Had an appointment scheduled at 3pm on a Monday (5/4). I showed up at 2:50. I needed to wait in the lobby for the car. At 4:40 my car is still in the same parking spot. I complained to the person at the desk and the response was in effect that safelite purposefully overbooks their office in case someone cancels. What an absolute poor way to conduct business. It's now nearly 7pm and my car still isn't done. The absolute worst experience. Never again. Need to change their slogan to "Safelite Repair....Safelite YOU WAIT!!" I understand occasional backlog or something goes wrong...but this is apparently how the company does business. Recommend checking out alternatives such as Very Smooth Auto Glass, NuVision Auto Glass, and Glass America. Never again with this company So my wife had a crack in her windshield and learning from the nightmare of bringing your car in I scheduled a at home replacement. Took a day off of work in their scheduled day to replace the windshield, the technician called to say I need to bring my car in because of the "special diagnostics needed for recalibration". I brought her vehicle in, dropped it off and got a call that the windshield they had in their shop to replace mine had a crack in it. So I had to drive back to the shop pick up my vehicle (still with broken glass), while there they rescheduled my home service and confirmed that they can do the whole recalibration at home. Scheduled for Thursday. On Thursday morning I get a call that the windshield isn't ready and they have to reschedule to Saturday...Friday evening I get a text saying that there is a delay in delivery. So I have no rescheduled 4x (and counting) and it's been 4 weeks with a broken windshield. Please avoid this company like the plague. (Saying you're sorry and doing nothing to change is insulting). read more

Exceptionally poor service, communication, and management. Hired Safelite Frederick to replace 2015 Toyota Sienna windshield. They provided me with 4 hour installation window, and no one showed up - making me miss a day of work. This happened again three more times - no apologies offered, only excuses. The one bright spot was the very courteous tech who finally showed up to replace window. However, this satisfaction was short lived. After he departed, saw that the rubber gasket that goes around the windshield had not been seated and glued properly AND that the windshield wiper arm had been bent!!! Took another four weeks to get these matters resolved due to uncaring and unprofessional local management. My request to get reimbursement of the $100 co-payment I made, to make up in a small way for the four days I had to miss work, was never made despite the service manager saying he would consider it. If you have the option, AVOID SAFELITE FREDERICK!! read more

Just an update. After temporarily jerry rigging the window closed, I received the regulator a few days later from Rock Auto. I followed the instructions from a You Tube tutorial and was able to replace the regulator in less than an hour (big ups to ErictheCarGuy). Safelight repair, my butt. read more

Safelite came out to replace the windshield. At the end of the job they had to recalibrate and could not do so because the lights in our garage weren't bright enough. The tech said he would call us to let us know if he could return a couple days later. We didn't hear back. We called Safelite several times to find out the status. They scheduled us for another day. The morning of that day a tech calls and informs us that his vehicle is missing certain safety features and that he couldn't use that truck. He asked if we could bring the car to the shop. But that was not an option which we had previously explained. They scheduled us for another day between 8-1. Tech arrived close to 2pm. No apologies or explanations. He finished the job. We do not recommend safelite and we won't use them again. They lack customer service, professionalism and on top don't provide their technicians the tools they need to complete the job. read more

I do not recommend you wasting your time with this particular location. They will cancel and reschedule your appointment MULTIPLE times. I called to have a crack fixed. The repair guy came..... but the crack continued to get worse. So I scheduled to have my window replaced. That appointment ended up getting canceled the day of and rescheduled for another day. When a tech finally showed up for the appointment the window he brought with him was already broken. So I had to schedule another appointment. That was rescheduled twice, the day of, before I decided to go to the physical location for better luck. They replaced my windshield and sent me a recalibration certificate. The next day Im getting SERVICE messages for safety features attached to my windshield so they did not in fact recalibrate my windshield. The day after getting my windshield replaced, I have to schedule a warranty appointment. To date, that warranty appointment has been rescheduled THREE TIMES. For a total of four attempts. And when they cancel your appointment they do not call you. they just text you a new date and say someone will arrive between 12-5pm. Hopefully someone shows up to the warranty appointment. They do not replace with OEM glass by default. Their "equivalent" glass is softer, and it's very easily scratched and chipped. My new windshield has been on fewer than 3 months, and there are already some smaller chips and scratches from me barely driving the car (due to COVID). My OEM glass lasted 3 years without so much as a light scratch. I'm extremely disappointed with the quality of their glass. Even the minor scratches become a distraction when they catch the light, which makes for dangerous driving conditions. read more

