I was so excited to see some frozen drink options besides rose and the John Daly did not disappoint. Had a very strange experience with the hostess staff here. My friend and I came in on a Friday morning. The restaurant wasn't really busy and there were a bunch of empty tables. However, the hostess informed us there would be a 45 minute wait! We were the only ones waiting. The hostesses just watched us stand there for about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, I asked how much longer and they said "well you started at 45 minutes and it's been 15 minutes so you have 30 minutes to go". We inquired about the tables that were empty and they said oh, they have reservations. So then, I had the idea to go onto OpenTable and make a reservation. Lo and behold, there were tons of reservations available right away. Then, I inquired with the hostess, "since there are reservations available online can you just seat us?" And they said "no you have to make the reservation on an open table and then we can seat you". So, I had to go onto OpenTable and enter my credit card number in, which took a while, but I did it, and then when I showed them the confirmation, they ended up seating us right away. In fact, they sat us in one of the tables they initially said were reserved. Anyway, our wait service and food was good. But, we were a bit miffed with the way that they handled the seating. read more

The host staff working here are let's say not the smartest. First there were reservations on their website for our party size available in the next 15 min and they told us we need to wait 45. Ok fine. When 45 min pass they finally set up our table and we ask for 2 high chairs. When the table is ready they just wave us over. Usually they walk you to your table. Then we notice there are only adult menus. If there are 2 high chairs at the table with 2 kids, wouldn't you think to bring kids menus? So I had to ask for that too and they sounded surprised we needed them. Maybe some critical thinking and friendliness would go a long way. They also don't ask how you want your burgers cooked so they all come out well done and dry. read more

I guess people that frequent the place are of the leisure set; it's in the very high end Highland Park Plaza. I say this because or server was in no hurry to bring drinks and food or even to bring and collect the check. I had a tuna melt and fries. The fries were excellent, thin, hot and perfectly salted. The tuna melt was cumbersome to handle as it was made on an everything bagel but in order to toast the bagel it was flat side out meaning the rounded edge was back to back on the tuna. Overall a slippery mess but it had a good flavor. I know a fly in a restaurant can be unavoidable but there was a particularly meddlesome one in the restaurant that day. Off putting, to be sure. One of my favorite brunch/lunch restaurants in both Dallas & New York. Their quality remains the same amongst both restaurants. I was really impressed by the Dallas location and how good everything was. Service was incredible. Our waiter was so attentive and prepared everything to our liking. I had wanted my tuna melt a bit heat pressed like a panini and he made it happen! Cocktails: Espresso Martini (By far; the best I've had) Food wise, I can recommend the: breakfast tacos, pigs in a blanket, and the tuna melt. I'm not sure why this restaurant has a 3-star rating. It still tasted good but we ordered bagels which is something you can find at any other breakfast place. I think you'd mostly come here for the ambiance and to chat over some coffee. Sadelle's is well known for its brunch, but we found the dinner offerings to be mediocre at best. Let's start off with the fact that there are very limited vegetarian offerings on the dinner menu. I had the Greek Salad, which was fine, but definitely not worth the $25 price tag. They do offer to mix the salad for you at the table which is nice! Service was decent. Our server was relatively attentive, but never really checked in on us. I will note that we came on a Saturday night and were able to be seated immediately and the restaurant was pretty empty. TL;DR - dinner is overpriced and very mediocre. read more

