a shelf of toilet paper in a store

This Safeway sucks. They used to have a couple great employees. The remainder currently (June-July 2021) have awful customer service skills. Also.. they're always out of stock of the free Saturday-Sunday deal.. it is currently 8:30 am mst and they are already out of these $2 paper towels that were supposed to be free. Wtf. They don't even substitute or stock up extra.

Fresh bell peppers and on sale!

Usually only one non-self check open, but it tends to be not too crowded. The vegetables are fresh and the butchers are helpful.

Nice interior, but turn on some lights! At night they keep this place almost completely dark. Why? I like to see what I am buying!

There were plenty of seats and it was clean. Even the bathrooms were clean. It wasn't super busy on a weekday morning. We walked around to see what they had and it was a breakfast spot, pizza, bakery, seafood, chocolate and coffee. I wasn't sure what the other one was in the corner but it didn't look interesting (I think sandwiches). I did wish they had something Asian like a ramen spot or even a pho spot but nothing. We ordered a breakfast sandwich called the Thunderbird at Call Your Mother. It was about $11. It was made fresh and it was super duper hot that we waited for a bit for it to be warm in order to eat it. The egg was fluffy, the sausage was filling and the cheese was melty. The only complaint I had was it was a little too sweet for me. It has honey and I guess I should have asked if it could be on the side. It really needed the hot sauce and it made it better. The other item we ordered was a ham and cheese croissant at Izzio Bakery. I think that's what it's called. They heated it up for me and it was about $8 after tax and tip. It was so good warmed up. The cheese was gooey and it was the right amount of salty goodness. The hubs and I kinda fought for the last bite. Would definitely would like to try other items from there next time we are in town. We would return but wished there was a noodle spot and it would make it so much better.

I enjoy shopping for groceries and life's sustenances at a locally owned store more than anything…read more When I was driving on 38th westbound to get somewhere this AM, this store didn't escape my notice (the exterior decals on the glass window was so visible as I drove past by it.) Since I wasn't in a hurry, I made a quick turn to a side street to park my car and went to investigate. And I LOVED it. This store is in operation since 1984. People who live in this neighborhood must love it; lucky them! I have to admit though; certain things are bit pricey but what's great about this place is the fact that they do generous sales on items throughout the store. For instance, a jar of Dalmatia Quince Spread (pear flavor) was originally $6 with some change but it was on sale at the price of $3.99! I had recently run out of a fig spread so I immediately grabbed this one. There is a cafe where they can make craft coffee beverages. Not only that, there is a pizzeria, sushi section, soap/beauty section, vitamins, alcohol section etc. Although the store is not massive, it's a good size where they pretty much carry most of the daily needs (although I'm not sure about toilet paper/paper towels and stuff like that; I didn't need any of those so I simply didn't look for it.) I saw some people sitting in the cafe studying with their books and computers. There were also families with small children eating their late morning meals. It's simply a great place for any occasion was the observation I gathered. My cashier (Sean) was very pleasant to me. I forgot to bring my reusable grocery bag so he asked me if I needed a bag to which I said yes. He didn't charge me for the bag when I looked around the receipt. Thank you! I hope I'll have reasons or business up in the neighborhood soon so I can make a stop again.

Stopped by to do groceries. They had a lot of interesting food vendors inside from coffee to pizza…read moreto sushi. As far as their selection of groceries I'd say it leans closer to a Whole Foods but also like a Safeway. Super cool grocery store that I've never seen in my home state of FL!

I always find this location of NG clean. The employees are courteous and friendly. The parking has never been an issue as the lot has ample room for cars. With that said, it's a bit surprising to see the 3.5 star rating as of mid August of 2024. Today I found a delicious and delightful sparkling water. Zero calories, no added sugar but is so refreshing and flavorful. The 12oz cans were $1.98 (each). Not bad. I mostly get produce when I go to NG just like any other day, They always have the freshest veggies and fruits. The quality is something I can always count on. I also get water (refill.) Per gallon price for members (doesn't cost to become one) is $0.29 which is the lowest out of all the other grocery chains. Thanks for being around to provide us with our daily necessities.

My relationship with this Safeway continues to be complicated. I had sworn off going to the store…read moreearlier this summer when for the second time in a row, I was in a line about 25 people deep at 6pm on a weekday, and only one cash register was open. (One day I waited for over 40 minutes just to check out.) Admittedly, most of my friends already made it clear I was crazy for continuing to frequent this store, but I feel pretty damn strongly about supporting the only grocery store in this neighborhood, so I persisted. Nevertheless, it became clear that the Safeway corporation was not respecting these employees by appropriately staffing the store, and I decided I would stop going entirely. Fast forward a few months, and the Safeway employees went on strike. I was pretty encouraged, supported the effort, and hoped for the best. After things were resolved, I decided to give the store a shot again, and pretty quickly it became clear that staffing the registers was still not a priority. Admittedly, I really don't understand how Safeway thinks this is a profitable maneuver--in order to spend money, consumers need to be able to check out. And guess what, if you're buying more than a few items, a self-checkout is not workable. But apparently this is the corporate game. I do want to give a shoutout to the stalwart employees who have persisted despite these tribulations. I'm always happy when I see Terri at the register or Bryan at the meat counter. Employees like them make all the difference here. I just wish they had better support.

I shop here I don't know four times a week. The store gets a real bad rap, and like if you shop…read morehere you know where the reputation is coming from, but it's really not that bad. Some of the employees can be a little rough around the edges I guess, but they're always really nice to me and I see them putting up with it with a lot of BS from some pretty obnoxious customers. And I know they're putting up with a lot from Safeway corporate management as well, so in light of all that I think that the people here are great. the reason I keep coming here because it's a Safeway and they got stuff you can't get at a lot of other grocery stores. The reason a lot of people are skeptical about this store is because there are sometimes some shady characters in the parking lot. That tends to feed speculation, I have witnessed some minor and petty crimes and if that's something that's absolutely intolerable for you I guess my thinking is a man you're in the city. I have one complaint about this store, and it's probably not what you're gonna see in most of the reviews. Because of the high rate of theft they've got like a sub store inside the store. If you wanna buy any cosmetics OTC medication's anything like that you have to use this stupid sub store. There will only be one checker. There will always be somebody in line in front of you who is taking 20 minutes to check out. I have considered on more than one occasion just walking out with my groceries and going to check out at the regular check stand. Like seriously what are you gonna do? I'm not stealing, I'm still gonna pay for it. that's pretty much the only unacceptable customer service I get at this store.
