Stopped to get gas after being in heavy traffic and terrible weather for over four hours, and we also wanted to use the restroom tonight (Sunday October 24, 2021 at roughly 8:10pm) and there was a sign up saying the restroom was closed for cleaning. I explained to the attendant that I was having lady problems (you would think another woman would understand, especially since there weren't any other bathrooms nearby and when you are bleeding you don't really have time to look around for another bathroom ya know?) and she simply said "the bathroom he have bleach" so I said "that's fine, can I go in?" And she said "no he have bleach" so then I had to raise my voice and say "I'm bleeding and I need the bathroom" to which she said "fine go ahead". When I went in it was filthy, complete with toilet paper stuck the the toilet seat, trash in the garbage can, paper towel stuck to the sink and no wet spots of "bleach" anywhere so I have no idea what she thought she bleached. Not sure why she had the bathroom closed. At first I thought maybe she precleaned so she wouldn't have to do it at the end of her shift, but like I said it wasn't clean, so that wouldn't make sense. She was extremely rude to my husband and daughter who used the bathroom and bought some scratchers too. This is where we stop whenever we road trip this way and we always rely on being able yo take care of gas and bathroom at this location. Tonight was weird, and the attitude was just uncalled for. read more

I really wanted to like this store, but there are so many things that are wrong or irritating its hard for me to see any of the positive. 1) what's up with the lack of cell power??? I can't get diddle squat at your store. I like to check out my recipes, or get new recipes if your store is out of items, but no can do. 2) your little gas/Starbucks gig is a pain in my butt!!!! The parking lot is structured all wrong for the heavy entrance and exiting required to get either coffee or fuel. (Starbucks mgmnt should be forced to use their drive thru about 10 times in a row) I'm pretty sure we'd see a change. 3) what is up with a huge store and these little tiny selections???? You have about 1.5 aisles of actual can goods. Either you have overly selected your inventory or you don't have the inventory. I really can't stand running all over 15 acres of store footage looking for a can of chili and a can of tomatoes. I'm busy!!!! 4) not just this safe ways, but most safe ways.... The only open cashier is the one right next to the self service area. Well that's fine, but again, particularly in your store, I've already run all over creation about six times by the time I make it to check out. Give a tired working woman a break, can't you have at least a open cashier at the other end of your ginormous store be opened for check out instead of all check out located in the same area? Okay, I'm done ranting, but I tell you it's been building up in me every time I'm forced to spend my time, energy or money at this particular safe ways. read more

Their "Buy 2 Get 2 free" special is total bullshit. I went to four different stores and every one only stocks 2 of the item, even though I wanted 4 to get the discount. read more

This store supposedly carries a variety of special diet foods, specialty milks and yogurts, but any time I stop by (weekend afternoons, that is, forget weekends!) they are always out of stock on 75% of the stuff on my list. The standard response is that we only get deliveries certain days of the week and run out of them pretty quickly. Would you like a rain check? (Are you kidding me???) Even after making multiple trips a week, I'm unable to stock up on my groceries. Shouldn't the store manager be ordering more quantities and stocking up if there are always frustrated customers returning home empty handed? Food for thought. read more

I hate this new store. I've been 4 times now and am not going back. They are always out of the sale items (the shelf is totally bare) and the employees are not helpful. The last time I went, there was only one checkout line was open (other than the self service) and although it was a 15 item or less line, they were checking out everyone. The lady in front of me had at least 50 items and I had only 3. The cashier didn't even bother to call for backup either. read more

My favorite Safeway because it's spacious, always clean and well stocked with a substantial selection. I would go out of my way to visit this grocery store for those reasons. read more

Customer Service in this store is really lacking, they have a customer service desk up front which is not manned by anyone waited for 15 minutes to get help after clerks called for help two times. Finally left store leaving my full basket, left and went to Raley's... read more

I always like to come and grab a quick meal, the place is always clean and the service is quick.

They rude store dirty. Wrong prices i Complained after I was rung up for the wrong prices I went to the customer service and Simon was the person you helped me and he went and looked at the price and then he said oh it was for a different food and then said to me you should READ THE SIGNS!! He said in such a rude unprofessional manner and then I complain to the manager about it and he told me to calm down the manager this store has completely gone downhill this used to be a great store I would not go to the store again if you have to go to the Safeway go to a different one this one is filthy dirty rude employee. And the store is in violation of health code restrictions because you cannot have product on the floor so stacking cases of water on the floor is a violation of health code you're supposed to have it 6 feet off the ground this is health code standards this is not acceptable. And also to anyone who buys Energy drinks I think it was Redbull I'm not sure it wasn't energy drink do not buy Energy drinkfrom the store the vendor who is stocking it or employee not sure I was standing on cases of it to stock the shelf who knows where his shoes have been and with Codvid do you really want to drink a energy drink with someone's dirty shoes who have been outside who knows where have they been walking and they go to the bathroom with their shoes on and they're standing on your drinks you're about to drink just so you guys know anyone who drinks Energy drink energy drink I think it was red roll or monster I'm not positive I was disgusting and I walked away I should've took a picture please don't buy it from the Safeway if you do and you get sick now you know why. read more