Looking for a place for girls' lunch, we dropped by what I'd heard was a great bagel place. Bagels may have been on the menu, but this is decidedly not a typical bagel shop. This is fine dining. With fine dining prices. The dining room is bright and airy, with calming colors and the service team of waiters and food runners was friendly and helpful. We both had their Aperol Spritz cocktail (I'm still confused by the addition of an olive to this drink) and I had their Cobb Salad, which, at $27 may be the most expensive salad I've ever had. The vibes and overall atmosphere of Sadelles are unmatched. This is one of the cutest spots in all of DFW and they know it with their prices. The salmon bagel that has put Sadelle's on the map is delicious, if extremely overpriced at $26, and the cappuccino is as smooth and artful as any cappuccino in a paper cup. Two things need improvement: 1. The service. I brought my work with me to the mezzanine, assured by the greeter that there would be a menu to order from. There was no menu, nor was I so much as acknowledged for 30mins despite several attempts to get waitstaff attention. Finally, I had to ask help from a fellow patron, who clarifed that orders are taken at the downstairs bar and brought upstairs. Also, tables should not stay dirty for more than five minutes; the table next to mine was dirty when I got there and still hadn't been bussed as I left just over an hour later. 2. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. I don't know what kind of "cheese" they slather on this thing; whatever it is, it's positively vile. It has the runny mouthfeel of Velveeta and the pungent, synthetic taste of Cheez Whiz or Kraft American singles, and after the first two bites I'd had quite enough. This is not acceptable quality for restaurant food, let alone "upscale" food, let alone a $12 sandwich; Sadelle's must either raise the quality of its fare or lower the prices thereof. read more

Sadelle's was a very good experience. The food was delicious and the service was quick. My friends and I got a reservation for Christmas Eve brunch. I was 2nd to arrive but immediately greeted by the waiter and my drink order was taken so that I had time to look at the menu. My friend had ordered pastries and the waiter recommended a Kouign-Amann which wasn't even on the menu but it was very delicious so that was a great recommendation. The place was very bright and beautiful and the atmosphere overall was inviting. After the brunch we walked over to the cafe area to have another drink and chit chat some more. This is my first time writing a review on Yelp and unfortunately it is not good... They want you to reserve if you want to brunch at that place and not wait for 90 minutes for a table. I did and reserve for 2. We showed up on time and checked in. The waitress seated us and it all went well, until I realized they charged me $100 for no show. You can't call them so you have to go back and speak to the manager and/or email them. I did all of that, and they told me they were issuing a refund of $100 in the next 2-7 business days for having charged me incorrectly . I am in day 10 and still no refund. I won't go back to that place. The food is great but not worth the headache. read more

Our meal started off on a very bad note. They post all over all of their media that they are famous for their Big Pink Cake. "They take 2 days to make".... "Entire cake for sale"... etc. So on Friday after Thanksgiving morning, before noon on the busiest traveler weekend of the year when every business should expect and be prepared for record crowds, I order a big pink cake slice and am shocked to hear that they don't have any???!!! How is that even possible? The holiday weekend JUST STARTED!!! There are still 2 1/2 days to go and you are out of the biggest promoted item in your entire menu???? I imagine all of the staff and managers were able to take a Big Pink Cake for their own Thanksgiving tables, too bad for the customers. Just another example of the gross incompetence in management of business in today's world. Demands for tips keep going higher and customer service and quality management continue to decline. Fortunately what items they actually did mange to have available were outstanding. It was one of the best brunches we have had. The hostess was incredibly unhelpful and told us the wait would be 45 minutes, even though the restaurant was half empty on a Thursday at 11:30am. While standing right next to her, I pulled up the OpenTable app, saw plenty of availability, and booked a table on the spot. I even showed her, but she still made us wait 5 minutes even though our table was already ready. She seemed really lazy at her job. Afterward, she gave some weird excuse and honestly didn't seem to be doing her job. Not sure if she was just having a bad day, but she came off as rude and dismissive. Definitely needs some retraining in basic hospitality. The food was average at best. FINALLY got to experience the hype! I came to Sadelle's in Highland Park on a Saturday for brunch with my bestie and we had a great time! We started with a bloody mary, and it was SO tasty! It had the perfect kick and I loved all of the pickled veggies in it. (My mouth is watering just typing this). We also got the salmon bagel tower and it was everything that we wanted and more. I had heard about it from friends, and am so happy that we were able to indulge! The presentation is 10/10 and very Insta-worthy. They serve it with tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, capers, and regular or chive cream cheese (pro tip: get both). We also split a side of potatoes and I got 2 over easy eggs. YUM!
