The gentlemen (I think his name was Brett) was friendly and very efficient. He was done in 30 minutes later. All in all, I am happy with my service and my sweet ride has a new windshield. He offered me a deal with a wiper replacement. I had new wipers lying on the floorboard of my truck. He offered to put them on for me. I made sure to ask if it was for free....I can put my own wipers on. He said yes. Submitted my claim to insurance to find out that he charged me $7.99 to put the wipers on. LIAR!!!! Here's the business model for safelite. 1. Take all reservations 2. Get the customers vehicle information including VIN 3. Plan the job (replace or repair) 3a. If replacing the windshield, do NOT look to see if they have the windshield in stock till the second you actually have the vehicle in your possession at the moment they are starting to work THEN they check if it's in stock. Not when they take the reservation a week in advance. Nope the second they start on your car. Pure genius!! Also I wasn't the only one that experienced this marvel of intelligence in business. The person right behind me got to hear this same tale. Clearly this is how they work. The Seinfeld "take all reservations" but don't actually do anything with them. Value: waste of time. Ask them to order the part so it's actually there for your reservation. Otherwise you get to experience this fun time of wasting your time twice. Katy Safelite has beyond poor customer service. My scheduled onsite appointment was cancelled because the replacement windshield was damaged. A second appointment this time mobile was scheduled for almost a week later. The tech arrived with a damaged replacement windshield. The tech said he would be back in a couple of hours if he could find a replacement. Almost three hours later (after I reached out via text), the tech stated his supervisor had just requested the replacement a second time today from the vendor, but it would probably be too late if there isn't a response by 12pm. There was no communication from Safelite as to when a replacement windshield would be available. I followed up by calling the direct office line and was told that it was being ordered. Who knows if it ever arrived. The automated telephone number treats you as if you do not exist. The direct office line will continue to ring then hang up on you after a message telling you to go back to the website. I scheduled a third appointment from my phone to see if this would prompt communication. This appointment was deleted by Safelite with a no show/no follow up call, absolutely nothing. Do the owners of this company realize how much money they are losing? Do they even care what their employees are doing? I will avoid this business and recommend against the company going forward. Came in for a rock chip repair and ended up having a crack bigger than the initial rock chip. They tried to collect money from me for a windshield wiper change which I never asked for. They did take the charge for the wipers off and said I could keep them. Got into the car and ran the wipers and come to find out one wiper, only the middle part touches the glass, so it's the wrong size. Tried calling the shop, customer service and the chat for help but no help. read more

My appt was super fast and efficient. I arrived on time and was taken in immediately. Staff was friendly and the repair was exactly what I expected. I had a glass repair requested through my insurance and a Safelite professional (don't want to ruin the professional career mentioning his name) tried to repair it. The crack was less than 0.5inch, the professional came and made it worse (~8inch crack). He simply mentioned, you have to replace it and just left. He has absolute 0 accountability. Called the Safelite customer service and they are horrible, they said they do not have responsibility since I signed the waiver. I had a cracked truck windshield and chose Safelite through my insurance. Scheduling was simple --including questions about make, model, tint, with options to come to body shop or mobile unit. I chose mobile and setup both text and email notifications. My repair case was assigned a work order, 5 hr time window, and an email with a video of the expected procedure. Safelite was proactive in sending multiple arrival updates. I called to let the tech know I needed to leave home for about half an hour. It worked out because the technician was nearby and conveniently arrived a couple of hours early. A very kind and professional tech named Stephen. It took 90 minutes with no rust windshield issues with my truck. It was interesting to observe the assembly process. I'd highly recommend this company! read more

Would give negative stars if optional.... Multiple calls and messages to setup windshield replacement after giving vehicle vin to confirm we would be receiving a compatible windshield for our specific car & it needing to be a certain brand of glass for vehicle features to work. After all the attempts to confirm compatibility, (calls, texts emails etc) and verify price with labor & calibration included, the tech shows up in our driveway to take out our windshield.... after almost an hour of him in the vehicle undoing wires and conversations via his phone from in our car, he somehow determined the glas he brought is wrong and wires won't connect..... how? Why? You have vin # and license plate of exact vehicle.... still 3 weeks later and no return call from mgmt or an explanation.... beyond unsatisfied with service or even the attempt at customer service. There is no Dropbox at this location and the corporate office told me there was. My husband and I drove to Katy, 30 miles from our home, so we could avoid morning traffic. At 10 pm, we were combing the location trying to find the Dropbox. We left my car in the parking lot. I had to drop my husband off at work to drop the fob off. Update: Originales service was beginning of January they kept getting damaged glass so they ordered from molar direct. it's been 3 weeks I was told the glass showed up and they would have a tech out today 3/9 I never got a confirmation email or anything so I decided to call when I finally got through the lady tells me oh they scheduled you for the 28th and the glass hasn't shown up yet. I explain this is the 2nd time this has happened with no follow up from safelite at this point I think I'll just call my insurance and have them source from another company that can actually do the job and be responsive and update correctly. read more