This is my favorite safeway for the hot food/sandwich/salad section. I like that they have a few self check out stations and the option of Chinese food. The chicken tenders are always fresh and well cooked. The reason I gave this 4 stars is due to the joined gas station. The gas station staff is attentive, however if the pump/card reader freezes there is nothing they can do. There is no technician on duty. I was there for 20mins one day because the machine froze with my card info already imputed. If there was an available technician to reset the pump when this happened there wouldn't have been an issue. Or if they taught all of the managers how to do so...just a thought. read more

I'm surprised at all the negative reviews for this Safeway. The boy and I stopped boy on our way home and were stunned by how spacious&clean it is. We found what we wanted really quickly, and when we needed help on the self check-out, the attendant on duty was there before we could even look around for help. Much better than most of the other Safeways we've been to. read more

Safeway Florist department is by far the best! The quality of flowers for the price is outstanding. I purchased a bouquet of flowers on October 15th and ten days later they are still blooming! I purchased a bouquet from Raley's last month and two days later they were already dying. I recommend this Safeway florist on Bernal to anyone! read more

Amazed that such a huge corporation just cannot honor a $1 dollar mark down, in the 15 min I waited in line for a price check, and for the manager to then have a discussion witht the customer, the store lost a few customer including me this is the second time in one week that this happens to me... please have courtesy for the rest of the customers in line void the transaction and or move the issue to another register and expedite the line. I left the items. I took the time to shop your store to walk out with nothing. Terrible consideration for the customers and terrible service. Safeway/vons fix the issue. 2 times in one week it's a big issue. read more

Very nice Safeway. It's right off the freeway so it's very easy to stop here. There's a gas station here too. I like how this Safeway promotes local products. I've seen local beers, coffees and foods sold here. The ground coffee selection is impressive too. I like how there's a blood pressure machine here. I always use the blood pressure machines at Safeway. It's a nice way to track your blood pressure. This is good sized Safeway. There's a large table area to hang out at. read more

I come to this shopping center every morning to drop my boyfriend off for his work carpool. A couple times a week I will stop in to Safeway for a coffee, energy drink or snack. The store is always clean, stocked and staff are friendly. I come in the early morning when there isn't much of a crowd, bur can see how they'd be busy later in the evening. There is always parking, although after work it can be a mad house with cars as this center is also right next to the freeway. They have a Starbucks inside even though there is also one right next door. I usually use the self checkout and am in and out within a few minutes. read more

This Safeway is OK its new, clean, has the gas station which is reasonable. One thing I learned tonight do NOT go to the store at 11PM when they do their counting. They had a line out the door because the system was down. read more

It seems strange writing a review of a grocery store...but things seemed to have gone downhill lately. I couldnt wait for this store to open & was happy at first. But...what happened? Maybe 5 months ago or so...the store changed... and has gone down hill when it comes to the bagging. What happened? All of a sudden there are never enough, if any baggers. What changed? Management? I dont know...but it really stinks to spend an hour or so grocery shopping, only to have to bag your own stuff. Ok...life could be worse, but really... bagging my own groceries stinks & I stink at it...when I get home everything is just thrown in & I curse whoever bagged it. -Me! read more

A shout-out to Nate, who managed the Starbucks kiosk solo on a busy Friday morning after thanksgiving. He was attentive, sweet, professional, and never lost his cool. And he made me a total splurge for my bike ride home - a better chai tea latte I've never had! Thanks, Nate. read more

Yeah it's ANOTHER Safeway (aka corporate, bland, generic, low quality, etc.) But wait, what do these folks have? A REAL meat & fish dept? A REAL brick oven in the bakery? There's also a good amount of & expanded organic/bulk food section, an impressive & almost Dragers/Gene's-esque wine & spirit section, large (albeit standard fare, typical Safeway) produce & a nice open, airy well laid out floorplan. For a corporate, mid-level grocery store they've definitely stepped up their usual game a notch. Still nowhere near the Whole Foods/Paycheck model that I thought that they were shooting for but as a step above the previous flagship store on Santa Rita & Valley it deserves another visit. 3.75 Stars if Yelp could let me get really picky. read more

Never had a bad experience at this Safeway! Very clean and staff is friendly. I always get help when I ask. I am a frequent shopper and prefer this store over raley's on Sunol. read more

Pretty low rent for a chain based in Pleasanton. Was it really necessary to dig up an Indian burial ground to put up a cookie-cutter store? As long as you're going to desecrate graves, the least you can do is get staff willing to interrupt their conversations long enough to notice you standing at the counter? Worthless. Drive the extra mile to Raley's read more

Don't go to the Deli if you want quick service. It seems that SOME of the folks there work part time at safeway DELI and full time at DMV. Slow service, bad service, multiple folks in LINE WAITING to get their sandwich and NO ONE attending them. While there are up to 4 people I counted having a conversation behind the counter. not so much as a glance to say he hold on we'll be right there or not. Very un professional, like I said SOME of them work like our union DMV workers. Just not wanting to over work themselves. This is true about the pleasanton Deli. Consistently slow service, very non chalant about there being a line of customers waiting for Service. read more

