We stopped in here when we visited Denver and picked up some travel sized toothpaste, contact solution, drinks, and snacks. It was easy to walk to and the inside was clean and modern. Okay- I'm usually the CVS devotee, but in this instance when I passed the CVS, it was super sketchy, mostly empty, and as I was looking through the front window I could see the pharmacy window metal door was pulled down and closed. Diagonally across the street was a Walgreens. Walking in, everything was fully stocked. People were shopping like normal and the pharmacy was open with two people and I needed to get some medicine being from out of state. They were very patient & friendly to help work with me, the water and drink area was super stocked. This is where you want to shop if you need anything and you happen to be visiting from out of town "and you feel safe." Shelves were fully stocked in every aisle. I come here literally almost everyday. The "rent a center" security was outside smoking; basically rushed back in to come to the medical pharmacy where I was picking up tums; and followed me back to register. It's crazy to think they assume everyone is stealing from this location when I'm a regular and know the security. When I checked out; I asked if I had any dollars on my account. The manger said no. And I was shown my receipt with a $1. Not much. But it was something. So I don't think they have a great idea of who's a regular customer who spends money there always; versus the homeless that steal. Don't appreciate this experience. But unfortunately I live downtown and this is the most convenient place for me to pick things up. read more

The Walgreens's on iliff and Peoria be very careful ordering controlled drugs from this pharmacy. They will give you a partial fill. Blaming it on insurance, then when you try to get the remainder of the fill, they will not disperse it. I've been hurt by this pharmacy withholding. My refills, even though they are due. Walgreens no longer put the customer first. The line just to talk to the pharmacy is at least 10 people deep, with overwhelmed employees. There are better pharmacies out there and I've switched due to awful service. No more Walgreens, no longer the trusted business it once was. read more

It's Walgreens. However, on 16th St., it's a nice little diversion from the freak show happening in downtown Denver. I was falling around by the security guard to make sure it wasn't a shoplifting... Ironically, I dress very conservatively, and don't shoplift as a rule... As I have a security clearance and a full-time real freaking job... Terrible photo department. Ordered prints online with confirmation email that it'll be readied in one day. Email never came. Called store, some jerk said "order is printing come to store in 3 hours." Never got the "your order is ready" email so I Called 1800 customer service to address the issue and they said they have read the envelope order over and that store confirmed they have it and it'll be ready by 1030am the next day. Mind you order was supposed to be ready the previous day. Next day I showed up store members frantically looked for the order and said it's not ready and it's printing. The remodel and extra space bought out makes this Walgreens a downtown must- You won't find grocery stores on the mall, but this is close enough for the daily essentials- It's huge inside with fresh food like produce, sandwiches, and sushi made at the up market- Nice selection of treats like yogurt parfaits and chocolate pudding cups - Not cheap but its the convenience of buying fresh fruit and salads along with iphone chargers - Okay what made me really happy was the variety of colorado gear I saw and not expensive like the mall shops- If your a girly girl like me prepare yourself for top of the line cosmetics and moisturizers- What's nice is it's Walgreens so you still get good deals on dollar items like candy and snacks before the movies- read more

Racist Security. I live in an apartment less than a block from this place. I use reusable bags for environmental purposes and go to this Walgreens at least once a week. The male security has seen me with my EMPTY reusable bags and has NEVER told me I could not use them. Today there was a female security who followed me in the store, stared at me and insinuated I was putting items in my EMPTY shopping bag. I showed her it was empty and she told me of some policy I never encountered where you leave your reusable bag on a Pringle's end cap. Meanwhile while I was being racially harassed there were two white people walking around with shopping bags and one was unhoused with two bags. She did not tell them the policy but she told me. I'm going to patron the CVS across the street from now on. If Walgreens pays racist security, they don't need money from People of Color. This looks bad on this entire company and now I really don't want to go to any Walgreens in the future. BTW, I always leave an average of $40 in that store. Never again! read more

I ALWAYS have a problem when picking up a prescription here. I have never gotten it on time even when it's really important meds that I need on me at all times. If you put in a prescription here give it at least 2-3 days before expecting it to be ready. read more

