vegetables section .Healthy bakery and snacks . It has healthy ingredients and the prices are lower than Whole food . Many products are imported from Europe. It is clean , organized, carry all the food and non food items for daily use . Excellent service and friendly staffs . What else can you ask for ? I vote this as my number one choice of grocery store.

This review is more about one staff member that went above & beyond for me…read more I enjoy a certain brand of beer and it increasing over the years disappeared from the larger Bay Area. I tried numerous grocery store and even BevMo & searched even Fremont Brewing website. All leads became dead ends. This week I stopped at Whole Foods and met Jackson. No mark up just by a case which I eagerly agreed. Four days later I had my old time favorite beer "Sky" by Fremont Brewing. Jackson is a pleasant guy interested in satisfying his customer. I was at the self check out counter and a staff was really rude to me: she kept telling me to scan an item a certain way and it did not work. Also my Amazon Palm was not working: she kept insisting that it would be better not to use it since I did not set it up correctly/ she was very rude too. After I checked out, I found out that she was in a hurry since it was the end of her shift. Maybe it would be good if staff members could be scheduled into the back storage room or restocking rather than customers-facing at the end of their shifts: just a suggestion.
