I went to the original restaurant years ago and always remembered loving it, but it was unfortunately closed before I could go back. So I was really excited to try the new location. The service was fast, the staff was pleasant, there was tons of space for my antsy toddler to run a circle around our table and not bother anyone. The food was prepared well but all of it wasn't seasoned well. Here's what we ate: --Bistek de pollo a la pobre (thin pan fried chicken breast topped with a fried egg, served with rice, fries, and plantains). This chicken was perfection. So flavorful. I could've done without the egg but I also asked for it to be fried hard to do away with any funniness. I bet it's extra tasty that way for ppl who like that type of thing. --Mojarra Dorado (a fried whole tilapia). Cooked perfectly but the "Peruvian spices" the menu promises were either nonexistent or tasteless. We took most of this home, and I seasoned it up and added a sauce...much better and a quick meal! --kids chicken nuggets. I didn't try it, and honestly my little ppl were already full because of what I'm about to share next. Unsure if the toddler would like it, we fed the 3yo Wendy's chicken nuggets (it's in the same parking lot) before going in. While we were eating another couple came in with their little one in tow and a chick-fil-a bag...so maybe it's a thing to feed your children what they want so you can enjoy your experience in peace ‍ Either way, the staff seemed fine with them bringing food in. Lastly, about the staff being great: my 1yo upchucked before the food came, on herself and the highchair. They brought me paper towels to clean her up and then took away the dirty chair to clean and brought us a new one. I was all ready to clean that chair myself but they wouldn't let me. Venue: This place is huge. They turn it into a nightclub at times and in the day a restaurant. Ample amount of parking and plenty of seating inside. They were at an old location before, but the upgrade is way nicer. You can definitely come here with the family, kids, or by yourself. Prices: The price for the food can get expensive but the amount of food they give you is worth it. So definitely the price and food amount add up. Like my fav dish is the fried rice, and it's like 22$, but it feeds 2. Service- I think they could do a lot better with their service it takes them a while before the waiter will come around and refill your water, so not bad but not the best. Just whenever you get your waiter or waitress, make sure you give everything to them because you might not see them in a while. Food - the food here is amazing it tastes very fresh and very flavorful. From a 0 and spice level to 100 if you like, I love the variety of that. Like I said, my favorite food here is the fried rice with shrimp. I could eat this every day with the green pepper. I love Peruvian food and was very excited to try this place, but my experience was disappointing. The portions are large but for the overall taste, it's not worth the money. Very bland and lacking in that authentic Peruvian flavor. The most unappealing part of my meal was the hoard of gnats that came out with the food and stayed for the duration of the meal. read more

I was so excited when my food came out that I forgot to take pictures. I will certainly take some next time.. I love fried seafood, and ordered The Jalea. Its descripted as Deep fried fish filet mixed with fried seafood accompanied with Onion salad. I'd like to start with the salad. Its slivers of red onion mixed with cilantro and a heavenly dressing. I'm not a real fan of raw onions, but this tasted fantastic with no raw onion taste. (I don't know how they did that, but they did.) The Jalea was a heaping platter of perfectly fried food. On the platter there were fish, calamari, shrimp and fried plantains. it was hot, crisp and delicious. My daughter had a half chicken that they had spatchcocked, and fried. It was served with fried Yuca. She raved about the flavor. The portions were big enough that we both took home left overs. We went for lunch and it was not crowded at all. The service was polite and efficient. The space is huge and you can tell that they cater to nightlife. There was a stage, with VIP section, and a sizable dance floor. They frequently have live music. Want a huge meal for a cheap price and impress someone about how "cultured" you are? Take them here. This placed burned to the ground a few years ago so I was hesitant to go to the new spot (right down the street) because I wasn't sure the quality would be the same. I am delighted to report not only is it the same but its a larger space. If you want to practice your language skills this would be the restaurant to do it in. Lots of native Spanish speakers and everyone is so nice. This place specializes in Peruvian food and there are lots of options for folks who want to explore this style of food. I've had many meals here and I have not come across any that I did not think were delicious. I couldn't recommend this place enough. Its a bit of a drive if you live on the west side or downtown but what you spend on gas to get here you'll save on the meal due to how affordable everything is. A stranger recommended this Peruvian Restaurant to us. We were really impressed with the cleanliness of the place. The workers are very sweet and helpful. We ordered the Yuca Frita (deep fried pieces of yuca) it cost $4.50 and tasted really good. We also shared the Seco Combinado (beef simmered in a fresh cilantro sauce, Peruvian white beans, steamed white rice, and Onion salad), it cost $13.00 and was really delicious. The onion salad was very unique and did not taste like I thought it would.... They do not have a lunch menu or lunch special. We felt the prices were high, entrees average $10-$20, hearty soups were $8-$18. We were there on a Friday during lunch time, and they did not have a lunch crowd, maybe 3 to 4 tables with guest at them. The service was great, they kept our water filled, answered questions about the menu, made suggestions, and was always smiling!! I came here for a belated galentines day celebration with my girlfriends. There's 9 of us, and this place can accommodate any party. There's no need to RSVP since the restaurant is spacious and well staffed to accommodate everyone who comes in. I was not able to get the name of our server, but I really appreciate her patience and attentiveness to our group. She seemed well organized too, she knows what she is doing for sure. When we arrived we were all seated right away, drink orders were taken and served right away. It took us longer than usual to decide what to order because the