Astro glass had the windshield I needed in stock. i was told i could walk-in during their business hours and have the windshield replaced. i arrived, unscheduled, and was taken right away. i ended up tinting the 2 front car windows and a visor strip across new windshield with the ceramic tint. It ended up costing slightly higher than i was quoted at a tint shop, just for the tint, not including the new windshield. The work was quick and well-done. I was in a rush to resolve the window issue from afar while I was out of town, so I went with the first business who answered my inquiry call. Sure, the service was efficient as suggested, but their business model is crooked and misleading. On the phone they said their diagnostic fee was $65, and if it was a simple issue with the power window slipping out of it's assembly, the fix would be quick and would apply against the diagnostic fee and cost nothing more. But if it's a regulator issue, she said, it would take longer. This language was rehearsed and deliberate and implied diagnostic fees applied toward repairs... Until they gave me a regulator diagnosis, with a repair cost of $315, and retained the diagnostic fee in top of that. Over $400 to fix my basic power window issue is lame enough, but crafting their misleading language to cover up an objectively money-grabbing business practice puts them on a par with the legendary charlatans of Brake Mastery. I will never go back here, nor recommend them to anyone else. Absolutely shameful. read more

I replaced my windshield at Astro World and within a month I got a crack. I took it back to be repaired but the employee cracked it more. I wasn't charged but was told I would be able to get a discount if I decide to replace it completely. I called to see if they would honor or made a note of it but they did not. I will not be taking any of my vehicles here in the future. read more

Poor service,they tell you-to be there first thing at 8am thinking it was an appointment , I was the first one there only to find out that it will take till possibly 2 pm before the car was done with just 4 windows tinted. They were taking other customers ahead of me. This place is so disorganized with terrible management, I drove off and found another tint business that set me up an appointment. I actually set this appointment up two weeks prior and found out that you drop your car off never mentioning that. This other place did it in an hour. read more

A few days my car was broken into at my apartment complex. The jerks stole all my masks, my work jacket that contained my AirPods in one of the pockets, some pocket knives and miscellaneous junk I had in my center console which included my spare key to my apartment. I have a bad habit of locking myself out of my apartment so I kept a spare key in the car in case of emergency. I immediately had to change my locks! Needless to say after calling around I found these guys on here they were one of the most reasonable quotes I got through this whole ordeal so I took i decided to go with them today. The staff was very friendly and helpful they even got the window tinted to math the others for an exceptional price. I was out the door within a couple hours and noticed they even went and vacuumed my vehicle to get the remaining shards of glass I wasn't able to. I sure hope I don't have to replace my window again any time soon but I know I'll be calling these guys the next time I need another auto window. They definitely did a great job! Thanks Astro! Wow, that was cheap and easy! Nothing like waking up to a mysterious crash in the garage. Turned out, my cooler slipped off a shelf and shattered my windshield, authenticating the Prius's "New Mexican Look". I didn't call around, I read some reviews, and Daniel said Astro was the cheapest in town. I called. $245 plus tax, that was lower than my deductable. Walk-ins welcome. Okay, then, problem solved. Aside from their immediate, quick service (they estimated two hours, done in one) and friendly employees, I was paid a special visit by the shop pug, Paco, who gently gnawed my knuckles and sneezed lil' doggie drool before the shop folks called him out. He was adorable, and a tad overwhelming. Had my windshield replace here on a recommendation. Overall, I'm a fan, but there were some hitches in my experience with Astro that didn't need to be there. On the initial call, the representative was helpful, but not all that knowledgeable. I was told Fuyao glass is Japanese, which is incorrect. Fuyao is a Hong Kong company. However, they accommodated my request for a different brand without fuss. During the process, Astro requested my phone number, to protect themselves against non-payment. While I understand from a business perspective why Astro would want to do that, particularly if they have issues with non-paying customers, as a customer, I can't say I appreciated that. The actual glass replacement was fine. Things went quickly, and I feel like I got a much better value for money with Astro than with Safelite, who I'd used in the past. However, Astro's customer interactions left something to be desired. Everything felt very transactional, and I didn't particularly feel as though they cared about my business. 5/5 for the actual work, 2/5 for customer service. read more

Very pleased with the quick and courteous service. I called wanting three glass shelves for our curio cabinet and was expecting our wait at least a couple of days. When I asked how long it would take, I was told about an hour. I can't remember the lady's name that took my order, but she was so pleasant and helpful in recommending the correct thickness of glass I would need. When picking my glass even the guys in the back couldn't of been more helpful, and the glass was put in a nice cardboard carrying case. Definitely a five star shop!!! read more