I had my windshield replaced by Safelite. When it rains, it rains not only outside but inside my car too. Do not use them if you can avoid it. Unfortunately my insurance company uses Safelite because they're cheap. They do a shotty job and now I'm waiting for the repair to be repaired again. Do not use them. I used a mobile service out in Frederick, Maryland because that's where I temporarily was for a few days. It was the worst. The guy complained about the heat and I had a garage that he didn't want to use. I had a feeling it wasn't done right but the rain prove me right. read more

I started to schedule online. Liked that I could save and start again online, as I was going out of town. Finished appt online and found coupon which was accepted online. Drove to location. Saved the mobile service fee 35. 00$. Also did not purchase wipers, or have coating put on. Professional staff. Done in about 30 minutes. Warranty is only in effect for current owner. If I sell my car then warranty is void. There are stairs to second floor office. At Wormans Mill. If you have issues that prevent you from using stairs make sure to advise. Windsheild looks great and I would recommend. read more

Had a chip repaired at their shop. Took me in immediately and was finished in about 20 minutes. Great job and I would recommend them.

The guy come to my house to replace my windshield took 30 minutes for one guy to do it. I come home to find the valance screws not tight, my antenna not completely screwed on, door not completely closed, XM antenna left crooked not put back in place, a substance on my A pillar such as blood between glass and windshield, trash inside my truck, nothing was wiped down before placing the new window still dirt under the rubber around the window, placed a nice chip in my paint on my on roof of driver side and I noticed a lump in the rubber around the window on driver side, I look under to see he cut my satellite radio antenna twisted it together and stuffed it under the rubber. This job was a fast careless job. I am not happy, I take care and pride in my truck, just had it detailed for vacation the weekend before. I called them the manager says they will take care of it so I guess we will see what that means once I come back from vacation.j read more

The service provided by the technician, whose name is CHANCE, was SPECTACULAR! He arrived at the top of the 5 hour window (Noon to 5PM) which was a plus for me. TY! He was professional and it showed immediately because he took the time to explain what he would be doing. He left the car (which had been professionally detailed prior to his arrival) in excellent condition and cleaned up around the work area. More importantly, he took the time to explain again what he did, double-checked the (passenger side) window was working AND ***closed the appointment by explaining that little pieces of the shattered window remained inside the door, in an area to which he did not have access, and he wanted to make sure I knew that every now and again a little piece of shard would role out of a drainage opening in the bottom of the door. CHANCE IS FABULOUS! I greatly appreciated his professionalism from start to finish. Suggestions for SAFELITE: (1) SAFELITE needs to have live Customer Reps. I was forced to "blindly" schedule my appt via the website because no "live" person answered and I couldn't leave a message. Even when clicking "Customer Service," I still received a recorded message directing me to the website. (2) I don't have a garage or carport and had to wait 96 hours for my car's window to be replaced. SAFELITE should provide the possibility of current appointments being able to move up in the schedule if there are cancellations (and make the customer aware of this protocol if it's ever offered). I backed up my car and ran into a parked car across the road and hit it in a perfect spot. The side mirror of that car tapped my rear window and shattered it into a million pieces. It made a lot of noise and a big mess. I thought fenders were crushed. Fortunately for me and the car across the street it was just my window that was damaged. I contacted Safelite on line and was able to make an appointment at the first available time for them to fix my window. A very pleasant and competent serviceman came on time, had all the necessary supplies, was able to complete work very timely, accommodated the rainy weather and did work in my garage, cleaned up the broken glass and left me happy with a new window that had working wiper system. No complaints; so far, so good! Easy, online ($25 discount vs. non-online) appointment made for same day (11/29), approximately an hour out at the Safelite facility. Arrived a little early and Mike (performed the repair) promptly inspected the windshield chip/crack and explained the repair process, etc. I then relaxed/read in the clean, comfortable reception area, where Dwayne handled the paperwork. As Mike advised, the repair took about an hour, and appears to have been well done. Throughout, both Mike and Dwayne were courteous, kind and professional. :-) read more

