I was blown away at how mouth watering the BBQ meat was! By far the best BBQ I've had in a while - possibly the best I've had in NM to be honest. I had the Brisket Burnt Ends Green Chili Cheese Fries and with every bite it was an "oh my God" moment. You can taste the backwoods trees they personally cut down themselves to smoke this fine meat. I know the owner Matt from high school and I have to say he still has the knack for cooking! Him & his brother David take the food truck back and forth between Albuquerque and Grants NM to serve the communities. Great service, & great food. Make sure to get your fingers on this stuff, & lick them clean!

Call, go, eat, enjoy! - The image shows the side of a food truck with a black reflective surface. The truck features a large logo for Big Boi BBQ, depicting a stylized burger with the text 'BIG BOI BBQ' in bold, block letters. Below the logo, the phone number 505-290-6550 is prominently displayed, along with a small QR code labeled 'MENU.' The reflection of a person taking the photo and the surrounding outdoor environment are visible on the truck's surface, with a bright blue sky overhead.

Bottom Line: Texas style BBQ of the highest order!!! And at pretty reasonable prices too. Very cordial owner! Save your gas money, skip the BBQ trip to Austin or San Antone. Hit up Big Boi BBQ at the food truck gathering on the corner of Central & Unser to scratch your BBQ itch. Thank me later. Top Line: First things first. Huge shout out to the one man owner-operator, pitmaster, cashier, chief cook & bottle washer of this truck for his warm, friendly & cordial greeting. Matt (as best my leaky brain remembers) was a delight to talk with all through our interaction. It's great to have him on the Duke City eating scene! I scored a 1/3 lb sliced smoked brisket sandwich with plain unaccessorized fries for dinner when I got home and a half pound of sliced brisket (mixed 50-50 lean & fat end of the brisket) loose meat for later consumption. Total ring out came to $28 and change. Gotta tell ya, the smell of the Big Boi BBQ sack made the half hour drive home seem *WAY* longer. Aromatic nirvana!! First bite of the brisket sandwich told me I'd struck gold. Smoke note stood front & center, comin' in hot & heavy, loaded for bear, punchy-punchy-punchy, makin' a ruckus all over my taste buds & up mah nose. Acrid sharp heavenly smoke like I've found on my better Texas road trips. The smoke ring & bark circling each slice was not lyin'. This is the real deal!! This brisket was absolutely addictive. I could not stop my voracious chowing down until the last bite was gone. Then I was left wishin' for more. Brisket was likewise very, very tender. Bark was of course super strong on smokiness, as well as being tender & not crusty hard. Obviously the brisket had spent sufficient time wrapped to make the whole thing wonderously soft. Moistness of the meat ran a bit to the middle of the pack, which I found to be about right. While the slices were not actively dripping juice, a few napkins should be at the ready nonetheless. BBQ sauce was a bit sweet, but had a serious kick with a harmonious black pepper & smokiness duet goin' on. I'm thinkin' the extra sauce is gonna make killer scrambled eggs some morning. Bun was large & sturdy enough to hold up to the load of meat, sauce, & pickles. The half hour drive home did the fries a huge disservice. Being in the sauna-like box with the sandwich sogged them out & limped them up pretty badly. But that ain't Big Boi's fault. Obviously I should live closer. Flavor of the fries was still on the mark. So stop by and give Big Boi BBQ a chance to fill you up with some of (if not *the*) best Texas style BBQ in town.

a burger and fries - A barbecue meal includes smoked burnt ends with a glossy, caramelized exterior, placed on a checkered paper-lined tray. A sandwich bun is positioned on top of the burnt ends, with French fries visible underneath. A small plastic container of barbecue sauce is included in the tray. The food appears freshly prepared, with the burnt ends showing a dark, flavorful crust and tender interior.

I'm so glad I did. I came near closing, but service was still awesome. The lady behind the counter was super patient with me as I scanned the menu and tried to figure out what I wanted to order. I was dinner so I opted for a Birria burrito, then added on a Birria taco and a carne asada taco. There were two people ahead of me so my food was a little slow to come but I tell ya: it was worth the wait. My picture doesn't really do this justice. The burrito is fucking huge. One of the biggest I've ever had. I wish I knew how big it was ahead of time, cause I would not have ordered the tacos. Or maybe I would have cause the tacos were chonky and so damned good too. Going back to the birria burrito.. wow. It was packed full of birria with some rice and beans. The ratio is AMAZING for us meat lovers. I could only stomach half the burrito, plus the two tacos. Was able to save the other half for lunch tomorrow. Still super duper tasty. The birria was very very juicy and tender flavorful. Lord, mouth is watering just thinking about it. The other amazing part? The PRICE. That giant birria burrito was $11.99. I defy you to find a place with a better price to portion ratio than this. Especially in this economy. I'm definitely coming back, cause apparently the other burritos are even BIGGER according to the staff. Price, taste, quantity. Can't be beat. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you skip this spot. Or maybe skip it, so they don't get overhyped and jack up their prices. (yeah, I'm a little selfish XD)

My lasted venture with their eats happened at High and Dry Brewing. It was my first time at the brewery so I was happy to see a familiar food truck when I walked up. It was the one year anniversary of High and Dry so it was a perfect day for them to post up. I know that I like their chicken bite but I wanted something different and opted for the California Chicken sandwich. Upon first glance it looked pretty basic but I was very pleasantly won over by the sandwich after the first bite. Yes, it this is a fried chicken breast, but it is very lightly battered/breaded and is cooked perfectly! The chicken is soft and moist not hard and dry. It is also not a dainty sandwich, filled with cheese, avocado, mustard, pickles, tomatoes and onion so make sure to get a napkin. I cleaned my plate. Cajun fries and all. I'm looking forward to the next time I happen across the Blazin Barn. I want to try something else from their menu....if I can refrain from ordering the California Chicken again.

My only criticism is that my friend had to munch only on the fries because there weren't many small vegetarian friendly options and that I was hoping for more ketchup since we got a big serving of fries (good, well made, not greasy and yummy fries).

I must say, it was significantly better to my taste The pickles were gone, but there was still this unusual taste that I really couldn't place. It tasted almost like pickles in the background, but I'm not sure what it was. Suffice to say, the burger was very good. Was it the best burger I've ever had? No. Sadly, that honor goes to Pete's Frites, and he hung it up after ruining all of us who got to try his burger masterpieces before disappearing. But I digress. No Mames treated me like I mattered. They took my opinions and wishes seriously. I am very impressed. The owner and his wife genuinely wanted me to enjoy my experience with their food, and I must say I did. Their tireless efforts to make me a happy customer are very rare, and they should be commended. I had fries this time, and they are the thin, more crispy variety, which are my favorite. I also received a Serrano sauce and a flavored oil "sauce," which I was told they serve with their chicharrones, I believe. I kinda liked it with the fries. I'm upping the rating to 5 stars, because for me, the food is a very strong 4 stars, but their customer service and care for their craft makes it an easy 5 stars. Go pay this place a visit and let them know what you think of their food. They actually listen and will make adjustments. That's a customer's dream.
