Not only have my stored items been kept completely safe (yes, I use a disc lock & not a cheap padlock) but the staff here have been friendly and accommodating. Recently, I had a medical situation that caused me financial hardship. I was embarrassed to call but I believe good communication is important in situations like this. I called and spoke to Duane and he was so accommodating. Because of this and my past experience, I can highly recommend this place.

Each time putting me on a short waiting list making the times between the changes were acceptable. Right now Pacific Grove High School Alumni Association has a unit there. We purposely picked PG Storage because the location was convenient and it was inside with controlled temperatures. We have year books and other important papers that go back to 1888 when the high school was built. The hours to go are 7 days a week. It is NOT 24 hours but we liked that too. Everything went extremely well during my time there...until I sold my house and I wanted to pick up my stored possessions. They told me that I was responsible for paying each month in advance and if I vacated the unit before the end of the month they would try and re-rent it and give me back the pro rated amount, so I signed a document stating that. Then there was a wrinkle in the house sale so I kept the unit for another month, went back and vacated the unity and signed another form. What they did NOT tell me was that they have 2 forms: one gives you money back if you vacate early and they re-rent it, and another form that gives you no money back even if they do re-rent it. The second time they gave me the new no money back form without mentioning that was the case. So after being very happy for nearly a year...I left mad and totally disappointed with PG Self Storage.

My Unit was broken into back in February. I had no idea of the break in Unit I had gone to my unit to inspect it. No one from the staff had any idea that my unit had been broken into. Right away I was told to contact the Unit Insurance company. By the way they were quick to dismiss my claim because there was no damage to the storage facility!!! What freaken luck! Here I am am spending my hard earned money so that my property is safe and secure and my unit suspiciously gets broken into! The insurance company is a total rip off!! Every month I was paying the insurance fees for nothing! No help at all! This is a complete scam! It's all scam! I recommend anyone to just get there own insurance somewhere else, and not this east coast scam. Something shady is going on in here anyone that has a unit near the 4005s units corridor should inspect their units. Someone is going around and stealing your stuff. It is easy to look into the units and pretty much go window shopping and the workers don't know about it. In the end I even realize my unit was much smaller than what I was paying for. It was supposed to be a 8'X10" and in actuality was a 6'-9"x 10"-0" almost! The absolute worst experience ever! No one saw anything, the alarms did not go off, security cameras did not catch anything, sensors did not go off, staff did not catch anything, no damage to storage unit (how lucky for them), my items are long gone. Security failed miserably!