I have never received a prescription on time here. I use the app for updates and after about an hour it immediately says they're behind schedule. Calling doesn't help either as you're routinely on hold for over 30 minutes. If you're sick and need medications quickly do not use this location. In the heart of downtown Denver, the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall is the corner of Happy and Healthy. Gracing this corner is the main Walgreens of the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall corridor. During our week in Denver, we'd step inside the corner of Happy and Healthy on a few occasions. There was a good reason! Insufficient competition. Because of a want of grocery stores and department stores along the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall, Walgreens fulfills the role is the go-to store for groceries, beauty aids, smartphone accessories, souvenirs, reading glasses, and other items. This is an urban Walgreens that serves both tourists and locals. From the outside it is a picturesque Walgreens. The building it is in is obviously refurbished. Outside the light rail passes along Stout Street and free busses along with the occasional horse drawn carriage pass along the 16th Street Mall. Towering over this urban Walgreens is the famous Denver landmark the D&H Tower. Inside it is a modern Walgreens. The modern touches include an Upmarket Cafe that serves sushi. Throughout the store bright lighting creates a pleasant shopping environment. My favorite modern touch is the cueing system. When it came time to pay for my purchases, I'd join a single line of people that cued between rows of snacks and other good stuff. The cue is best described as an "s" layout. It leads to an elongated counter of registers. When a cashier was available, I'd hear a bell followed by "register_ is open" at the same time I'd see the light flashing. Thanks to the efficient cue system, I was in and out of the corner of Happy and Healthy in no time. Walgreens came through for us. When things happened and it seemed that we were potentially headed for the corner of Unhappy and Unhealthy, we paid this store a visit. When my brother was down with a certain ailment, they stocked the over the counter medicine to help him feel better. When my dad's reading glasses ended up mysteriously missing from our hotel suite, he found a replacement here. When it was time to look for Denver souvenirs, I considered buying a momento here. There is an aisle devoted to just Denver and Colorado souvenirs. I'd end up buying souvenirs further up the 16th Street Mall. I did buy Pringles here for the hotel suite. Again, with a lack of supermarkets in the 16th Street Mall with the exception of 7-Eleven Walgreens the closest to thing to one. Speaking of Happy and Healthy, before going to bed, my prescription for happy and healthy is an ice cold 24 ounce beer. It seems that the Walgreens ice caves full of beer that I take for granted in the Las Vegas Strip locations are nonexistent on this side of the Rockies. It would of been nice if Walgreens sold some alcohol beverages. This would of saved me an additional trip to 7-Eleven. Overall this Walgreens is a useful store. At the time of writing this review, it is the closest thing to a supermarket and general store along the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall corridor in downtown Denver. read more

My visits are from the time WAY before their remodeling days and now it was remodeled... I like. At least it is much better and WAY Bigger. NOT forgetting they have a SUSHI/FOOD Kiosk inside, though I have not purchase any SUSHI items as yet. Anyways from my recent visits be it in November 2017, I always managed to purchase some items I need and all the staffs who I have encountered or worked here are helpful enough either to show me where I can get the items I need. At least when they are not super busy or something. Do not fill your prescriptions here. You literally can not get in touch with a soul at that store. There was a week where I called them once (sometimes twice) a day and was put on hold for over 30 min until I had to give up. It's pathetic. I have to drive there just to have a conversation with someone. Being in the store is even worse. By far the worst store Ive experienced on 16th, and trust me...that's saying a lot. read more

This location was always good to have, but since they bought and closed the Rite Aid across the street, I can't recommend people go to it anymore (which is ironic, because it's way nicer than the old Rite Aid). Now, be prepared for lines 15-20+ people deep during peak times, up from maybe 6-8 when both stores were open. They haven't adjusted their stocking to accommodate, so if you need anything specific, don't be surprised if it's out. I couldn't even find Gold Bond last week, and SURPRISE, they're under staffed in the rest of the store so don't go asking for help. In short, they could fix the store by updating how they stock items and by hiring more employees to work during peak time periods. I'll keep an eye on it and adjust my review if they do, but methinks they'll just continue to invest the bare minimum to keep the store running. As a last note, the staff there is always courteous and doing the best they can, there's just not enough to go around. read more

I love walgreens, that's my main place for pharmacy/photos/random snacks... but NOT this specific location, I try my best to avoid it. It's always overly crowded and customer service is the absolute worst! Story time: I ordered some invitations online to be picked up there (because my regular walgreens on S. Broadway wouldn't print them). I sigh and embark on my journey to the 16th street location hopeful that it won't be as bad as always. First they have a sh*t show trying to find my invitations. When they found them, I inspect them and half of them were printed and cut badly. I show the invitations to the staff and they said to wait 10 mins so they can re-print them. Cool, I smile and wait. Time passes and they came back with almost all of the new batch in worse condition. The staff seemed annoyed and did not apologize. They did not care about quality of the product. I ended up saying that I'll take the butchered ones. Spent more than 30 mins in there just to pick up invitations. They get an extra star for the sushi chefs, their food is affordable and legit!!! And yes, I know, sushi at walgreens... it's good yo! Other than that, avoid the hassle of this place. read more

