They had seamlessly loaded the contents of my 650 square foot apartment including large/heavy fragile furniture with glass (8 foot tall dresser with mirror weighing 250 lbs, and 50 galloon reptile tank) in about 1 hour. We promptly left via car to meet them at our new address in Philly, and they arrived at exactly the same time as we did. They unloaded the truck in about an hour again, and helped partially unpack and put items in the proper places, especially the furniture that would have been hard for me to move on my own later. I will continue to use Piece of Cake, and have recommended to several friends over the years that I have been using them. It was quick working with the customer support team initially to quote the move, make payment, and on COIs and confirmation. When we move again in a couple years Piece of Cake will be the only mover I call. My recommendation to others considering the service, be transparent and honest about the contents of your move, especially items requiring extra protection even if there is an additional fee involved. There were no surprise add-ons in my move because we carefully selected every single item that would be included in our move early on in the process, and made sure to reply in detail to the follow up emails regarding insurance, access to the apartments (stairs vs elevator, reserved elevator, etc.), and so on move-in day everything went off without a hitch. At the time of the order, I had no idea they were in Brooklyn. The site is clean and all the information is readily accessible. One can guarantee that this website did not cost a lot of money, but it works. One of the best things about this company is that they have pre-prepared packages of boxes, tape, etc. divided by room and/or rooms which makes it a little easier. They have boxes for junk, boxes for tvs, boxes for lamps - are you following me here? They have supplies for moving - tape, blankets, plastic wrap, paper. So I go online and make my order (FREE shipping by the way on everything!) and expect it to come in a couple days according to the site. After the confirmation of sale is where it gets good. 30 minutes pass and I get a call from the company saying they can deliver today, the same day, in the late afternoon. OK. One hour later I get another call that they can deliver right now. Yes please. Approximately three hours after I ordered many, many boxes, they arrived in perfect shape. Having no idea this company was in Brooklyn, I guess I should consider myself lucky. The customer service was fantastic and the boxes have been working just fine. Even after all this time, Aron was quick to respond and connected me with Jacob. Jacob has been fast, communicative, and accommodating. I'm happy to report the firm remains just as committed to a superior moving experience. I hired them to move furniture from a storage unit in New Jersey to my apartment in Brooklyn. Before the movers started loading, I personally walked through the storage unit and pointed out everything that was supposed to be transported. Despite that, one of my largest items, a standing mirror, was left behind. What made the situation even worse was the conflicting information I received. When I asked where my mirror was, I was initially told it was in the building lobby. Later, I was told it had never been transported because it wasn't on the inventory. Those explanations contradict each other, and no one took responsibility. The move also resulted in damage to my carpet and trash can. Several of my moving boxes were crushed, and my sofa was wrapped so poorly that the protective wrap had already come apart during transport. Instead of addressing these concerns, the company responded with excuses and attempted to shift responsibility. Another thing that stood out was that payment was required before the move was fully completed. Looking back, I understand why. Once they had been paid, there seemed to be very little interest in resolving the problems. If something goes wrong during your move, don't expect accountability. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company and would never use them again.

The crates stack up very neatly, unlike cardboard boxes, and are much easier for the movers to move. The drop-off and pick-up were punctual and flexible. We originally booked for two weeks - took one week to pack, two days to unpack. BoxUp was able to pick up the crates early and get them out of our way. Reuben did the drop-off and pick-up and was very professional. BoxUp also conveniently offers other packing material to be delivered with the crates. The green wrap was perfect for small pottery pieces, and the bubblewrap was great to protect art. Looking forward to booking BoxUp again when we have to move!

We explained where we was moving from and to and the amount of items we had. The company told us all we needed was 2 movers. Everything sounded professional and great until the day of the move. We expressed a time of 10am because of alternate side street parking. The movers (who were contracted by BEM, Admiral Van Lines of Brooklyn and Bayonne, NJ) showed up at 9am and complained about the alternate side parking rules. As soon as the first mover (the ring leader) walked into the apartment it was an issue. He stated that our move was not a 2 person move and also that it was $300 for 2 hours and $100 each additional hour ALONG with a host of charges that was not explained to us by BEM. After going back and forth on the phone with Nadia and in person with the mover, we were told that we'd pay what we was quoted by Nadia, the mover started moving items (at 9:25am). Immediately they started being EXTREMELY rough with our property, throwing stuff around and THEN refused to pick up certain items (two book totes that myself picked up ALONE). Then all of a sudden they had no room in their truck (which was BIG) for all of our items, so I walked out to the truck and seen that there was roughly 1/3 of the truck filled with items that was NOT ours! Well there goes your space. OH and I forgot to mention, a 3rd mover magically appeared which we did not agree to. FURTHERMORE, the lead mover tried to hustle me out of my Dewalt Drill because his ceased working citing that we were getting a discount and that I should give it to him FOR that discount. UNREAL!!!! Now we get to the new apartment, he throws a fit because of the floor we were on, WHICH WAS NOTED BY US TO NADIA, so there should not have been ANY surprise. Their rough moving ways continued in the unloading. After unloading, the ring leader then DEMANDED a tip! I was appalled by all of this, then some manager (whos name we did not ever get) called us and basically told us to pay whatever....ABSOLUTELY NOT, after several attempts we got a hold of Nadia again. Now the move completed at 12:42pm, that's 3 hours and 17 minutes of moving, we was charges $435 which again did not match our quote because the mover wrote he finished at 1PM for which he did not. I was STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS AGENCY. I don't know how they got good reviews up to this point!
