Pork and chicken sliders!
Jenna E.

Oh man...I hadn't heard of this place before but given that things are a little dull during QT and the great ratings, we thought we'd give it a shot for dinner. And dang...it was darn good. The portions are hearty, the prices are good (especially for BBQ which tends to be pretty pricey), and (most important), it was the smoky, savory, spicy deliciousness I had been craving. We did a variety of things to try to the different sauces but you can't go wrong with any of them. The Zia Gold was excellent on the pork slider as was the ABQ BBQ (or something like that) on the chicken and brisket. The spicy version was AWESOME but if spice isn't your thing, it might be a bit much. I'd say it has a bit more kick than Rudy's regular sauce so if you struggle with that, go with the regular. The Brisket Fiesta Bowl (ok, basically brisket nachos) was awesome. I mean, nachos and brisket- the perfect marriage. Despite a little bit of a trip, the chips were still relatively crispy which can always be a dicey proposition with takeout nachos. Sometimes you're willing to take the risk and I'm glad we did. Nom nom nom I don't know what else to say- it was everything I was hoping for and craving in some damn good BBQ. We'll definitely be back and can't wait to visit and hang out there in person...eventually. Nice work, guys! Keep it up!

Amazingly delicious barbeque sauce that goes great with the beef brisket, chicken, pork, and sausage on the sliders, but it complements the pork especially well. The smoked potato with brisket is a meal in itself while you'll want two or three sliders to fill you up. We came to Green Jeans on what happened to be their soft opening and are ecstatic that we were able to try it out and have another delicious BBQ place to frequent now. It's right next to Rockin' Taco downstairs outside.

I had to use Door Dash to deliver and boy was I happy! Brisket loaded spud. Hot link slider. Green chile mac n cheese and borracho beans. Everything tasted amazing. I tried 2 different kinds of bbq sauce and they were both really good. Thank you SA BBQ. Support local!

Jalapeno poppers, Smoked out spud with brisket, bacon wrapped chicken drumsticks

This is the best BBQ joint we've found in NM (my Texan husband agrees!) We tried the sampler platter first and oh my gosh... everything was to die for! They included nachos, smoked sausage, a brisket slider and a loaded spud. We couldn't help ourselves and got the green chile mac and cheese also. We tried their vegetarian slider made with jackfruit and it tasted just like a regular BBQ slider - so excited about that! They said they are working on a vegan coleslaw so they will be able to have a completely vegan alternative. We've been back for their smoked out spud that is covered in brisket, cheese, butter, chives, spicy bbq sauce and their red chile crema - our FAVORITE. They also had a special on chicken drumsticks wrapped in bacon and smoked, and I could literally eat this every day. We also loved their poppers - smoked is the best way to make a popper!

Visited December 28,2020. I stayed at the Hamptons hotel next door and walked down to get some food and the gal at the register recommended the pulled pork nachos and wow! Bomb dot com. I sat down and had some brews from the brewery next door and had a great evening.

Well smoked, dang flavorful BBQ from da ABQ Slow Smoked BBQ truckie dude!!…read more Brisket Sammie came loaded to toppling high with carne rich in smokiness & melt on your tongue tender texture. Hugeness of portion!!!! BBQ sauce brought a nice punchy kick to the tower o' meat sammie. Only demerit was lack of much bark on the meat in my sandwich. Buddy's sliced brisket sandwich, which was equally massive, showed *lots* of bark. So if you're a Barky BBQ Boi, sliced brisket will be your jam from ABQ Slow Smoked BBQ as opposed to the chopped brisket that seems to be the default brisket sandwich filling. BBQ beans were on par with the sandwich. Multiple varieties of beans swimming in a semi-sweet & tangy sauce. Shreds of smoked meat added their pungence to the mix. A dish that makes eating your veggies mighty tasty!! Pickled veggies, particularly the carrots, offered bright clean taste to counterbalance the pungence of the meat & beans. Hit up this mobile emporium of tastiness at Marble Heights Brewpub or anywhere else around town they might be spotted. Well worth the price of admission!

How has this food truck not been reviewed yet??…read more I'll be honest, I have been burned by bbq food trucks before. But there's just something about them that every time I see them, I have to try it. We were heading to Costco, ready to lunch on a hotdog when we saw the food truck in the parking lot (closer to the sports store). The smoker attached to truck, the charming way the menu was laid out and with two people already in line, it was calling to me. The two people in line were munching on a beef rib that I'm sure he gave to them to try during the wait. The guy closest to me...the meat looked so juicy. So I said to him "man that looks so good" and all he could muster was a shake of his head, like "you have no idea". The first guy ordered and really was insistent on paying more money...(he wanted drinks but they were included in the sandwich price so he was like, well fine then, let me buy two more waters). The guy who I talked to about the rib? When he gets to the window, he said he wanted one of everything! Yeeeees. I have a hard time not ordering nachos anytime I come across them, so I got the nachos with brisket and the picky eater got the brisket sandwich with coleslaw for the side. When he took a bite, he said it was "damn good." Pretty good review from the picky eater. The sandwich also came with pickles, and pickled onions, carrots and a jalapeño, all of which were amazing. Perfectly crunchy and sour. The nachos were great, made even better by the pickled veggies (cause I stole those from him). And the bbq sauce with the brisket was just perfect. We stood in the line under the hot sun and it was tooooootally worth it. I overheard him tell one of the customers that he tries to get out to that spot at least twice a week.

I appreciated that they don't slice their brisket too thin. It really helps keeping the meat tender…read moreand juicy. The texture was excellent, though the brisket itself was slightly cooler than I would have preferred. It may have been because how cold it was inside the restaurant that day. The sausages were a highlight for me. They were flavorful. If you prefer your meat more lightly seasoned, you might find it a bit salty, but I personally enjoyed the bold flavor. Their homemade bread was soft with a subtle sweetness, but it just wasn't as fresh as I had expected. I would probably stick with the complimentary bread on my next visit. I would definitely recommend the baked potato. I wouldn't recommend the fries or the beans.

A bit of a drive, but worth it if you are looking for tried and true barbecue with a great view…read more Lots of free parking. No waiting at around 1pm on a Saturday. We were seated and got drinks quickly. I got a half rack of pork ribs with a side salad and coleslaw, and the person I was with got a full rack with coleslaw and mac and cheese. The side salad was good, and came before the meal. A variety of dressings were available and was served on the side. The coleslaw was the creamy kind (instead of vinegar) and was good as well. The ribs were tender and generously sized. Even with the half rack I ended up taking some home. I wasn't a huge fan of the bbq sauce served on the side but they had a great rub on them so they didn't really need sauce. They also had a full drink menu, complete with local beers and 30 oz margaritas. Overall, a hearty lunch in a great location.

Give him a call to get the "who, what, when, where, why, & how" for his location on any given day. However, I must say that Nomad BBQ is still providing *excellent* Texas style BBQ of exceptional tastiness at very economical prices, given the high quality of the food. If you see their truck anywhere around town, stop in, chow down, and smile ... smile ... smile ... at all the wondrous gustatorial nirvana you've just indulged in. Hands down, killer good BBQ! Everything I said in my previous review still stands. Of special note, besides the extremely good food, is the gregarious, outgoing, and hyper friendly personality that positively shines out of Mr Theo. One of the most convivial food vendors in town. Overall, I really like that Theo seems passionate about making the food that he serves. Plus, it doesn't hurt that this bbq type of food tastes so good..and is so rare to find ABQ, too.
