Over the years I have had six windshields replaced from Safelite and have been happy with the service. However, now that I am trying to get the seventh windshield through them my experience has been absolutely horrible. I recently bought a 2026 outback and three days after I bought the car, a rock hit my windshield and it started to crack after contacting my insurance company and Safelite. I scheduled a replacement. I got an email and a text message from Safelite telling me that my windshield had not come in yet and they canceled the appointment about a week later I called and was told the windshield was in and they rescheduled me. I brought the vehicle in only to find out that the windshield was not there. I have tried calling them numerous times and they have this new AI scheduling thing. Will you never get to speak to a person I've had to drive over to their location clear across town and inquire about the windshield in person in order to get any response. The last time I was there I was given a card for one of the managers and told I could use that number to contact. I have tried calling this number several times and never gotten an answer or the courtesy of a returned. Phone call in spite of having left messages. To be clear, I am not upset with Safelite for the windshield not being available. Apparently Subaru has this windshield back ordered so this is not safe. Life's fault. What I do fault safely with is their new set up where you can't speak to anybody about your appointment. As a result, I have gone to have my windshield installed twice only to find out is the windshield is not there nor can I call and verify that it's there before I go and show up as I have already started the insurance claim with Safelite, I feel kind of stuck with them for this windshield replacement, but I will never use them again. read more

Horrible customer service experience. I was given a refund time and date for the repair and they never showed. I wanted to call them but finding their phone number on the website was a chore because they don't want you to speak to a human. Once I got the phone number I had to slog through AI generated phone messages to get to an actual human. That person gave me yet another phone number and the person I spoke to at that number was no help at all. They said the technician was never scheduled and that they didn't have the windshield needed anyway. They said they would call me back once they figured out what was going on. Three days later I got tired of waiting and called Safelite back and they told me it would be another two weeks before they could schedule another appointment. I told them I would look elsewhere. I won't be using them ever again regardless of who recommends them. read more

If | could give 0 stars I would. They broke my camera mount and taped it back on. They were no shows for 3 appointments after that. Shame on me for giving them so many chances. They never answered their phone. If I had a time machine I would go back and go with another company. Please take my advice and go with another company. They will ruin your car! read more

I'm sorry for the lenght but I want to explain everything. In the past I went to the Washington location but when making my appointment the location wasn't there. I thought maybe they closed. My neighbor told me in the past not to go to this location, other reviews say don't go. I wanted my windshield fixed before getting worse. When I dropped my car off the guy wasn't flat out rude but clearly wasn't concerned about good customer service. He took the key and said I would have a deductible. I don't have this done all the time so I thought he was mentioning it for a worse case scenario. He didn't look at the car while I was there. My insurance person said that they should be able to seal the damage at no cost. When I answered the question for the appointment I said it was a bullseye, not bigger than 6 in. I sent in pictures of it. I don't remember being asked if I wanted to replace the whole thing for the appointment. When it was done, someone called and told me the cost so I asked if it was not able to be fixed. He said "well you requested a new windshield when you made the appointment. This is something that should have been brought up when you dropped it off." Then I told him I would pick it up later. His response "What time later? Our last appointment is at 1pm. We can't just stay open to wait for someone to pick up a car." He offered to pick me up but I have 3 kids with me at the moment. I had my parents come and my dad took me. My dad looked at the car and was worried about a strip that was bubbled in the middle. The guy said it was fine and not to worry.... Now my POV of what happend. 1. Having worked in customer service I was always taught to be friendly, and good service means taking an extra step. 2. If I had made a mistake when making the appointment and requested a new windshield, good service would have noticed it was not necessary and suggest a seal instead of replacement. 3. The phone call was just plain rude. I understand wanting to leave work early but the conversation should have been different. But I'm confused by this too. Online it says they close at 5pm. If they are closing early does that mean they don't take last minute appointments, or walkins? That's seams unusual for a big name business. read more

Currently waiting for 2+ hours for a single chip repair. Made an appointment, arrived 10 minutes early, and went for a walk when I was told it would take 30-45 minutes. Came back 45 minutes later and realized my keys were still sitting on the counter and the car hadn't move. Let the service tech know that it's been 45 minutes and the car is still in the parking lot. That's when they actually took the keys and moved the car into the empty repair area. Still waiting an hour after that. Watched a dude come in and get his entire windshield replaced in half the time I've been waiting. Place seems really disorganized. Staff is very nice and polite, but the slow wait is brutal. I could tell the technician knew they messed up. read more

This is the Safelite Warranty from their website: "Insurance ease for peace of mind And every windshield replacement is backed by a nationwide lifetime warranty on parts and workmanship that you won't find anywhere else. We're confident that we're the best at what we do and we want you to have that same confidence and peace of mind." Sounds like a great warranty doesn't it? If only it was true... I had a new windshield replacement when a 28" crack appeared on the driver side. No impact mark, it just cracked. This is undoubtedly the result of defective glass or bad installation, "parts or workmanship" as stated in the "Nationwide Lifetime Warranty". However, Safelite will not honor their warranty because there is a star chip on the other side of the windshield about 48" away. The star chip has absolutely nothing to do with the crack on the driver's side but according to Safelite, "this voids the warranty." Think about this, you can have a new replacement windshield and a month later it cracks for no reason so bad that the driver's vision is obstructed, obviously bad glass or bad installation. You set up a warranty appointment with Safelite and take it in. Before you take it in, someone throws up a rock and puts a star on your windshield, you're warranty is voided and you're out the cost of a new windshield. From the moment they knew it was warranty work I got the feeling they were looking for any reason not to honor it. The bottom line is, the glass and/or the installation were bad, this is an undeniable fact! The warranty wording in their advertisements is purposefully misleading which allows them to find a way to avoid honoring it. Secondly, they did not remove my toll road pass from my old windshield and put it on the new one so I had to replace it at my own cost. Third, they did not correctly install the rain sensor so my wipers do not go on automatically when it rains like they're supposed to. Fourth, they broke or did not install a top corner piece of the windshield trim and it fell off. The windshield leaks at this corner whenever it rains or snows. At any given time I own about 8-10 vehicles and exclusively used Safelite through my insurance for repairs and replacements but I highly recommend you find someplace else for vehicle glass like I have. At the very least I suggest you avoid the Safelite location on Juan Tabo in Albuquerque. read more

Filed a claim with ins, they said the chip doesn't need repair and still billed the ins company

Pretty terrible experience. Made an appointment and arrived early to drop off my truck. Guy at the desk says someone will be right up to check me in. I waited in the lobby for 40 minutes and still no one had come up. Awful service. As soon as you tell them it's through your insurance, the customer service dies. Definitely recommend a different location. read more
