I'd never recommend safe lite for any windshield replacement. Ever. The glass they use must be much softer, it allows cracks and chips to happen with the smallest hits. I've had windshields last 7+ years. Theirs didn't even last 2 months. Then when I called to ask about possibly warranty from safelite corporate they told me to buzz off, they wouldn't warranty it but in fact I could schedule another appointment to pay another $500 for a windshield. On vacation from Arizona, a rock hit the windshield and gave us a great big crack. Decided to have our windshield replaced at Safelite in Thornton, so we made an appointment for 1 PM & dropped off the van. Someone finally gave us a call at 2 PM to tell us there was a crack in the new windshield. They wanted to know if we still wanted the new windshield put in, and of course we did not. Why don't they check their product in the morning and call the customer if something's wrong?? that could save us all a lot of headache. Wasted a whole day of vacation for this. I used my insurance deductible to cover the windshield replacement. Scheduled an appointment for the following day. Took 1.5 hours but they told me they needed 3 hours. 2 days later the install still looks good. They had replacement E-470 stickers available. One thing I found annoying was they sent me 12 text messages and 8 emails before, during, and after my appointment. A little excessive but overall the service was great. read more

Long story short: I had my windshield replaced at the Aurora location and it apparently was not installed properly. I had a periodic leak that ultimately ruined the blower motor for the air conditioning. Warranty work was done by the Thornton office (I believe as they came to my work in Westminster). This is when it was determined water was getting into the blower motor. That was in June of 2023 and it took me a while to get it fixed in August of 2023. They claimed that they would reimburse me and finally after quite a bit of back and forth I finally was reimbursed for the replacement of the blower motor at the beginning of December 2023. I had to be persistent and part of the issue was dealing with different staff at this location. Ultimately Michelle was able to get things submitted for the reimbursement with the Warranty department. It was a big expense for me so I am glad they honored their word and came through as promised. read more

Tried to get my windshield replaced here twice. First time they ordered the wrong windshield, they asked me to reschedule and to leave it there for the day, since it would take 2-3 hours to install. So today, I dropped it off at 9 am, the gal told me it would be ready between 4:00-5:00 and that they'd call me when done. So at 4:10 I got a call from the technician saying g he was JUST about to get started on my windshield (how was it going to be done between 4-5 if he was just getting started!?!) and he noticed a 3in scratch on the new windshield. He asked if I still wanted to install it, because the scratch "was just cosmetic " I declined, the entire reason I am getting it replaced is cosmetic! Maybe if they started my car earlier in the day, they could have ordered a new one or at least I wouldn't have been without my car all day. They completely wasted my time! I had to have someone else waste time dropping me off and taking me back. Would give zero stars if I could. read more

Dealing with Safelite has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish. I thought I was doing the right thing by replacing the windshield in my 2020 Jeep when it got a small crack in it, but every time Safelite touches my car they somehow manage to do more and more damage to it. In addition to the absolute bottom of the barrel glass Safelite apparently considers OEM, the first technician installed glass with a massive scratch in the driver's eyeline and damaged the bodywork of my car to the point trim pieces had to be completely replaced. When the tech came out to replace my windshield and body trim pieces a week later for the first warranty appointment, they were unprepared to replace my windshield until I asked them directly about it and they admitted that yes, in fact, the manager had sent them with a replacement but 'it wasn't clean' and the technician wasn't planning on doing it. They ended up replacing my windshield with one that was slightly less scratched (or at least in a less obvious place) but when installing that one, filled my wiper rain sensor on the back of my rear view mirror with adhesive, rendering it inoperable, so I had to call for my second warranty appointment in two weeks. I sat around all day today after receiving my 'confirmation' for my appointment today (with a picture of my supposed tech) until 10 minutes before their office closed and I got a call asking what they were repairing on my car this time and letting me know they didn't have anyone to send out to the appointment they had confirmed for today and they'd try again Wednesday. It's clear that this place is too busy for their own good (the second tech even told me they 'borrow' staff from other Safelite's 'up north' that have zero accountability to the local shop) and rather than actually do the job right, their 'Lifetime Warranty' is just an excuse to handle whatever they feel like handling after they cause you more problems than they solve. The company is really friendly to you while they destroy your car one piece at a time. At least they have that going for them. read more

