It's no secret that storage facilities are expensive! I needed a closet sized storage unit and Saf Keep was running a special. Even after the special pricing expires, the rent will still be a lot more reasonable than other facilities. Along with affordability, this storage facility has some nice security with keypad entry and alarms on the doors of every unit. The downside (hence the 4-stars) is their hours. I rented a storage from them for my business needs. Since access is limited to certain hours, I can't always access my unit. While the hours aren't a dealbreaker, it does cause an inconvenience. The front desk guy, Robert certainly has earned his bad reputation on Google review and yelp. Obviously, he's limited in his intelligence and has a challenging time handling general public as well as simple tasks. The owner who chooses to keep Robert employed is fine with Roberts limitations so don't expect anything to improve. Robert likes to lie, he likes to threaten customers, he makes up rules that are not posted anywhere and then tries to enforce them. I really want to acknowledge the fact, Robert creates rules that don't exist, are not posted anywhere, and he cannot validate them or show examples in print but threatens you with the police if you do not participate in his games. I refused and he told me he was calling the police on me. He never called the police. The rules he tries to enforce are make believe in his imaginary world and if the owner wants a sweet lawsuit, if anyone did get arrested there, they could make some nice coin. Robert, you have to keep going back there every day. Keep imagining arbitrary rules and trying to enforce them. There's not a single review where someone has something kind to say about you. BEWARE! Storage Unit Renter! Del Ray Oaks Manager, Robert, lied to me! I specifically called him to ask what my final owing balance would be, if I paid the balance prior to Aug. 30, 2022. Robert informed me of the exact amount owing, which was accurate, & today when I emailed him, Robert informed me that my total owing is now $200.00 higher than he promised it would be! SaF Keep in Del Rey Oaks , CA and ints manager Robert sold all my things that I put into their storage unit on an auction. After losing my job during Pandemic I had to move for few months abroad to save money. I stored all my things in SaF Keep. There was only one failed payment during a year that I immediately corrected and contacted SafKeep with the request to resubmit the payment. They didn't respond and when I came back all my belongings were gone. There was just an empty unit. I was in shock! I am still in shock! Just Imagine losing everything!!! Literally everything I have been treasuring for years: all my documents including diplomas, birth certificate, my husband's death certificate etc., old family photos, my dead grandmother's and dead husband's things that I kept as memories, my collection of crystals, my art work, collection of paintings. Every day I feel pain of this loss. It was like losing significant others again as memories of them were sold. When I requested at least few things back ( the most important for me) I got nothing , of course. I believe that it was inhuman and unfair taking into consideration that it was Pandemic. Different unpleasant things might happen to people (illness for example). My pay was $40 per month. What I lost does not have a monetary value. The company prioritized its $40 profit over simple humanity. Shouldn't we be just a little bit more tolerant to each other? At least in time like this? This place is really clean and the employees are very helpful and generally just good people. I first spoke to Robert who helped me over the phone and met him when I got there to see a unit which he showed me. I then was helped by Jacqueline to register and rent out the unit. They both were extremely courteous. She recently actually got me into a larger unit within my budget so I was super grateful since I didn't have to move my stuff out or very far. It was a big relief because where I'm moving the work isn't finished for move in and I had a few more items to store. I'm somewhat shocked to be writing a review about a storage company, but Saf Keep is truly exceptional. I have had a storage unit at almost every location I've lived, and I move a lot. I have never been treated so well as at Saf Keep. I felt like their prices were fair (you can get a better deal if you aren't fixated on a certain sized locker). Ciro always remembers me and often helps me carry items from my car to my locker. He really makes you feel comfortable knowing that there's always someone on site to make sure your stuff is safe. Don't get me wrong- they're not making up for anything with customer service. They have a coded gate and individually alarmed units too. There are so amenities here! They will help you move in your things, offer a truck rental, and even sell/donate your things (if you'd like to save time). The staff had great customer service and are accommodating. For our move to another city, this location saved us so much of a hassle. I paid my bill on 6-16-16 and printed my receipt saying i was paid up until 7-8-16. Then i received other receipt 6-24-16 by email. Two days later that my payment was voided and that i needed to pay again and any late fees due. read more

This place is pretty standard as storage places go. They were friendly and made sure I got the size unit I needed. Their prices are not unreasonable however the $22 processing fee was annoying. You also have to pay this fee if you downsize units. read more

Was a little nervous to rent a storage unit sight unseen, but college daughter needed short term storage to transition stuff out of her Dorm in May to a campus apartment in August. She had to sign contract, Mom pay for it. I didn't want her signing anything until I reviewed terms. The site manager had no problem faxing a copy of the agreement to look at - standard wording - OK. My only issue was having to buy personal property insurance on her possessions through them. As a college student with our home still her primary residence she is insured under our Homeowner's - as is her personal property off premises. They required HER shown as Named Insured on the policy - ridiculous since she doesn't own OUR home, but is a covered insured on our policy - we had no choice but to cough up the extra 12 bux a month. Clear money grab, but whatever. In exchange for a 3 month contract we received one month free, pro-rated over the 3 month rental period, which saved money in the long run. Moving her things into Saf-Keep yesterday I was pleased with the condition and security of the premises - easy accessibility, no clutter, no 'smell' in building hallways - the unit was clean, very tall adding extra space to the 6x12 dimension of the unit. Staff is professional and friendly, the facility is in a nice, safe area. I give them 2 thumbs up. read more

Looked all around Monterey comparing storage units to find the best one. Saf Keep Storage was the best option I found! Not only was the price the best but they also offered a free moving truck (you just have to book in advance before anyone else does) which is awesome. No other storage unit offered this. They also have a guy who is willing to give a hand to help you move your items in your unit! Also another perk no one else offered. The unit looks clean and secure. The initial customer service was great.The terms and costs were made clear,and they easily honored advertised discounts.I was given a tour,and the premisies were clean and secure.I was going to be moving my boxes in on a Saturday,and although their included offer of 30 mins free unlaoding help was M-F only,I was assured that someone in the office would help anyway.Things started to unravel Saturday,when even though there were two people running the office,neither would help.I easily moved load one in on my own,but it was when we came back in the afternoon with the final load,things became stressful.My unit was on a second floor in the very back.Just before we got there,the elevator had broken.it took too long to find an employee with a dolly and there was no clear time given for the elevator to be repaired.We were in a time crunch as were leaving the next am, on a move to be near a critically ill parent.With no time to spare,we unloaded and carried very heavy items up steep stairs.By the time we had finished, the great experience of the first day had definitely been tarnished.The staff there would maybe have happier customers if their good service at the desk more smoothly extended towards the reality of client move in needs,requests,and promises read more
