I work down the street from this liquor store. & they stay open a little later which is nice considering I work at bar & get off work after 10pm or so at times. I enjoy the friendly staff there, although I haven't really found a lq store in cap hill/downtown that I have had poor service. They have a pretty solid wine selection & just about enough beer choices for anyone. Liquor is kind of steep if you wanna compare to argonaut & they have never ran a sale EVER as far as I'm concerned so if I'm able to drive I may stop somewhere else! As for the other side convenience store I have not shopped over there but agree with another Yelper that there is dust on the shelves... Very disappointing experience. Our DoorDash order was delayed, so we called the store twice and provided multiple ways to reach us, including the phone number we were calling from. They later claimed they waited outside our house and that we entered the wrong phone number--neither was true. We even received their cancellation text on the same number they said was incorrect. Instead of taking responsibility, they gave contradictory explanations and called me "ridiculous." Poor customer service and zero accountability. read more

Take the extra time and go somewhere else. I frequent this store and have had nothing but bad experiences. The staff (with the exception of one worker) including the manager is always rude and anything but helpful. On top of that, the prices are much higher than anywhere in Denver. Please save yourself the trip and do not go here. This was my first time here and I was looking around for what I needed and apparently was taking too long so the guy working was so rude and started accusing me of coming in before and scoping out their prices. I was checking my phone, but not to compare prices, but to check my list of what I needed. So I can see where he'd get the impression I was comparing prices, but as I had tried to explain to him that it was my first time here he just started insisting that he had seen me before and was yelling at me. Prices are a little higher, I can agree with that. But the people that work here are fantastic. I usually stop in to grab a bottle of champagne, tonight I had the first experience of the cork splitting at the bottom and completely exploding all over my house. I went back to buy a new bottle, but brought the original with me (split bottom of the cork still stuck inside) to make sure they could get their money back. So, sometimes I get cravings for really weird things. Take last night for instance - I was dead set on having a candy soda. (That's what I call sodas that are like grape or orange or other delicious flavors.) After tandem scooter riding up and down Colfax to no avail my lovely boyfriend had the brilliant flash of Watson's. Watson's, for those of you that don't know, has totally foiled Colorado's laws about selling liquor in convenience stores with a simple door. That's right the only thing separating you from your ho-hos and High Life is a simple door in this clever liquor/convenient store. Anyway, I sauntered into the booze side and immediately saw a Welch's Grape, which was what I had initially wanted. The problem was that it was in a plastic bottle rather than glass or a can. I'm very particular with these things. As I began to fear strangulation from Nick I passed through the door to the "grocery" side. They did in fact have candy sodas in cans and so I got one. I also got a box of Count Chocula and a bag of Munchos. Because really, who else sells that stuff. I'm a sucker for novelty. Anyway, the people working here are usually friendly. The patrons are mostly iffy, but always entertaining. And I would have given them 5 stars if half of the food in the grocery section was covered in dust. Who doesn't love a liquor store and grocery store rolled into one? Talk about a one-stop-shop! Watson's has it all. Great location and decent hours (from what I can remember after a night of drinking) means this totally convenient store is total cool sauce. Not only can you get all the booze and mixers you need but you can pick up party munchies, smokes, Powerball tickets, rubbers...whatever you might need for a fun filled night! My favorite part is the HUGE selection of mini airplane shooters at the front counter. Inexpensive and a great variety makes Richard happy :-) I can't speak for every employee but a few have let me slam my shot right there in the store. Talk about laid back! The staff has always been polite when I've stopped in so be kind and you never know what you might get in return. Watson's if great good stuff. read more

It's about 2 dollars more for each item in comparison to argonaut (a nearby liquor store) so its worth it when it's closer to you than argonaut. I always walk there so idk about parking. Customer service has always been good for me. They actually ordered a whiskey I requested and it was fully in stock the next time I visited. They allow dogs. They even have items that are for your convenience. Like snacks, nonalcoholic drinks, cups, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. read more

Watson's is fantastic! The guy with the curly hair and the thick accent that works the cash register is really nice. I was so excited when I moved into my new apartment because I could just walk around the corner and buy myself something tasty to drink and grab a quick random snack. I love it! What I find disturbing, however, is that my curly haired friend knows who I am which is sort of scary. Don't get me wrong, I love my booze more than the next person. But I have NEVER considered myself someone who drinks enough to be remembered at a liquor store. Yikes! read more

We stopped here after going to Dazzle for Happy Hour and my sister had a drink that she wanted to recreate. We went to Watson's as it was on our way back to our car. We did find a cool new vodka by Svedka that is a Colada Vodka. We were also looking for McGillicudy's Vanilla Schnapps and they did not carry any type of vanilla schnapps, so we paid and left. The store has a decent variety of alcohol (at least on the liquor side, didn't check out the convenience store aspect), but not a large selection. We left disappointed and had to seek out our specialty alcohol desires elsewhere. As I've passed this place several times throughout the years, now I've been. Can't say I have a desire to go back, but if I'm in the hood and in need of something, I may stop back in. read more

Who can review Dazzle without reviewing Watson's next door? I love the idea of a truly urban grocery-slash-liquor store, although really the liquor store is about 2/3 of the whole place. Whether it's a box of Applejacks and Welch's Grape Soda you crave, or a fine bottle of vino and a cigar, this shop is right in the middle of several bars so you can stop on your way home from wherever. There are some crazies that frequent the place, but that is the case with every public place near Broadway, so what are you gonna do? I can rely on Watson's whether I'm cabbing it home and need a bottle of water, or am leaving a bar early and want to get a little nip of something for a nightcap. read more

The great selection of alcohol is there. As well, as some overpriced food, even for a convenience store. Though the staff, mostly the old woman, can give you a hassle. If you need anything non-alcoholic, I'd recommend going to any of the other three convenience stores that are within a couple blocks. Watson's is AWESOME!! The staff is so friendly and always have great suggestions on wines and beers. They also have a new service (WASHBOX) that allows you to drop off your laundry and dry cleaning while buying your beer and toilet paper.
