I needed to store my mother's items temporarily and Public Storage was highly recommended. It was so easy to sign up for a storage space online and reserve one without having to leave a deposit. They don't charge you until you actually show up with your items! Alexis called me the very next day to welcome me and confirm my move in date. She was very professional and answered all of my questions since I had never rented a storage facility before. She did a follow up call a week before my move in date as well as the day before. She was very thorough and I appreciated her making sure I was all set. When I arrived with my friend Vito, Alexis and Alysha came out to greet us and tell us where to park the truck. Alexis showed me the space then once it was agreed upon, Alysha recommended that I put a bucket of damp free pellets in the space to keep moisture, dampness and mildew out of my items. She was so sweet and ran up to the space to place it in the corner. These girls were very well spoken and represented Public Storage at its best. They answered every question I threw out them and took the time to breakdown the monthly expenses. *FYI: you will need to buy the lock for the space which was around $18 (a one time fee), and they recommend insurance for your items ($15 a month including taxes, with a $5,000 coverage). They also told me that they would be contacting me before the end of the month to see if I was staying or moving out. Alexis also gave me a discount on my space! Do not store your stuff here. They jack up rates consistently every few months until it is outrageously expensive. I can get a 10x20 for under $200 elsewhere, but here they are charging me now over $500 monthly. read more

I can't speak of the storage fees or the spaces but I have to give a major shout out to Dennay who was so very helpful in helping me purchase boxes, tape and rid it for moisture and dampness control. Dennay was so professional and customer oriented I had to give her a hug for being the same kind of customer oriented person I am but don't see a tremendous amount back in return. Any company would die for such dedication and professionalism as she displayed last Saturday! Treat her right and your business will continue to grow. I had my unit for 4 months and they just raised the rent by 33%.

First of all I'm on the second story storage unit the ladders barely move it's way shorter so you have to kind of jump in to the storage and jumped out this Sunday I was stuck in my storage unit the lights went off it was pitch black my phone was down below I had to find my way out of the storage unit find a ladder to jump down on it almost killed myself I have bruises all over got down had to go to the front door the lights went back on I go back up to finish what I'm doing the lights go back off I call security no one answers me I call U-Haul they can't help me needless to say I have bruises all over no one ever came to help me no one answered us management security finally answered and said the lights go off every two minutes how does that help me if I'm inside of my unit that's very dangerous they are liable for anything that happens a single female in a storage unit in the pitch black I had to basically leave my stuff thrown in my unit to get out of there safe also the gate has a motion sensor I'm walking in and out it came down and crushed my lamp once again management never returned my call or helped us in anyway while I was trapped in my unit in the pitch black read more

Absolutely horrible experience :( 1. Advertised a "first free month" and other discounts. The minute I set up a storage unit with them... boom all discounts gone and price jacked up. 2. Forced multiple fees on me. Making one summer of the smallest storage unit cost nearly $500. When the original estimate was less than $200. 3. HERE IS THE WORST PART: as I am checking out only 2 days into the last month, the move out price was discounted to $11 instead of $60. I even signed an agreement for that price. Yay! But wait.... several months later I get a letter to my house saying my account is delinquent and I owe $78 to public storage... WHAT??????? I never received any notice and I signed an agreement to my price, and now I am being harassed by collections to owe money that I DONT OWE! This place needs to be shut down. It's really horrible what they did to me :( read more

Beware of this unethical business. After only 6 months in storage they increased my rate by almost 25%. Nothing in documents prepares you for this. Not illegal, but very unethical. They know how costly it is to move to a better storage business. Keep away. read more

Initially attracted by their lower prices, I have regretted renting a storage unit here from almost the beginning. I have been renting a space here for about 2 1/2 years. Let me tell you my experience : First, about 3 months into my renting storage unit, the roof caved in after a heavy rainstorm and flooded the top floor, where I have my things. I got a call from the someone to come in to check out my unit,I did, everything was fine. About a month later, I went back with my roommate to retrieve something, and there were men on the roof repairing it. We heard metalwork going on above our heads when suddenly we were showered upon with huge metal chunks flying down from the ceiling! (the building is an old, tall warehouse with the top floor having at least a 20-30 foot ceiling) We ducked and ran and somehow escaped injury. We took one of the metal chunks that flew down,which was an old iron-beam brace, (it must have weighed about 10 lbs) to show the clerk on the main level. She just looked at us, shrugged her shoulders as if to say "what, your'e still alive, aren't you?" THEN, about a month later, my unit did get flooded from a burst pipe! There was about 6 inches of standing water on most of the entire top floor. It ruined my pillowtop mattress, but most everything else was saved because they were in plastice storage boxes. So they needed me to move to a different unit since they were going to have to clean all of the flooded units. They said to call ahead and they would get somebody to help me. Which I did, however when I got there, there was nobody to help, so I schlepped my stuff myself to my new 3rd floor unit. When I left the dirty unusable mattress in the old unit, they had the audacity to call me and tell me that they would charge a disposal fee since I didn't move it!!!! I told them nicely to go to hell and complained about the entire incident- after all was said and done they gave me a free month- woopie. So the next year or so was was quiet, when I got a call again for yet another flood- no joke! This time, there was a fire in a unit on the third floor and the fire dept hosed down a good portion of the building, fortunately most of the damaged was confined to the other side of the building, but I felt sorry for all the people who had those units. Next, a few months ago, they called to tell me that the unit next door was broken into and they thought mine looked tampered with and to please come in and check it out. Alas, everything was fine again, but it just seems like neverending bull**** with them. The final straw was last week when they sent me a letter with their intention of raising their rates for the 3rd time since I started renting with them, ironically enough to "maintain their high standards of service" Whatever you do, DO NOT rent a space from this Public Storage, I am moving my belongings out of there as soon as I can read more

Obviously, nobody cares to clean up the place. There are cut lock parts all over the floor, as it was the first of the month no doubt they were cut by staff and just left on the ground. The kicker was the human poop in front of the elevator service room, that anybody using the north first floor storage entrance could not miss. It's been there awhile. I was at this location for over three years, they always raised my rent every 6 months BY 30 %, so for every $1.00 I spent I had to pay 30 cents more every 6 months, that is a lot when you're starting price is over $400.00, so it would go up $120.00, then 6 months later $156.00, then $676.00 and so on. They still do this to this day. Always firing the help every 3 or 4 months, I always see NEW faces all of the time. The gate never works and you always get blocked in by some truck that should not be in there. I was lock in this place 5 times and need the police to get me OUT, very dirty to, I went to U-Haul next-door and it was so GREAT and I am still there, check out my review for them. Moved to New York from California, and it took longer than we thought to find a house, so we had to put everything in storage for about 3.5 months. We were happy to find this Public Storage facility while we continued house-hunting. We were able to drive a 20' U-Haul truck into the garage there and conveniently unload our stuff on the first floor. Everything stayed dry and secure in the storage unit, and Lyniece at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Only complaint is that there was no way to pro-rate the storage fee, so, we were charged for 4 months. Other than that, we are happy with our experience. read more