Like a lot of businesses on the 16th St mall, this place had a slight scent of skeevy-ness to it. However, they did have club soda, which is a plus. They did not have 5th Avenue candy bars (which is expected at Walgreens/Duane Reade). Nice, really clean, very convenient. I visit this place regularly to pick up my dog's prescription. (She must have partied hard as a stray before we got her, since her liver is pretty messed up.) Pharmacy staff are friendly and helpful. The store has a great selection of merchandise, though I don't think I'll head there for sushi any time soon. The market is nice to have, though--for those of us who live nearby it was a helpful resource before we had King Soopers downtown. They seem to have enough staff so that the long line moves pretty quickly up front. read more

I was just standing outside talking to someone today when an employee who was going on shift and came outside and started yelling at me about not talking to this person and how they just bought alcohol. 1- who I talk to or I've money to is no ones business but mine. 2- the fact that they stopped doing their job to harass me is unacceptable and unprofessional. 3- We weren't on the property of Walgreens and their employees need to mind their own business. Staying in the LoDo area, this Walgreens was pretty to get to on-foot. Holy crap, I needed to get here stat because for some reason, I ate something that slit open my gum and I got an infection. My gum was swollen to the point of not being able to smile for the selfies I was hoping to take as I sauntered along the streets of Denver on my first visit ever to the Mile-High City. WTF. Horrible luck on my part. I love traveling and generally pack very lightly but how could I have even anticipated this? Luckily, when I finally noticed that something wasn't quite right, I phoned my dentist in Atlanta right away and he put in a prescription for a mouthwash that would eventually fix my problem. I had to pick it up at this Walgreens, for which I provided my teeth doc all the info for him to send in my Rx. My mouthwash was ready quickly, to my immense relief. I picked it up and paid for it with no problems. With the altitude sickness I initially experienced then my messed-up gum, I thought, "Can things get any worse?!" Thankfully, they didn't, thanks to my fast-acting dentist and this Walgreens. To avoid paying exorbitant prices for bottled water at the hotel my baby sis and I were staying at, I also loaded up on a bunch of bottles to lug back. You're welcome, sis. One escalator working. The one the let's you in the store. 2nd 3rd floor is escalators shut down. Forced to use the elevator to go to/from third floor. Here's the kicker. Also forced to use the elevator to the ground floor entrance. Fire codes?? Yah you can push the yellow barrier away in an emergency. But either do this kind of work after hours, or one escalator at a time. read more

If your staying down town by the 16th street mall you have to make this your go to store. Drinks, snacks, souvenirs, fresh sushi made to order beer playing cards everything you forgot to bring from home and it's by far the cleanest convience store on the mall. You could go to 4 other 7/11 stores and risk catching the Ebola virus or some rare strain of flesh eating bacteria or you could just shop at this Walgreens. Totally your choice. Needing to burn a disc of images to hand off to a client, I found that the burner on my laptop done did die. Rather than drive all the way home, burn a disc, then head back downtown, I decided to have WG burn the images to a disc for me. What a lifesaver, right? Yeah, not so much... About an hour later, I got a call from the client stating that the images had no file names (not sure how that was possible), there were 3X as many images as there should be, and there were all kinds of "Order Walgreen's Stuff Now" crap mixed in as well. Fortunately, the images will end up with my client's client, so I can still get a proper disc to the right person (and save face). But it still took 2.99, and 30 minutes, to get a disc I couldn't use as a coaster. read more

I'm not a drug-store kinda guy, but I did make a stop here yesterday. Let's just say it's a good thing that this location is under a new renovation. It could really use some help. Walgreens is a decent drug store, but this one is confusing and very messy on the inside. I wont even mention the guy in the wheelchair that sits outside of the entrance begging for money from every passerby, he's truly a character just looking at him. This is probably one of the more busier drugstores downtown, mainly because it is right on the corner of 16th & Stout, by the lightrail station, so you get all kinds of people going and coming to this location, plus it's convenient for those who work and live downtown. Just go in sometimes and you'll see there is always a line of frustrated people trying to check out. Now that could be because at times when I have gone in here, there seems to be one person working a register and another person standing by the photo center pretending to be searching for something and noticing the line of people on purpose so as to not open another register. And who still drops off their film to be developed nowadays anyway? Inside the store seems to have no organization at all and a lot of items seemed to be a bit overpriced. But when you're only 1 of 2 drugstores on the mall, the Rite-Aid sitting on the opposite corner, I guess you can charge what you want. So convenience can sometimes outweigh the cost of an item. I hope the current renvoation will make Walgreens a better looking drugstore and more appealing to consumers, but I guess we'll have to wait and see once it's done. read more