menu was extensive- it has a lot to choose from, but well organized to make it easier for anyone to narrow down what to order- seafood, chicken, pork, etc I ordered the whole fried tilapia with sides or rice and salad, I changed the rice to fried plantains which seemed to be delicious and good combo with my fish. I will not describe my friends' orders, but they verbalized how each and everyone like their food and how delicious. The margarita here is classic and strong! It was pre- mix according to our server, but that's how I like it. The price of the food is also average and reasonable, and the portions were huge. My order alone is good for two. What do you do when you crave a Latin American dish?? Yelp one! The restaurant itself isn't fancy by any means, but the food was good. Started with an order of totones and ordered Seco Combinado for lunch (the portions were big, so needless to say, I didn't have much of a dinner).The beans were delish and the meat was nice and tender. I went on a Sunday, so it started to get really crowded around 1pm (assuming people were coming after church). The table next to us was pretty big, so I got to see what some of the other dishes looked like. The soup seemed to be a big hit, as well as a fried chicken dish. I took my son, daughter and granddaughter here for a walk on the adventurous side! We started with the fried plantains. So not a fan. They were greasy and tasteless. Came here on a Thursday, early evening, and WOW. The food is so good! My husband ordered the Arroz con Pollo, and I had the Lomo Saltado. The Arroz con Pollo came out first and was served on top of a mountain of green rice, and an onion salad on the side. The green rice was full of flavor, and the onion salad was PERFECT. Then, my lomo saltado came out. It was exactly what I was craving, complete with french fries, onions, tomatoes, and beef. It was served with white rice, but the rice was also savory and delicious. The space is also quite large with a stage and space for a dance floor. I'm surprised that I don't hear of more dancing happening here but would be a great venue to hold an event. The verdict? The dining area is simple, clean, and spacious. The waitress' were friendly/helpful. Some of the food was perfectly fine, but some of it was old. The meat for one of the dinners was chicken. Which part of the chicken, no one at the table could tell. Whatever it was it wasn't fresh and it was very dry (over cooked). It tasted as though it was previously cooked, then stored, then cooked/heated again. The same thing for the beef. Very dry, very hard to chew. Neither of the meats were worth eating. After their first location tragically burned to the ground back in November, 2014, the owners have reopened just a couple blocks west, in the same shopping center that houses the Ohio Valley Antique Mall. Our first foray into Peruvian cuisine came a number of years ago at Sabor, and the menu was unlike anything we'd ever tried. It sparked our interest in the cuisine and culture, eventually compelling us to take a trip to Peru a couple years ago. There's nothing on the menu that attempts to Americanize the experience: what you've got here is very faithful to the the dishes we enjoyed in Lima, Cusco, Puno and other cities. Still, there's a lot for anyone to enjoy: if you like chicken, beef, ceviche, corn and especially potatoes, you'll find something to your liking. Take a chance and give Peruvian food a shot. Let me start by saying i have no personal ties to this establishment, (I've never even met the owner or anything), because my review will probably make it sound like i somehow do. This restaurant is the best in Cincinnati. IThey are closed until August but if they are unable to stay open due to lack of business it will be a huge loss to our area. The building is somewhat a work in progress because the original one (that had floor to ceiling Peruvian decor) burned down a few years ago... but the food hasn't changed in quality a bit. I have lived in cincy all of my life and every time I have a friend not from the area I take them here. I have never had someone not LOVE this place. I don't know how it ended up in this location but it is a true diamond in the rough. My friends like the dishes with rice, i love the tamarindes verdes which is basically green noodles with exotic toppings. I love the choclo con queso, which is essentially cooked choclo (a breed of corn that had kernels the size of grapes), a Peruvian cheese, and brightly colored sauces to go along with it. Everything on the menu is fantastic. No where in Cincinnati is this authentic or delicious. I love sabor peruano. read more

One thing to know is Peruvian food is rather simple. Meat, rice, potatoes. Almost never spicy unless you add hot sauce. Can feel rather safe or underwhelming if you are in the mood for something different, so be daring! I don't have a pic but there are a few red seafood soups, they are amazing. Not hot. Just red. Get the purple chicha morada corn drink. Yes, corn drink. Trust me. It's like a wicked awesome spiced grape juice, no really. Get the corn and cheese appetizer. Everything was amazing. I had a great vegetarian dish I can't pronounce (#76). Had an delicious cheese and yellow pepper sauce and a basil spaghetti. Huge portions, couldn't even finish which is rare for me. The fried plantains were awesome and the hot sauce they brought out complimented them well. Food quality has dropped dramatically. We ordered pollo a la brasa, seco combinado, anti-cuchos, ceviche, alfajores and all of it sucked. Bought a family meal for Mother's Day and we were all disappointed by the food quality. Pollo a la brasa ha d a weird smell coming out of it and the ceviche was not marinated long enough with the fish being extra firm and bland. The first thing you notice about this place is that it's HUGE! It has two big, open areas evidently set up for parties and receptions. Ordinarily the area just inside the door is all they need to accommodate diners, about 50 seats, which seems like 10% of the available space. Peruvian food is like other South American cuisine, pretty simple and not usually that spicy. It tends to be heavy on carbs. Lomo saltado is the most famous dish, stewed beef with onion, tomato and gravy served with both French fries and rice. It's a huge portion and a very filling dish. Arroz con pollo is simply baked chicken on green rice (cilantro?) with onion salad on the side. Ceviche in several forms is available, very heavy on the acid if you like that sort of thing. This is the only Peruvian restaurant I know of in Cincy, so sooner or later I'm pretty sure I'll be back. read more