Avoid this place. Needed windshield replaced and it resulted to 3 trips back. First windshield replaced, after car was in back shop for 15 min I was called to back by technician to tell me a cracked new windshield arrived from warehouse. Could not believe it. Moved work day around for appt and I found it unacceptable this was not checked before I arrived. After complaining with store manager of needing to wait for another replacement windshield and the inconvenience.... the manager blamed the manufacturer. I was offered Uber to/from home once new windshield arrived and they installed. The Uber offer was effortlessly as if this is the norm or gimmick used to satisfy dissatisfied customers. I took them up on the Uber offer but still not happy. After my installed windshield approx 2 weeks later discovered a white area around the seal of new windshield. Stopped by store to have someone look at it. Technician quickly confirmed it was defected (laminate) glass. Well I had to plan for trip no. 3 this week. Asked for store manager to question where is the QA. Manager again blamed manufacturer. So I guess Safelite does not take accountability nor has a check the glass before it leaves the warehouse or once delivered or before customers with appt arrive. When I questioned manager, she seemed annoyed I was complaining and having to make 3rd trip in less than a month. I have had nothing but positive experiences the two times I have dealt with Safelite (not this location) but they seem to be pretty arrogant and don't care. Not to mention I asked for the regional manager express my displeasure of how I was treated and my emails have gone unanswered. Arrived on a Saturday morning to get my windshield repaired. The tech took my car to the back to begin the repair. 15 minutes later she came out and said they did not have the parts and she would bring my car around. I was told by the tech that the molding would ordered and I would receive a call when the part came in. I walked out side to get in my car to find the wipers and the attaching hardware had not been put back on the car. Had to go back in and aske them to put my car back together so I could leave. It' now a week later and it is impossible to get ahold of an agent to find out the status of my part order or when i will ever get called to bring my car to have the windshield replaced. Driver door window had a ding that required replacement of the window. Appointment was made a week in advance, with all details about the make, model, year and specific problem. This Safelite location is in a strip shopping center and very difficult to get in or out. We arrived for our 8:00 am appointment. My wife was told by the technician, it would be 1 1/2 hours or less. Although I came to take her home, she decided to wait and told the technician. I left. After 20 minutes, the tech then told her the window glass replacement was not there! She insisted they take her home. They did call an Uber. Inexcusable the glass was not located first. We will not use that Safelite location again. read more