Quoted me a fair price for the windshield and I scheduled the service. The day before I received a notification that there was a mandatory recalibration fee for the front facing camera that was as much as the cost of the windshield. I don't even have a front facing camera. Automatically adding this service after the fact, with no way to remove, is fraudulent and dishonest. Most big companies have these"revenue enhancement" initiatives but this was ridiculous. They also added a $40 "recycling fee" that was not part of the original quote. Completely absurd. Tech accidentally dropped the windshield on my car's hood, causing damage to the hood of my car and the windshield. He said that he would have to go and procure a new windshield to install. He also said someone would be sent out later that day to buff out scratches, then that changed to the next day, or even later in the week. So I talked to Bennie, manager at the Thornton shop, who at first said that it would be later in the week, if at all, and THEN, that Safelite doesn't even HAVE any mobile technicians who do that kind of repair, and that it would have to be taken to an auto-body facility WAY the heck down in Littleton. Then it was determined that I could take it to a local body shop, but that I would have to get an estimate, then bring the vehicle in and leave it, all of which is time consuming and a hassle for me to deal with. I called Bennie back and told him that I wouldn't be able to deal with all that just to get my vehicle repaired, told him he could knock off the charge for the $100 deductible, to which he agreed. But my car still has scratch marks in the hood, and I am unsatisfied overall with how things were handled. These guys need to deal with mishaps/mistakes by their technicians better. I understand that accidents happen, but how they handled the situation was poor, and required multiple phone calls and waiting around all day to have the service finished on my vehicle. That their technician told me that there would be someone sent out to deal with the hood damage, only to find out that no such thing would ever happen, reveals that their procedures for dealing with this kind of situation are inadequate at best, and a flat-out lie, at worst. Even though the deductible was waived, I was the one who had to make the offer to their manager. I will give the tech props for doing a good job on install, ONCE HE CAME BACK WITH THE GLASS. He also did a very nice job of polishing up every window on the car, very nice and polite guy, I don't hold him responsible for what happened, but he was obviously sent to do other jobs before coming back with my windshield and finishing the job. Overall, the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and we won't be using their services again. read more

I am certain they would do a good job installing a windshield. This is what happened to us: we got a quote for $515 + applicable fees for the windshield installation which was comparable to other quotes. When we went to drop off, my husband asked what the "fees" were. Turns out, the fees were $625 for calibration, more than double the original quote. We took the car elsewhere, where the quote included the calibration and no hidden fees. Buyer beware. It was a shocking amount compared to what was expected. read more

At the time of receiving my car it's raining overcast, but I look at my windshield.Look at my car.Everything Seemed okay but, on the way home something's poking me on the side of my thigh, realized it's a piece of glass that I am sitting on. By the time I got home , the sun was shining. Looking in my car, there is glass everywhere on both seats In front, all over my dash, and my console And the front Passenger mat is just loaded with pieces of glass. I took pictures. They stated on paperwork that they had vacuumed my car.This was on a Friday night. Try to call Saturday. No one's available to speak to. They sent me a questionnaire on how the service was. I explained everything that happened. And no one ever contacted me about this. It took me an hour to vacuum out all the glass from my car. Safelite will quote you one price and then charge you more than double for a simple windshield replacement. For the record they require recalibration for something my car can't even do (I.e. assisted breaking and lane change alert) the tech was very helpful and I have no issues with him. Missed an appt. on Tuesday and was able to get in first thing Wednesday. Rather than the 2 hours I was expecting my car was done in 45 minutes and covered by my insurance. This is the 2nd time I have used them and have been very satisfied with the work and the service both times. read more

Scheduling a new windshield install on site was fine, about a 5 day wait. Technician was on time, super professional and polite.