I brought my car to Safelight today to have a small repair done from a rock hitting it yesterday. The repairman said that it is a possibility that the glass could become even more damaged when they try to repair it because of the machine they use. But he said it should be fine it is rare. 20 mins into the repair I was told to go into the work bay because it doesn't look like it's going to hold. When I got down there the repairman said nope it won't hold and you'll have to get your windshield replaced because when we put the machine on it, it cracked further. I do not for the life of me understand how you can tell me it is a rare occurrence then tell me oops we made it worse. Then it becomes my liability. No way. I had another small rock problem when I bought the car from the dealership that I pointed out to the dealer to have fixed before I bought the car and they managed to fix it without a problem. Why can't a company that does this all day everyday do the same. I am highly confused right now about how this becomes my responsibility. I do not suggest using this company. They seem so nonchalant about it like they know it's going to happen or it happens everyday. read more

The people that run this store are the most inconsiderate and incompetent people i have ever, my experience with them was terrible and i am very dissapointed in their service. After cancelling my first appointment because they showed up and left without any notification i rescheduled to bring my car to them the next day. When i got there they told me they had returned the window and that i would have to come back the next day. If you have a European make car, I would caution against using Safelite. I have a BMW 328xi and once they took the windshield out and replaced it they couldn't get the cover over the rain sensor and the wires behind the review mirror back on. I had to drive may car to the shop, spent 2 hours waiting and they never got it on. So, the idea of having them come to me was completely defeated. Now I still have to make an appointment at a BMW dealer 35 miles away and incur the cost of having them finish the job. read more

Three days after new windshield installation from safelite, a tiny nick in glass overnight turns into a crack covering half the windshield. Safelite in frederick refuses to believe stress from a bad installation job caused the damage. Tiny nick, should not become 3 foot crack overnight. They refused to give me any refund. read more

This happened about 8 months ago but forgot to post it. Dropped off my BMW 6 series at around 10am on a Saturday, and picked it up at around 2pm that same day. Great job was made. Clean and they even put my EZ Pass transceiver to the new windshield. I was told by a BMW service center that the rain sensor may not work if not using a non-BMW OEM windshield replacement. A few rainy days of driving proved the BMW service center wrong. The rain sensor is working as they should be. Other great thing about Safelite is how courteous technician was. A+ service. Price wise, I paid about $500, only a third to what the BMW service center quoted me. read more

Unfortunately in the last 2 weeks we have had to replace a back window and repair a windshield. We contacted our insurance company to replace the back window. Our insurance company set up an appointment on a Friday afternoon to replace it. The tech called us at the end of their appointment window to tell us the glass was damaged and that we wouldn't be able to use it and we'd have to wait through the rain of the weekend till Monday to replace it.i marked this up as shit happens but. Then last Friday my wife was driving when a rock chipped our windshield. We called our insurance company and they again booked us an appointment with this sad company. An appointment was made for yesterday and that someone would have to be home "in case" they had to replace the glass. So yesterday I took off work in the morning to met their appointment availability only to get another call at the end of their appointment time to say there was an error in the booking and that they wouldn't make it out. We were assured that we would be their 1st appointment on Tuesday for our inconvenience. So after taking another morning off work we get a call from the tech saying he would "TRY" to get us in this afternoon. Then proceeded to remind us that we made the appointment on Monday and he'd do the best he could. We cancelled the appointment and a would advise everyone else to do the same! Had windshield replaced, left car in garage until next day, I went to drive the car and that's when I noticed the rear view mirror was loose. I called safelite and they told me to bring it in and they would fix it. I went to shop and they tried to push it on the bracket further and then waited for my response IT IS STILL LOOSE !!!!! So then they decide to remove it and tell me that the metal clip needs to be bent, they do that and I look at it and the employee at safelite tells me to be careful with it and don't grab it !!!! As if it was fragile, I was just adjusting the mirror.. Now the mirror has fallen off.. Awful service and lies !!!!!! read more
