We did a Western themed room, and everything was designed well enough to keep you engaged without overcomplicating things. We ended up with the fastest time of the week. It did not feel especially hard, so either we were way smarter than we thought or the room was a bit easier. Either way, it was a good time. The staff was friendly and kept things running smoothly. They stay on schedule, which helps the whole experience feel organized. Overall, a fun stop if you are already at the mall and want to do something a little different. One star less cuz it was easy and therefore short.

I've done hostage 80 percent of my trips here and this is the first time meeting the guy on the poster. The puzzle flow is confusing…read moreand/or non-existent, partially because it's not obvious what is a "main quest" puzzle and what is a "side quest" puzzle and therefore it's super easy to get sidetracked, and partially because the tech is so poorly maintained that it's not obvious if you actually solved something correctly or if the GM just felt sorry for you and let you progress forward. A lot of the parts of the room are just straight up broken (like missing hooks) or look broken with chipping paint or loose screws. Even GM-controlled devices like music volume and other tech don't work properly and caused us to have a frustrating experience. We did think it was kind of fun to do non-puzzle things to solve clues, but with everything else working as poorly as they did, that didn't make up for the rest of the room.

We did the Father of Silicon Valley room and our game master went above and beyond to make it fun and engaging. The room itself was awesome. Challenging enough for seasoned escape room enthusiasts but still beginner-friendly, so everyone in our group had a blast. We were able to escape with minutes to spare! The lobby is super cool and really sets the vibe. The only minor downsides: the studio is on the second floor with no elevator, which was a bit tough for me as I'm recovering from knee surgery, and the building has a bit of an old smell. But once you step inside Breakout Studio, it's totally worth it. Can't wait to come back and try another room!

One of the most engaging and interesting Escape Rooms I've ever done. Although you might find cheaper Escape Rooms out there, Off the Couch Games offers a more unique experience that I think definitely gives you plenty of entertainment for your dollar. I eagerly await Chapters 4 and on. Only room for improvement I can really say is signage. If you miss the banner and front door on your way into the parking lot, you may get confused, especially at night.

Additionally, they mentioned that we'd receive a discount off our total based on how quickly we finished, which was extra encouragement for us to get through the game. You immediately get immersed into the game before even walking into the actual room and once you're in Occam's Apartment, it feels even more real. The room itself is well decorated, with nice details scattered around the apartment. I loved every minute of the escape room experience and felt challenged throughout the time we were there. We did ask for hints throughout our time there and the answers were often given through directional questions. What I liked most about the Off the Couch set up is that the escape rooms are all a continuation of a storyline, so it makes you feel invested in the experience. I'm looking forward to the next escape room!
