Oh man...I hadn't heard of this place before but given that things are a little dull during QT and the great ratings, we thought we'd give it a shot for dinner. And dang...it was darn good. The portions are hearty, the prices are good (especially for BBQ which tends to be pretty pricey), and (most important), it was the smoky, savory, spicy deliciousness I had been craving. We did a variety of things to try to the different sauces but you can't go wrong with any of them. The Zia Gold was excellent on the pork slider as was the ABQ BBQ (or something like that) on the chicken and brisket. The spicy version was AWESOME but if spice isn't your thing, it might be a bit much. I'd say it has a bit more kick than Rudy's regular sauce so if you struggle with that, go with the regular. The Brisket Fiesta Bowl (ok, basically brisket nachos) was awesome. I mean, nachos and brisket- the perfect marriage. Despite a little bit of a trip, the chips were still relatively crispy which can always be a dicey proposition with takeout nachos. Sometimes you're willing to take the risk and I'm glad we did. Nom nom nom I don't know what else to say- it was everything I was hoping for and craving in some damn good BBQ. Amazingly delicious barbeque sauce that goes great with the beef brisket, chicken, pork, and sausage on the sliders, but it complements the pork especially well. The smoked potato with brisket is a meal in itself while you'll want two or three sliders to fill you up. We came to Green Jeans on what happened to be their soft opening and are ecstatic that we were able to try it out and have another delicious BBQ place to frequent now. If you are extra, extra lucky, the little girl will be there to brighten your day with the sweetest little smiles! My husband tried the brisket sliders, chile sausage, and the chile sausage sliders. So the chile sausage has ground up red chile inside of it and it was incredible! My husband is THE BBQ hound and he was obsessed. He loved the sauce, the meat, the bread, and the cole slaw (which you can get on the side if you don't want it on the sliders). This is the best BBQ joint we've found in NM (my Texan husband agrees!) We tried the sampler platter first and oh my gosh... everything was to die for! They included nachos, smoked sausage, a brisket slider and a loaded spud. We couldn't help ourselves and got the green chile mac and cheese also. We tried their vegetarian slider made with jackfruit and it tasted just like a regular BBQ slider - so excited about that! They said they are working on a vegan coleslaw so they will be able to have a completely vegan alternative. I don't know how this place stays in business for what they charge and the quantity of food they give you. It's mind-boggling. I spent $15 on food there and got a few ounces of meat and coleslaw. Nice outing to Green Jeans tonight, decided to check out some 'Q'. This place was so good! The guy taking our order was so nice, explained the sauces to us. We got brisket and chicken sliders, you can get slaw on it or w/o. Had the burque sauce, delicious, mild and sweet, very good flavors. They also have spicy sauces to try and sides. Overall, big fans, we've had our fair share of bbq in KC and all over and hands down, some of the best brisket I've ever had. Go check it out! read more

Unsolicited advice to SA BBQ from a fan: Keep it simple. The mustard bbq sauce ya got is unnecessary. If you want to succeed as a BBQ business in this city, do not, I repeat do not alter your sauces. Regular and Spicy BBQ sauce is plenty. Learn from ABQ BBQ, TFK, and other failed BBQ businesses. They traversed off the usual path - the BBQ tradition - and got burned in the process. Your portions are amazing. Your spongy soft buns are so good with a tall beer next door. Don't ruin what you have in the name of innovation. Why these are called sliders is a little confusing to me as I'm expecting miniature sandwiches; SA's sliders are big, filled with delicious BBQ meats with one slider being sufficient for many folks. Great little bbq place! Good service; tasty food. It is part of a group of eateries and a brewery made out of shipping containers with a center courtyard. WAAAAAY overpriced & small portions, $5 for 1 small brisket slider is a rip off! The sign says SLIDERS which is plural which to me means 2 sliders & there was only 1. Change your sign to SLIDER, not SLIDERS. Sauce is disgustingly sweet & I ordered two of them with the spicy Burqueno BBQ sauce but none of them tasted different. Disappointed for the good reviews it has. Whomever is giving this place more than 2 stars has no taste palate. Your paying for the tourist trap location it's in, not the quality or the taste. THose of us from the south are particular about BBQ. SABBQ passes the tang test; their sauce has the required vinegar/heat combo. The pulled pork is really well done. I particularly like The 4 ounce slider presentation and the price is right. I found their sausage lacking in character. You have to be young and in good shape to enjoy the Green Jeans dining accommodations, especially on a cold winter day is challenging: order at the window, find a place to sit in a rather Spartan atmosphere. Bottom line: I like SA BBQ, but it's a hassle to eat at Green Jeans - I hope they will have an opportunity to move to some where you can eat and be comfortable at the same time. But, if you're young, agile, and not fussy, go and have a good time. read more