My husbands truck needed a replacement windshield and the tech that came to our house was efficient, very courteous and did a great clean up job afterwards. He went above and beyond to clean up the side boards and such even though it was dirty from winter driving beforehand! It was nice of him to do all that as well as change his wiper blades out. I took my Subaru forester in for a replacement windshield after driving it around for months with a large crack. I was greeted by the front desk and everything was great. Once I returned and was being shown the work that had been preformed I immediately regretted my decision to come to this location. The tech was showing me what they had done and I noticed that all of the exterior moldings were not placed correctly. I have some experience working on cars so I started to clip them in right there in front of the tech. I also noticed that they broke a few clips that hold the wind shield washer assembly together. Anyways, I'm not satisfied with the workmanship and overall attention to detail that the techs have . I believe they need additional training so that this doesn't happen to future customers. If I were to have to replace the windshield again I would not bring it here and you shouldn't either. Two stars is being generous.. read more

I came in with my BMW to repair the windshield and two side windows. I knew working on these cars wasn't typical or easy. They ran into some installation problems. Long story short, took a few weeks ( ordering parts) but I can honestly say they stepped up to the plate and did an outstanding job. Shout out to Davante and the manager (forgot his name) for giving it their all. I have been to Safelite before, and this time I had to have two windshields replaced in two cars on the same day. So, I called their number, and I think I was sent to a customer service center in Ohio when I called, and they arranged my appointments at this Thornton location. They ask you a round of questions regarding your insurance and type of vehicle. I had no insurance coverage, and I asked for a discount and received one, so be sure and ask. I brought in each car at different times, and it took about two hours a piece. They don't have a loaner, so if you plan to wait, it could take awhile. Personnel was courteous and nice. The price quoted was the price paid. They used to give you a free can of window cleaner the last time I was here, but this time, they gave me one as a courtesy, but said now they charge $3. However, I was happy with my new windshields, and they cleaned all my windows on each car as an added bonus. All in all, very happy! read more

The tech gets 5 stars. Super nice, prompt, efficient and great communication. The company itself gets zero! I cannot believe the unnecessary time and hassle. I bet 90% of their price goes to cover the cost of their internal inefficiencies. I booked on their website, then at the step where I select my specific windshield, it says to call if you're unsure. I call. After several minutes dealing with their silly menu, it says they don't answer phones and directs me back to the website (which again, says to call them). I call my car dealer. Service gives me the part number and description which doesn't match Safelite's options. So I walk through all 10+ options and the service department tells me exactly which one I need. By the way, Safelite also required my VIN number so could obviously invest in some basic analytics to figure this out themselves. Today the tech tells me it's the wrong part and he has to reschedule. The kicker? I asked if he could find out if any of their other locations could do it earlier... but the techs also have to use their dead-end phone system and can't even reach a live human at their own employer!! Not surprisingly, lots of unhappy employees on Glassdoor. I didn't care enough to write a review until I saw the CEO's photo and bad ratings and decided he deserves to be taken down a notch. My windshield encountered a huge rock while traveling south on I25. Came outta nowhere, no trucks around me, no cars near me and bam!! Hit right on the drivers side about head level. Scared me to death! Safelite did an awesome job replacing it in no time. I had contacted another company on my insurance Co's list, they took an entire week to let me know that they couldn't get my windshield. Just go to Safelite, they will do it in a very short time and a professional job too. read more

I had my windshield replaced a few weeks ago and the other day when I turned on my car the windshield cracked. There were no prior cracks or scratches. The crack formed from the edge right above the vent. This is clearly an installation issue or a manufacturing defect. When I brought it to the shop to get it fixed, I explained the issue. They initially said it must have been a manufacturing issue and to contact the dealer. When They found out it was recently fixed at this location them, they pivoted their response and immediately claimed the damage was due to a "ninja" crack and would not cover this under their installation warranty. The individual I spoke to switched from fulfilling the warranty coverage to blaming me and now I have to pay for two windshield replacements. The service is terrible and the excuses are pathetic. The inability to not respect your own warranty is a joke. I am not happy with this Safelite and I recommend you go elsewhere for your windshield needs. read more