A few weeks ago my windshield got a ding I didn't see that spread into a crack a week or so later. Safelite quoted me at just under $500 for a replacement so I put the repair off for a while. I shopped around and saw Astro Autoglass had some good reviews and happy customers. I emailed them and got a response and quote from Margarette right away at HALF the price Safelite offered. I was able to get in the next day. Staff were helpful and polite and quick. I've been to this location for 2 separate car tints and a windshield replacement. The first two times were great. The last time I went in to get a tint I had to come back 3 separate times to get it replaced and applied correctly. It was really time consuming. I needed a new windshield for a car with sensors for things. They replaced it, recalibrated all the sensor stuff, handled the insurance claim. It couldn't have gone better, unless that rock hadn't cracked the windshield. Good people, knowledgeable, friendly. This is the second windshield they've replaced for me. I had just gotten a new windshield put in my 2002 Crown Victoria about a week before leaving up state New York to head home to Southwestern New Mexico when a rock came up and stared my new windshield around Albuquerque. I called Astro auto Glass and they said to come in no wait they will have the windshield fixed in no time. I went in and while talking to the tech he said I see the star of life on the back of your car are you ems. I said yes I am he told me thank you for your service. I told him it not a problem. I took my car to get a windshield due to it cracking and for some reason the original windshield for my car was more expensive then the wrong windshield they put on, which never made sense. I went to go pick up my car and my steering with cut or something because I never dropped it off like that. I called they said they weren't gonna do anything because for whatever reason, which I have photos showing my steering wheel was never like that when I dropped it off. which to me is poor customer service and they shouldn't even be in business if that's the case. They people at the front were very rude and disrespectful and called me a liar, they never denied doing it and just said they ain't gonna fix it or do anything about it and hung up on me. My car was broken into in ABQ in the evening and side passenger window was completely smashed. I didn't want to drive 60 miles home with no window in the sub-freezing weather so stayed over night. Went to Astro first thing in the morning because it was the only glass place I could find that listed Saturday hours. Showed up at 9 am when they opened and the car was done in less than an hour! They cleaned all the broken glass out of the car and even sorted all the glass out of a big pile of legos on the floor that got spilled when the break in occurred!!! I agree with Daniel W's review actual work is a 5/5 customer service at the front desk is a 2/5.. when I called because I was lost for directions.. the person that answered got defensive on the phone.. as if I accused him of not having signs out on Menual. I only asked a question. When we called later about a question on the tint the person we spoke with explained we had already been told once before. This was my 4th windshield at Astro, and my last. They used to be good, but the new owner "Rebecca" is horribly incompetent. All the guys who work there mock her behind her back. There is no management, and the guys sound like they are having a party back there. I was told if I showed up at opening time, I'd be done in an hour. WRONG. Two and a half hours! Even though I was in the bay first, the place quickly filled up. After I was there for about 2 hours, I hear a loud "OH F**K" coming from the shop. All the customers look at each other, hoping that wasn't referencing their car. Lucky for them it was mine, because the installer installed my windshield but forgot to apply the tint I paid $45 extra for. This is a good time to mention that they could not find the quote and quoted me a higher price. Not surprising since their "quote book" is completely disorganized and full of illegible handwriting. I gave them the exact time and day I called from my call log, but nada. About halfway home I look down and notice something in my cupholder-some weird part. Turns out it is the compass that attached to the rear view mirror. They broke it off and just left it in the cupholder ($62 to replace). About that time, I hear a weird noise and pull over, only to discover that the corner of my windshield gasket is flapping in the wind because it was finished in a hurry by Mr. Oh F**k and he didn't line it up properly so it isn't watertight, or any kind of tight. I had to pay a glass guy where I live (100 miles away) to fix it, to the tune of $100. My $185 windshield ended up costing me $347, and Astro Auto Glass won't even return my calls. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. By the way, Rebecca's son, who "runs" the desk, told me it took so long because one of their employees (Arturo) found some weird growth on his back and had to go to the doctor. I called Astro Auto Glass for a quote on my car windshield replacement. The lady asked how I had heard about them, when I mentioned that I had a "Amazon Coupon" she stated in a rather hostile tone that "that's geared for insurance deductibles" even though I mentioned that it clearly stated "$100 to spend on windshield replacement or insurance deductible" she then quoted me a price that was much more expensive than everybody else in town, even safe-lite! I believe that the cost was "adjusted" to compensate for the coupon. If this is the way this they choose to do business, I will not be using this company! read more

The front, driver-side window of my 2003 vehicle was smashed by someone under the erroneous impression that I would leave anything of value in my car. I solicited quotes from a couple glass repair companies. Astro responded immediately, offered a fair price, and did the replacement within 90 minutes after I dropped off the car. This business is wonderful! We were traveling up I25 in NM on a Friday on our way back to Wisconsin when a rock shattered our windshield. I called our insurance company, and after the first place could not repair our window until the next Monday, the agent then said she would try other shops. Mainly, because of the positive reviews. and I really didn't have a good experience with the nationally advertised guys that come to you're house. anyway...