Despite being pricier, I have used Safelite for several replacements and chip repairs over the past 10 years. This last time I had a small, tiny chip. I should have taken my chances with it and left it alone. I took it to their shop where they ran the small chip into a crack half way up my windshield. They will not offer any kind of solution or resolution. Not even meet you half way. You can call corporate and sit on hold for 30 min and no one will ever return your call. This company needs to go. They have "better than industry" and blah blah...... well they ruined a windshield and I will need to file a claim now. Terrible terrible loyalty and service, so disappointed. I scheduled a service online, gave them all my insurance info. USUALLY they contact my insurance, verify the deductible and everything is easily handled. This time the woman at the store refused to contact my insurance to verify coverage. She said I was supposed to do that--- which is never how it has been in the past. Regardless, I contacted my insurance and verified coverage. I called SafeLite and gave them my information. For some reason there was no communication with the tech who had me as an out of pocket appointment. He said if you just give me a card we will keep in on file but we WONT charge your card until we figure out what you really owe after insurance. HA!!!! The second the tech left my house he charged my card. I called right away to have this fixed, of course they were no help. They set up a claim. Heard nothing for a week. I called again, they escalated the claim and said someone should reach out by Friday at the latest. It's now Monday. No one has reached out to me, my card is still charged $430 more than it should be and when I called again today their system was down and they said just give me your info and we'll call you back. I WONT HOLD MY BREATH!!!!! Usually Safelite is a breeze and my go to choice for things like this. The woman I spoke to today had such an attitude like I was an inconvenience to her by even calling and asking for an update or any kind of clarity. So my claim has been escalated but as far as I can tell that means nothing. No one has every called me back when they said they would. This is just bad business at this point. I'd appreciate if someone could actually help me and find someone who will do their job, not just tell me what I want to hear. Made a small rock chip go to a long line across the windshield. I think the policy that they're not responsible if the windshield cracks while they're repairing it is crap. Could've just left the small chip alone that was hardly noticeable. Now I have to pay over $400 to replace the windshield that they made worse. Try the little repair places in the parking lot at H‑E‑B first. Maybe they'll be more careful. Tried putting a review on Google about this place and it said I couldn't. Peterbilt 386 Window windshield installation on 1/27 on 2/3 requested warranty service. Appt set for 2/7 8-5pm.. 3:30 I hadn't heard anything from the Tech or the Shop. Called 800 number and was advised that the shop would be calling me soon that it was a 2 man job and they were looking for a second person...4:45 no call and still no show. Called back and was placed on hold for 17 minutes. Original tech went in and added notes that window was leaking because of the new visor and that water was getting behind the gasket.. Hmmm, How do you know that since you never showed up to check.. That visor has been on there for a while and no, the water is not coming in from two screws in center frame and leaving my floor boards flooded).. They installed window with no butyl tape and the water is leaking thru window. YES a Peterbilt has to have the TAPE.. $850 and missed $1800 day.. But wait I still have to go and get the windows done somewhere else.. I called the Corporate and everyone else, No help... Oh and anyone that does Peterbilt windows and those that drive them can attest that the seal from driver window and passenger window meet in the center with NO GAP. I filed dispute with Credit Card Company.. BTW way who does that type of business. Just leave a customer sitting and waiting all day from 8-5 and never show up at all and not even call and let you know that they're not coming at all.. Trash is the nicest way I can put that. I have Photos and I'm taking it somewhere else and will take more photos and video which then will go to attorney! read more

I am extremely disappointed with this location and their inability to do their jobs. My appointment was scheduled well in advance. The day of my appointment, the technician says there is a crack in the glass and my appointment would need rescheduling. I then made a new appointment for the same week, only to find out they brought the wrong part to my location. He calls another location and says he can meet up with the tech to grab the correct part but it would be a couple of hours. Once he finally meets with the tech (I'm still waiting at work, mind you.) he calls me and says "I know you're going to be mad, but the windshield has a crack in it. Do you want to reschedule?" Are you kidding me? I have given plenty of chances to this location and I took my business elsewhere. This company has no showed twice on me now. My appointment was originally for last Thursday, I rearranged my schedule to be home in the time frame they scheduled me but they never showed up! They even called and confirmed my appointment the afternoon before. I called and was told they have no idea why but someone cancelled my appointment in the system. The receptionist even remembered calling me to confirm the afternoon before. I was understanding and they rescheduled for today. Again, they never showed up!!!! My appointment was between 8:00-12:00 and nothing. I just called to speak to the manager and was told she was on a business call and they would call me back. Only reason I am even putting up with Safelite is due to my insurer. The service has been unsatisfactory to date, first appointment I dropped off my vehicle at 8am to only find out they did not have the actual part in at 3pm!!! And only found out once I called for an update; as it was getting late in the day and I was a good 40 min drive away from their shop. To make things worse, the front lady unapologetically said they "tried" to reach me but could not get thru, even though I had no missed calls nor messages or emails the entire day; whatever happened to leaving a message??... After that I asked them to please schedule me at a closer shop which they did efficiently; however I immediately received confirmation email plus an extra one stating that there could be delays due to supply chain issues; but not to worry and they would let me know ahead of time if we needed to reschedule.. fast forward a week and a half later and I call them a day before to check all is still in place for my following day appointment; to my surprise I'm told there was no appointment in the system, the glass part had not come in yet and for some reason nobody had contacted me again!!! I guess they were planning to give me the surprise when I showed up in the morning; sad thing is no ETA either... Safelite may have a competitive offering price wise, but their customer service for scheduling and following up is definitely poor.. the fact that the number you call into is a centralized one not tied into the actual office you are using may cause a lot of gaps for good follow up on special cases like mine that require less common windshields they may carry stock on.. read more