I don't know why this Safeway has such low ratings! I actually really like this location. It is probably over-staffed, but I haven't had a bad experience yet. This location I would say is smaller than the one on Santa Rita, but is for sure more convenient due to the fact that it is so close to the freeway, and has a bunch of things to do and places to eat right outside. read more

The only thing bad about this safeway is the parking. its a lil too tight with too many people. I consider myself an expert in the bakery. And this is the best bakery at a grocery chain around. I had one safeway I would go to in SJ for anything baked, passing on regular bakeries and other chains. But this is my new fav. Great bakery! And they do have the cheapest gas in the area...great location as well! read more

So happy that ther is a Safeway so close to where I live. The New Safeway is less than one mile from where I live. The staff is just as helpfull as the Safeway on Santa Rita Rd. Thank you Safeway for making life a little easier! read more

very nice safeway. they give away new products for family's to test out. super cool in my book as i'm asian and love free things. the produce is always fully stocked with my honey crisps, and all the nice staff people always ask if i need any help finding anything. kudos to you helpful people. I know it's your job, but i appreciate you making the effort because most places don't even when they are told to do a little extra. My favorite safeway store to shop at. But the parking is pretty horrible since it's in a big plaza. read more

Awesome gluten free selection! Frustrating parking lot, though!

This is a decent Safeway. Overall I've found that Safeway is usually cheaper for groceries than Raleys and Lucky. They have a pretty good selection and the store is nice and clean. I like the fact that they have a smaller cart option for when you don't need a huge cart and a basket is too small (they roll a lot smoother and faster than the big carts too!). I have yet to find expired stuff on display like other grocery stores so that's a plus. There's never too much of a line at the self checkout so that's another good aspect. Docked a star since they don't carry some of the more hard to find specialty groceries and non-dairy products like double rainbow brand soy ice cream (the best soy ice cream out there) and soy whipped cream. Also they don't have whole cut up Foster Farms chicken, which is kinda weird since they have almost everything else from Foster Farms. read more

This safeway is only across the street from where I work and in a new shopping center. I usually come here because the parking lot seems a lot bigger. The cellphone reception is horrible but thats how it is on this side of town. Safeway actually has a wifi that you will need to log onto. Other than that no negatives except the one time someone made my sandwich very sloppily and almost spilled it on the floor. read more

The store is large, has good variety. If you're looking for help or a friendly cashier, stay out of the self check out area. They have a front manager that is worthless. While waiting for someone to help clear a machine, she totally ignored us. We didn't know this beast was even a worker as she never said, I'll be right with you. The self check machine must not have been working correctly as it had to be cleared numerous times before we finished. Her attitude was that of a wounded rattlesnake. NOT PLEASANT in Pleasanton. And to make it worse, I had complained to her that a toilet had run over in the women's bathroom. There was urine, water, dirty toilet paper all over the floor. There was paper and who knows WHAT in the disabled toilet area. I asked her to help. I suggested she might want to close that bathroom until cleared and cleaned. She did exactly nothing. When I left the store 30 minutes later, Miss Lazy was still leaning up against her work station doing absolutely nothing. It's people like her that ruin businesses. read more

Ever since this new Safeway opened, I would stop here all the time after work to get a few things on my way home. It's just a Safeway like all the others. Certain items may be tricky to find in this place due to the layout, but when you get familiar with it, it's not too bad. Excellent deli with a lot of choices and they even have Chinese food at the deli too. Self Checkouts are version 5, the latest to date. Staff has been friendly and some of them will recognize you after a while if they see you a lot. I haven't been to the gas station yet as it was under construction last time I visited here. But still, the gas in Pleasanton and Dublin is overpriced. Livermore is cheaper and well worth driving the extra 8 miles. Other than that, this store is in a good location right off the freeway. read more

I had a great shopping experience here, the prices were much cheaper than other grocery stores for the same products, which makes me want to but more. Very clean and everything was in stock read more

This is one of the nicest Safeways I have ever been in! The store is clean and nicely laid out with gourmet selections as well as basics. There are cheese tastings and wine tastings on Friday nights and they even have their own Sommelier! I especially like that they have their own gas station with cheaper regular prices than most places and discounts when you buy groceries. Only problem is long lines from time to time but most grocery stores are the same. Always like coming here to shop. read more

The deli's subs are quite tasty. Five stars for taste and quality. 0 stars for pricing for vegetarian subs which are priced just as expensively as meat subs. A vegetarian sub without meat receives one piece of cheese. The meat sub received meat and cheese. Both subs for the same price. Please explain. Pricing needs to be corrected. In about July 2014 they changed the size of the bread. Think hot dog bun size. So for about $10 you can get a delicious sub the size of a hot dog bun with one piece of cheese. What a deal. read more

Sorry, order was not sent to florist. No offer to expedite. Offered to send Friday after Valentines. Requested refund. CS offered to still send out the arrangement.
