Unfortunately, right after they left, the couch leg collapsed. I contacted them, and one day later, sent a person who worked very diligently to fix it. He admitted to accidentally breaking it. I said, no problem as long as it's fixed. That couch wasn't even four years old. It's a name brand. However, it broke again on May 28th. Throughout the whole process, I remained polite, professional, and most of all kind and pleasant. Maybe this was my mistake. I sent an email with several pictures, and my contact person said that all communication with us is ended since the insurance company will now handle it. She attached a claim form. But the claim form didn't have a number or the name of the insurance company. I finished the claim form and sent it to them one week later. I requested confirmation of it. Nothing. I sent another email requesting confirmation. Nothing, no reply. Two weeks later, not hearing anything from an insurance company, I sent another email requesting the insurance company's name. Nothing. No response. Even though I had told them that since I injured my back, I worked on that couch. It's how I made my living. Why have they ghosted me? I would NEVER hire them. It is now July. My couch is still broken. They are taking no responsibility whatsoever.

Upon entering our apartment, one of the movers, before even introducing himself, wanted to know if he could take the window a/c units home for himself. They spilled coffee all the way down our landlord's steps and now she's asking us to pay for a $250 cleaning bill. They complained to us the entire day about having to move all the boxes and furniture (you know, they job they were hired to do). At our new home, they left garbage everywhere and our large furniture items upside down and left in shrink wrap. They damaged or destroyed so many pieces of furniture, including tearing a huge hole in our couch. They slammed down a box that was clearly marked fragile; every glass inside was carefully wrapped in foam and paper, but their extreme treatment still shattered a glass into a thousand pieces. And since they have the payment, they don't care; they refuse to answer or return our calls now. Oh, and they don't inform you until the end when they demand payment the same day that they will upcharge you if you try to use a credit card. I can't recommend other movers enough. Stay clear of Morrissey Moving unless you want the quality of service you can get from random bums on the street.

I made several calls and even had another company try to undercut their price, but I'm truly glad I chose The Moving Genie. For just a few dollars more, placing value over price, the peace of mind was absolutely worth it. I hired them to move my belongings from one storage unit to another, and they exceeded my expectations in every way. I had tremendous anxiety about the move, but they immediately put me at ease. They arrived on time and I was impressed with the size of the truck they showed up with--so much so that others in the storage facility seemed impressed as well. They were able to complete the move in under three hours. The team was clean, polite, considerate, and professional. They handled my items with care, paid close attention to detail, and had all the appropriate equipment to facilitate the move. Zero stress. Zero issues. Just an excellent move from start to finish. I'm extremely satisfied with my experience and would confidently recommend The Moving Genie to others without hesitation. They're officially locked in my phone for any future moves.

More importantly, since moving is such a high stress event and too many things can go wrong, I need a mover team who is very reliable and takes good care of my stuffs on the stressful day. Jerry and his team (3 people, father and son family business) did exactly that. Jerry is very responsive to my texts and calls prior to the move. My second move was interstates and I needed help moving from my apartment to a reserved Pods container. Jerry reminded me about things that I needed to prepare which was very helpful. I was very amazed by their packing/loading skills and speed, especially impressed by their ability to tightly pack my 2 bedrooms apartment (I have a good amount of stuffs) into a container with the consideration of interstates transport. Shopping for a moving company can be a challenge. From first contact til we completed the move, Seamens was super helpful and professional every step of the way, and, by the way, came highly recommended by my new building as a suggested moving company. Many moving companies quote prices by the items you have, and provide a flat rate based on those items, which could increase or decrease on the day of the move. Seamens prices based on the hour, with a 4 hour labor minimum (and 1 hour min drive time). For certain types of moves, such as a large 1 bedroom like mine, this worked out perfectly for me. Once we got the ball rolling with their Sales team (Mike is awesome and patient), they provided the COI to the new building, and everything was super smooth. They showed up slightly early on move day, and was ready to go at the agreed time. The foreman (Oscar) was very knowledgable, professional, and communicated well throughout the move to his team, and to us as the customer. The team was careful with my belongings, and respectful to the property of both the pickup building and delivery building. I would definitely recommend Seamens for any NYC move.

There are tons of companies that will take small loads and combine with other small loads to make it worthwhile. I spent a lot of time researching, and I contacted lots of different moving companies. Many of them were desperate for my business, and frankly started harassing me by phone and email. Once I started digging further and reading customer reviews, practically all of them seemed to be horrific. As in the worst reviews I have ever read in my life, warning people to stay away, etc. Turns out that the majority of these moving companies are brokers who subcontract the job out to various other companies. In other words, you have no idea who will actually be picking your stuff up, who will be driving it across the country, who will be delivering, and so on. And so many people warned about their stuff getting lost or damaged and/or taking forever to finally arrive. I was actually about to just give up because I was not willing to take the risk. And thank goodness I found Cross Country Movers. They are a carrier, not a broker, which means that they do everything themselves and do not subcontract out any part of the job. I had a long phone call and multiple emails with Ari before I decided to hire them. He was patient and understanding and did not pressure me at all. Everyone with whom I interacted at this company was so helpful and accommodating. The two men who came to pick up my belongings at my mom's house in CT were wonderful. I received regular updates by text message with tracking info for the truck moving across the country. My stuff arrived safely exactly two weeks after pick up. And the fee was reasonable in my opinion - certainly less than I would have paid to rent a van and drive across country myself. I am extremely grateful to have found Cross Country Movers, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in a similar situation. It is so gratifying to know that there are reputable movers out there who provide personalized attention and care. THANK YOU, Cross Country Movers!

I moved because my application to Harvard got accepted, I will be getting my Masters Degree. And I was so excited of receiving this letter and I am still excited! My mom and my family were so happy, they were crying because it was a goal of my life to study in Harvard University. Because of this awesome news, I needed to move everything I had. I searched in Google, Yelp and mom helped to find the best moving company - Cross Country Movers. Why the best? Because of some things that other companies could not provide me with: 1. Knowledge of customer service. From the first I knew that this company cost a lot because of great customer service. A representative was very nice, professional woman who helped me answered all my questions. She gave me detailed answer for how to book, what to prepare and what to expect. I was satisfied from the beginning. Booking went very well too. A few days later I called her back and left a credit card for deposit and for the future references. 2. The day of actual moving. I could say that I am always late anywhere: business meetings, meetings with my friend. I wasn't expect movers to arrive on time. I would be absolutely fine with me 30 minutes before or after scheduled time. But no, they came at perfect time: 15 minutes to 10 am at the day of moving. They parked their truck, took all equipment and came to my apartment. I was moving from 1 bedroom apartment of 1050 sq feet. It is pretty big and I had so much stuff that I thought 3 movers are not enough. I was wrong. They finished loading within 1.5 hours not including packing. Packing took another hour. The movers were very fast, professional and east going people. I was very nice to work with them. They packed all my fragile stuff with special wrapping and all the boxes were bubbled from the inside and marked which room it belongs. 3. The day of arrival to Boston. The truck came to Boston in 4.5 hours. It's pretty fast according to heavy traffic. The unloading part went even faster. 1 hour and all my belongings were placed to the right rooms and all the furniture and mirrors were unwrapped and placed to the room as well. I would like to say thank you guys for such a hard work you did. I also would like to say thank the company who has these great guys able to work professionally.
