Don't expect your rate to stay the same. When I first got my 10x10 in Nov. 2019 it was $195/month. They raise the rate every 6 or 12 months. This time they raised it--yes, for the same unit--from $310 to $423! I guess they don't want my money anymore. It was great incentive to move out. They did the same thing to a friend of mine. We miss Patty and Jeanne, who were forced out and replaced with a self-serve kiosk. The place is clean and my stuff was safe, but don't expect to stay long without paying outrageous prices. read more

I had a 5x10 unit for 14 years. I never had a late payment. Last month I went to empty my unit and the lock had been changed. The general manager lives in San Jose and wouldn't arrive until "maybe" Wednesday or Thursday. They had NO KEY for me when we finally got a hold of an assistant to open the office at another storage yard. ( we were there on a Saturday). We had to hire a locksmith to open the unit. This took up our whole Saturday. In the days ahead I called Public Storage about the fact they had no key for me since they had installed key locks and thrown my old pad lock inside the unit. I called 6 different times. The General Manager NEVER RETURNED MY CALLS!!! We paid $150 for the locksmith. This whole experience was a nightmare. I called and asked if there were plugs inside of the storage unit and was told no because it's a fire hazard. When asked why I wanted plugs I explained that I needed to store plants in the unit and was accused of trying to grow marijuana!! I'm so deeply offended that was where their mind went and that assumption was put on me. I understand that it's a fire hazard, that wasn't some knowledge I knew going into that. Now I feel like they not only made me out to be an idiot for not knowing that but I was accused of trying to grow marijuana! Seriously so unprofessional and offensive. The good: Front desk personnel (Patty) is great, storage unit and outside areas are clean, and convenient entry and exit. The bad and ugly: YOUR RENT IS INCREASED EVERY 6 MONTHS!!! They lure you in with the "One month for $1 fee", then, boom--hit you with increasing rent every six months! This information was not disclosed when I initially rented/signed the agreement. When I called and asked why this information was not disclosed, the feedback information I received was this: "rent is increased according to the increased real estate rental rates in the area", and this is "company decision, so there's nothing we can do about it." This philosophy is nothing but GREED--especially when there are so many people struggling/affected by the pandemic! If I had known this information from the very beginning, I would have looked for another place/company to rent from. read more

I have, without desire, had to deal with a lot of storage units lately. After my father passed away it seemed like all I did was visit, sort through, move, and pay for storage. Unfortunately I was not aware of my fathers storage units right away and by the time I was informed of the units, they had a hefty delinquent balance. Luckily Public Storage let me pay for the unit while I sorted out the legal work so I could avoid auction and additional late fees. It's extremely helpful that Public Storage has an online, over the phone, or in person pay policy. I'm sure you could mail in your payment too... but I never needed to. I want to point out that Public Storage did a great job protecting the rights of my father, although he had passed, by making sure I was in fact the correct person to receive the units contents. They did their job professionally with a friendly family-like approach. A HUGE contrast to their competitor next door. If I ever need storage in Del Rey Oaks again, I know where I'm going. read more

I have owned a lot of storage units and the best one was this public storage in Del Rey Oaks. We moved from Las Vegas to be by family and forgot one important detail.. storage. We were on highway to California and They were very accommodating. After arrive in California we were able to move right in. The pricing was great and the office staff was friendly and very helpful. I have recommended Public Storage to lots of family and friends and would use them again if ever in need for storage. read more

DON'T EVER USE THIS STORAGE FACILITY. Security is abysmal and the manager is useless. They made me buy their crappy lock, my unit was broken into, and irreplaceable items with very high sentimental value were stolen. When they finished robbing me they locked the lock again so the door to my unit looked normal. This means they had a key--no one who picks a lock is going to lock it again when they're leaving. This smells like an inside job. When I told the manager Patty about it she looked and acted totally guilty and showed no personal concern whatsoever. The cop said there had been several robberies at that Public Storage facility in the last few months with the same m.o. On top of that (and I am NOT making this up) someone - no doubt the thief - took a huge dump in the hallway outside my unit door. Never seen anything so disgusting in my life. STAY AWAY read more

For the last 10 years when I have needed a storage unit, I always call Patty and Jeanne at this PS location. They both remembered me after I returned to rent again. The personal, professional and helpful service you get when dealing with them is excellent. I have always received fantastic, prompt customer service from them and would not go anywhere else! What a wonderful place! Patty and Jeanne knew what they were doing. Helped me to pick a space that would fit my needs. I had rented a space many, many years ago and Jeanne remembered me from that time! It's been over six years! The property, while not a new place, was clean and well kept. I rented out a room a month ago to just store some of my belongings as I transitioned from one house to another. The lady who was renting the spaces was very nice and helped me out quite a bit. The only problem was that when I vacated the space no one took notice and I almost got charged for another month. Thankfully it was resolved and I didn't have to pay anything. Other than that I recommend you take this place, just make sure they know when your done occupying the space. read more

This public storage facility is conveniently located and easy to access. The site is very clean and well maintained as are the units. The on line reservation system made getting the unit easy. Management was very friendly and helpful. I would have given this site 5 stars except for a couple of features : Access aisles to the drive up units are a bit narrow, around 20' wide making it a bit tight and access hours are limited to 6am to 9pm and you need to leave the site by 9pm. Though I can work with these, they are minor inconveniences. read more

After I had already moved all my stuff in their c hanged their hours so that the units were only accessible during the hours an attendant was there which was hugely inconvenient. On one occasion I had to call the manager b/c no one was there even though it was business hours, they said they were at another property and I had to wait. Serious pain. My stuff is out now and I wouldn't use them again. Also they don't prorate so if you pay for a month and move out early you;re out of luck for that $$. read more
