There is a long coffee flag so that's when you know that you are in the correct place. The different name on the building through me off. It's very spacious inside with plenty of seating. We were greeted and given menus which we then found a high top table, sat down and looked it over. We decided on the Alyssa crepes and morning glory sandwich. Allysa crepe- I would have ordered another plate if we didn't have another 2 hr drive to go. Between the fluffy eggs and the combination of the ingredients with absolutely mouth watering. I asked for hot sauce and it was complete. I would drive out of my way to come back here again. Morning glory sandwich- I don't know who raised these chickens to give such a different taste to them, but they were raised right. These were definitely happy chickens. Hard to explain but this sandwich and those fluffy eggs will keep you wanting more. Everyone there is so sweet and I'm happy to have had the experience of such an excellent breakfast. This is a rare find and I will be revisiting again.

When you walk in, you are immediately dazzled with all of the trinkets and supplements available for purchase, and lulled by the smell of coffee. The interior seating is tables and chairs that can be configured from groups of 1 to 10, or more. There's multiple display cases full of home baked goods, homemade pimento cheese, and other items. Their beverage options are wide enough for anyone to find something to drink. We are fast fans of their cold brew coffee. It is by far the smoothest cold brew I have ever consumed. Their food options slightly vary week to week, but most are in heavy rotation and you will soon know why - the quality is unmatched. Our most recent venture brought to our table a bear claw and a chocolate croissant. To say I was pleased is the understatement of the year. I was overjoyed with the amount of chocolate in the croissant. The bear claw has a tasty almond filling, and the glazed slivered almonds on top give a nice contrast of texture. You can't go wrong with anything inside the coffee shop, as it is much more than just coffee that is sold within. If you're in Badin during their business hours, it would be your loss if you don't pop in.

It was super convenient that they also sell lake hats and supplies so I grabbed a hat to keep the sun off my head and it was very useful!

They have some kids toys and a few other basic grocery items as well but perhaps as expected given their rural location and types of products it is not cheap. This place has a real community vibe and in non-covid times they have music and other gatherings with the great little outdoor space. A quick check of the map showed Nana's Coffee was right on our route, so it became an easy and welcome stop. The storefront is small and unassuming, tucked into a quiet stretch of road, but inside it opens up into a cozy space that doubles as both ice cream parlor and coffee shop. There are plenty of tables, and I got the impression they'd be perfectly fine with someone settling in for a while with a laptop if you're looking for a remote cowork spot with a bit of charm. We ordered a latte, and it was excellent. Generous foam piled high, with very hot coffee underneath that held its heat all the way through. The drink was well-balanced, not too bitter, and served with a quiet warmth that matched the atmosphere. Nana's Coffee may not be flashy, but it's clearly a place that values hospitality. Whether you're pausing mid-journey or looking for a low-key place to work, it's well worth the stop. The blend of ice cream, espresso, and relaxed seating makes it feel like a little pocket of comfort tucked into the day. [Review 1319 of 2025 - 4448 in North Carolina - 24871 overall]

The bigger challenge for me was the layout and ordering process. The location is drive-through only and the traffic flow felt pretty hectic with cars trying to move in different directions. It made the experience feel rushed and a little stressful, especially for someone visiting for the first time. I was also expecting the drizzle and toppings shown in the menu photos, but my drink didn't include them, so it ended up tasting more like a basic iced coffee. The staff member who took my order was polite, but everything moved quickly and there isn't much of a menu to review unless you look it up online beforehand. Overall, the coffee was decent, but the traffic setup and ordering experience made the visit less enjoyable than expected.
