Good lord this location is so gross. Meat dept smells of expired meats. The produce is so bad, our lettuce constantly has bugs in it and must be thrown out. Last trip there were mildly loaves of bread. Get it together. This can't be up to code read more

I have never experienced such an infuriating mix of incompetence and indifference. My delivery was over an hour late, and when the driver finally showed up, they took a photo of the wrong building to pretend they'd delivered the groceries. He stole them instead and marked the order as delivered. The groceries never arrived, and to make matters worse, customer service handled the situation with absolutely no care. When I reached out for help, I was met with dismissive responses and zero accountability. I was told I'd receive a refund and a confirmation email--neither ever came. At this point, it feels like they're hoping I'll give up and go away. I will instead go through my bank for a refund and file a police report. Groceries are already expensive, and customers deserve better than this kind of careless, inconsiderate treatment. Between the unreliable drivers and the useless customer support, this service has completely lost my trust. This grocery store was located across the street from the Hilton Garden Inn Union Station, so it was very convenient. Part of the Kroger family, this store had all the basic departments, including produce, prepared foods like sushi and fried chicken, rice, soups, snacks, dairy, etc. They had some self checkout lanes as well as some with cashiers ready to help. Opens even later now and is never open on time. The registers are also not ready when doors open. Multiple employees standing around including security guards on their phones or having a chat. There is never an actual lane open, so you have to check and bag your own groceries, working for them for free is not my idea of a good business model. The lines are always horrible and long. The only reason for the 1 star is that it is a nice store that usually has a pretty good selection. Overall, not a good experience the few times I have been there because if the customer has to watch those getting paid doing nothing. Do better because we do have other options. read more

Thank you king Soopers for replacing the hand baskets that were all stolen by unhoused folks and the diligent focus the security staff has on preventing them from being removed from the store even though I was so annoyed by the fact that security staff stopped me ON MY WAY TO RETURN THE BASKET TO THE RACK AFTER PAYING FOR MY GROCERIES to tell me I CANT TAKE IT OUT OF THE STORE as it would make for an awkward bike ride to try to carry that thing and be additionally silly that I have a basket to put my groceries in and DO NOT NEED TO STEAL A BASKET AND WAS MOT TRYING TO TAKE IT OUT OF THE STORE. The store itself is ok. Big selection for an urban location. Prices are reasonable vs Whole Foods a couple of blocks down. Downfalls? Homeless lurking outside/ inside. The parking here is super tight, one level garage. There was a considerable (at least 15 min) wait at the deli. There was only one employee actively assisting deli customers while 2 other employees appeared to be preparing food. Despite the parking and deli wait, it's a decent location. The store was pretty clean and well-stocked for Superbowl Sunday with average prices. The cashier and bagger were friendly at checkout. I usually go to this store, and so far no problems. Today i bought cat food, when i open the box there are freaking maggots around the food. No big deal maybe it got crushed in transport and so on. I go back to return it immediately . Having the nerve of calling the "Guest Care) the customer service was not even decent, the associate almost suggested i didn't buy the item there and that I was lying. And kinda making a big deal about it uncomfortably. I had my receipt and all. Despite that i got the money back he then, almost begged me to take the rotten food out in the garbage can. I pointed out to him that it should be their job to dispose of that. The location is great but try to avoid peak hours as it becomes very busy. The store itself seems very squished compared to other King Sooper stores. I'll usually only go here for essentials if there's anything I need and that's just due to the awesome location. For a proper grocery shop I've started heading to one of the other King Sooper stores. When I was staying in Lodo one of my first stops was here. I needed to do some grocery shopping for my spot. It's not a huge grocery store but it was big enough and they had everything I wanted. The prices were good and more affordable than Whole Foods down the block, the location was great, and they have a parking garage. read more

Crazy long lines in self and cashier check out, I have less than 20 items so I figured I'd take my chances in self checkout. I wait the 10 minutes to get to the front, and the employee manning the self checkouts tells me he won't let me check myself out. There's people behind and in front of me with a ton of little things in the cart but because I had toilet paper and paper towels my cart looked more full than it was. Living in lower downtown gets pricey. Thank god grocery stores understand our struggle. If you want to cook, great. This particular King Soops has more food than you have hunger. Their produce section has been recently remodeled and welcomes an impressive organic section. Not to mention their seafood section provides complimentary herbs and garnish baked into the price (just ask). Hands down my favorite part is their food court. A generous serving of half a sandwich for $5. A slice of pizza (it's basically two slices) for $3. Want fried chicken for dinner? Covered parking is available for free to grocery shoppers, however, during busy times the parking lot can't be full so be prepared to wait for a parking spot to open up. This location is great Antis right by the CVS and Whole Foods Market if you have other errands to do there. The parking lot is tricky getting into it, you can either enter from the main road, or from the alleyway at the rear. The produce is always fresh here, and the staff are cheery. This King Soopers is definitely on the smaller side of their type of stores. However, it is convenient if you are downtown, or staying at a downtown hotel. Having been here a few times, it was the closest to where I was before heading home, so I stopped in again tonight. Unfortunately, according to many employees I spoke with tonight, there has been so much theft out of their doors, that they no longer allow the front doors to the street to remain open. You have to walk in through the parking garage. So, don't bother parking on the street, as you will have to walk around with all of your bags. The store seemed pretty clean, but the checkout employees were standing around talking to each other (there were three at the register I went to,) yet not one of them stopped talking to start ringing up my groceries. While I don't mind you enjoying where you work and having some work friendships, I would appreciate you helping me when I appear in your line, instead of having your back turned to me and continuing your conversation. read more

The poor staff...they have no bags due to storm but corporate wont let the manager put up a handwritten sign at door to warn customers. This is an urban location where many walk. So I shopped for an hour and filled a cart, went to checkout and said at start "need bags", but was not informed until everything was scanned that there were no bags. So had to stand there while every single item was re-scanned to refund. Lost one-time digital and other coupons. Manger told me that can't put up sign to warn customer becuas she gets in trouble with corporate. Good selection, friendly staff. They have everything we need and lots of security. I am so pleased to be living above this store for two entire months while here in Denver. The hot food is pretty tasty and my husband enjoyed the sushi here. My only advice: Don't shop here in the evening after 5pm! Professionalism= Giving people education as well as being courteous to those you are serving. I came in early one morning to get a sandwich made because I was on my way to work. I asked the lady behind the counter if they were making sandwiches and she just looked at me like I was stupid and said no. Without even telling me when they do make sandwiches, she just continued preparing for the day. I'm a registered nurse...I'm constantly educating people on a daily basis. Still a one star for me, mainly because the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. After months and months they finally put a sign on their door on Chestnut that you can enter from Starbucks or main entrance. At Starbucks from 8am to 8pm. You go to Starbucks entrance and door is locked at 7pm with a sign that states, "this door locks at 7pm" so you gotta go around to garage entrance. And boy you better hold your breath, it reeks of human pee, smoke, pot and exhaust. read more
