Highly recommend this taco truck. I tried the barbacoa, birria, bistec (steak) , and al pastor. The tacos were delicious and bursting with flavor. The bistec was by far my favorite taco. Each taco was $3.50 (excluding birria). The cashier was friendly and patient. There are a couple of tables for anyone wanting to eat there. I opted to take my food with me. My food was delicious and I'll definitely be back.

Overcooked, and greasy meat with cold tortillas ! Horrible

Overcooked meat full of grease cold tortillas no care for presentation just horrible Also, as for extra green salsa and no cilantro or onions, and they put both

Not much to say other than these mini tacos were soooo good! The best part is, it's only one block away from my apartment. Can't wait to try their birria!

Al Pastor Mini Tacos - ehhhh

Been here a couple times now and apparently I wasn't a fan of the birria tacos when I first came here but I don't have a picture of them. This time, I got the Al Pastor Mini Tacos for $12. The mini tacos didn't look particularly filling, but they ended up filling me up by the end of the meal. It's a $12 meal though, so I guess that makes sense. The al pastor itself tasted okay but it was dry and overcooked by my standards. The tortillas didn't really come across as being heated up to me, which is another knock against my personal tastes. I really loved that there was a creamy salsa on the tacos already - right up my alley there! You do get a jalapeno, a juicy lime slice, and two salsa containers. Looks like I got a green salsa and an orange or orange-red style of salsa. I normally don't like orange salsas but this one both had spice AND tasted good enough for me to actually use it on my tacos. Overall, ok just about sums this place up. I can't say it's good, but I can't say it's bad. Staff here was lovely, btw. As an aside, Sabor Tapatio recently moved locations slightly and the seating area + parking are notably a bit worse overall - no more covered seating, but at least you get pavement I suppose.

there was here in my food. They already put the sauce on my tacos. They gave me one and a half lime and I asked for cheese when it said you could and she said they had no cheese. I've eaten here before and they have I had cheese.

Spent way too much time looking up a new taco truck to try. Found this lil gem on south Congress. They have a couple tables outside to sit and eat at. Tacos were amazing. I love that they include cebolla asada on the side. My favorite were the al pastor tacos - soooo juicy and flavorful. Partner loved the birria. Tacos were STUFFED so you really feel like you're getting your money's worth. Service was fast and food came out hot and fresh. We will def be back!

First time. Liked it a lot and will be back. Good two breakfast tacos at $3 each. Two is a full meal. Chorizo and egg and migas. Both very good fillings. Tortillas are a little thick (flour), but cooked well. Red salsa has a nice kick. It's good. Will come back for lunch tacos.

The best Birria tacos in Austin, HANDS down!!! A combination of crispy, spicy, melted cheese and fast customer service. They have reasonable prices as well, and tons of space for parking and eating there.

Savor Tapatio is hands down one of my favorite spots! Their birria tacos are absolutely unbeatable--tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The meat is always juicy, and the consomé is rich and full of flavor. I love how the tacos are served hot and fresh, and every bite is just as good as the last. Honestly, I'll drive all the way from the other side of town just to get my hands on these tacos. If you're craving some seriously delicious birria, Savor Tapatio is the place to go!

Perfect spot for late-night tacos!…read more The best part is that they have great vegetarian options, including both paneer and tofu tacos, and both are absolutely delicious. It's not always easy to find flavorful vegetarian tacos, so this place was a pleasant surprise. I loved it so much that I ended up visiting twice during my two-day trip to Austin. If you're in the city, this place is definitely worth checking out!

Sixth Street's neon and noise are basically next door, the Capitol sits up the hill, and the whole area is packed with people, bars, and that classic Austin mix of polished downtown hustle and late-night chaos. Velvet Taco is pure counter-service: you walk right up, order at the register, and then grab a seat. There's plenty of seating, so even with a couple of kids in tow it was no problem finding a spot. The place leans hard into what can only be called white-people tacos--soft, sad flour tortillas that taste like they came straight out of a grocery-store package, loaded with every wild creation the kitchen can invent. Global mashups, brunch hybrids, burger impostors, the works. No one is pretending these are the real deal. I went for the chicken-and-waffles taco, which was actually built on a thin, real waffle instead of a tortilla. Surprisingly good--crispy, a little sweet, chicken holding its own. The burger taco tasted exactly like a cheeseburger that had wandered into a tortilla and decided to stay. We also tried the shrimp taco (fine), one daughter got the kids' chicken taco (perfectly kid-level), and the other ordered the chicken tikka (spicy, saucy, and very much in the "why is this on a tortilla?" category). Everything was okay. Comparable to Torchy's in that same creative-American-taco lane. If you're looking for a true Mexican taco, stay far away. But if you just want to play around with some decent flavors on a cheap flour store-bought tortilla while sitting in the middle of downtown Austin, this is your spot. Not my favorite. Glad I tried it. Won't be back.

OMG where do I start? My plans started horribly today, and I didn't even plan on eating here today,…read morebut the food here at Veracruz All Natural completely turned my day around. I had only stopped by this Food Truck (area) to try Desnudo Coffee, and spotted this business. I had heard some good things about Veracruz, but I was planning lunch elsewhere. Well, that other spot was CLOSED ON WEDNESDAYS! Seeing my situation, I saw it as opportunity to try the options at Veracruz --- including the famous from Food Network, migas taco. I ordered 4 tacos: the migas, migas poblano, shrimp macha (!!), and the Dona Reyna tacos. All of these specific tacos were priced between $6 and $6.75 per taco, not bad in Austin, and not bad considering the quality of said tacos. As you can see from my order, I opted on the more "novel" choices and they did not disappoint; that said, I do HIGHLY recommend the two variations of the migas taco and the shrimp macha taco. Oh, the shrimp macha was so FIRE, the flavors were bold and smoky with a kiss of heat. The migas tacos were FULLY LOADED, and the scramble with the tortilla chips were flavorul. TIP: They will ask corn or flour --- do flour. Everything is handmade, but those corn tortillas fall apart with all the sauce. Flour = durable and flavorful. I had plans, but the Universe had other plans for me that were superior. Try Veracruz All Natural --- and if your limited on $$$, you can snag 3 EXCEPTIONAL LOADED TACOS for about $20, that you will not find anywhere else!

I walked into this unassuming restaurant and perused the menu, which felt like Mexican tarot cards. Pictures. Titles. Small description. It all looked basic. But simple food made with fresh ingredients and seasoned well has won Michelin stars. Unfortunately, I don't foresee them receiving one. The al pastor taco was tasty. The steak taco had too much fat in it. If I was strictly bashing this review on the food. I'd give it a three. It's not worth the price. Now, the service seemed to be decent until I didn't put a tip on my takeout order. Things seemed to go south. When my name was called, I grabbed the small paper bag and paused. No guacamole. If I hadn't have looked, I could've walked a really long wasteful before noticing. Maybe long enough to not go back. The last behind the counter, said okay I'll get it. It felt like a chore. I said thank you and made the long walk fighting the heat of the dragon's breath once again. The story does not stop there, I thought 3 tacos, a drink, and guacamole couldn't honestly cost $43. The guilt of spending that kind of money on such little food that was also just average, screamed in my conscience. Well, that was because the woman also had not given me my tres leches, which was going to be for my wife. I took the long walk back, stood at the counter for what felt like 10 minutes, and again it felt like a chore to get me what I paid for. No sorry. I would suggest taking a little longer walk to Taqueria de Diez
