We contacted S and K to put in new windows for our house. Raoul and company are amazing. They started work promptly and worked tirelessly all day! I have NEVER seen the amount of dedication to doing the job right! We are very honored to have these meticulous professionals work on our home. Tremendous value for the money!! MUY BIEN!! read more

They couldn't have done a better job, for a better price if they tried. Bobby Moore (sales) and all the installers did a great job!

I was researching roofing companies for gutters. After researching companies, I end up moving ahead with my gutters from S&K roofing. S&K was very professional, came in and got the work done with my gutters. Everything was done well, and I would recommend them highly for all work 10/10! read more

Update: S&K came out and cleaned all 5 skylights, inside and out. Their response to my concerns was speedy and very much appreciated! We hired S & K to replace our skylights (5). Two of the skylights installed were way too big, sitting up on the roof instead of the opening. They did comeback to install the correct size. My complaint is the fact that none of the skylights were cleaned before leaving. Adhesive is still on the glass as are the marks from installation. I have had replacement windows installed before (different company) and the windows were super clean with all of the label adhesive removed before the installers left the premises. read more

I have used S and K for sliding doors and vinyl wrapping. I wish I used them for my windows. Everyone has always been professional and the communication was great. I have worked numerous times with Tom in sales and it is right to point instead of a long drag out process. I would certainly recommend using S and K for any window or siding needs. S&K Roofing - Thanks so much for responding to my text for help on a leak in our roof at a rental home immediately on a Friday night that turned out to be Saturday at 1:30 AM in France ! Ray called me right away(and followed up with me after the service call too!) and lined up Jose Mendez and his coworker Seravo(sp?) to come to the house early Saturday AM .they arrived and quickly went through a thoughtful and thorough "diagnosis " of the source of the leak - they started on the outside to no avail and then tracked it backwards from the leak to the roof inside and traced the cause to 2 improperly placed rusty nails in one of the shingles ( see the culprits in pic below ) - they replaced the one shingle as we fortunately had an extra box of them on site in a shed - and were on their way ! Thanks again for you and your team -please pass on my thanks and compliments to Ray , Jose and Seravo ...they are world class just like you ! read more

S&K Roofing just install a new window in my basement for me. They gave me a good price and their installers did a very good job paying specific attention to making sure it was a water tight installation, patching concrete on the concrete wall, and did a super job in wrapping the window framing on the outside. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again as they have become one of my favorite construction companies. read more

A salesperson from S &K (Chris) came out to our property close to a month ago. He seemed knowledgeable and gave us brochures and his card with his contact info. However, he never reached back out to us to give us a quote nor did he respond to our emails. My husband and I just signed a contract with another company. I can't recommend S & K based on this experience. read more

I called several roofing companies and decided to go with S & K Roofing. The salesman Chad was a highly experienced person who pointed out several things that to me, made S & K standout from the other companies. I had already seen the work they did in my community and talked to the neighbors, S & K is very well liked and recommended in my community. Rave reviews! Chad was very competitive in pricing and very quick to give pricing. Once I signed the contract, the S & K Team started. I was always informed, what and when something was going to happen. Believe me, the customer service is beyond exceptional, I ran a commercial construction company for 40 + years. S & K is the best, they schedule and show up on time and stay on the job until they are finished and you are 100% satisfied. The sales, office staff and installers very hard workers and want the customer to be completely satisfied. A replacement of your roof is a big project and you really want a company you can trust, hence in my opinion S & K is the best. I also used them for 6" gutters on my porch, they did an excellent job on the roof and gutters. I am 100% satisfied and will use them for any other projects I may need in the future. HATS OFF TO S & K! Many Thanks to them for a magnificent job! read more

We had them replace our roof and gutters on our town house. They were quick and did a great quality job! We had a leaking issue with a plate that was on our sunroom roof, installed by another company, which covered the area where a propane stove pipe was. We had a propane company come and re-caulk it, but it got worse. we've used S&K in the past so called. Sean Toms, operations manger, immediately came out. He identified the issue, fixed it and didn't charge us a cent. Thats great customer service. They are the best! read more

They replaced my roof one year ago. In August 2017 they came out because there was a trickle of water running down the side of the chimney. The next time it rained it didn't leak so I was like sweet it is fixed. Now the front of the chimney is leaking and they won't come out because they say it is the chimney and not the roof. Clearly by the pictures it is the roof. They are asking me to have a chimney inspection and well that cost money. If I have another roofer fix it I void my warranty with them. They are not reputable and they need to honor their promise to the customers. I am extremely disappointed. read more

I emailed S&K for an estimate. The following day, while no one was home, Sean stopped by because we hadn't connected my phone. He noticed that the repair was simply a matter of re-nailing some shingles and - wait for it - HE DID IT at no charge. What a nice surprise! He sent me an email letting me know he was in the area between jobs and stopped by, etc. I'm sure Sean noticed that the rest of the roof is nearing end of life, we'll likely have a much larger job in the near future and this will make us call him for that work (he's right!). Nevertheless, it was a great surprise, saved us money, and is definitely not something he HAD to do. Much appreciated. read more

I have used S&K to replace my vinyl siding with insulated siding, windows and sliding doors. The sales representative was very mindful of HOA regulations and cooperated with me to make sure siding, window and door styles and colors were met. After struggling a few years with one of the new windows leaking, Sean Toms went out of his way to investigate the issue and, hopefully, has now executed the needed repairs to correct it. The leak was not a result of their work, but a long standing builder issue. I couldn't be more pleased with the consideration and attention S&K has provided. read more

If all you want done is a roof, call them and you will be happy. if you want them to put in a skylight and finish the job, run away as fast as you can. Apparently they install the skylight and install drywall in the attic and then put something called mud to patch the gaps. AND THEN THEY LEAVE IT soon after you are told that the drywall installer doesn't do drywall. There is no sanding, no clean up, no paint. There are uneven surfaces all over, clumps of mud and some spaces left untouched. To say it looks awful is a complete understatement. To make it worse when you question the end product, you are told that you were told that they do not finish the job. Would anyone hire a company if they were told that there is no finished product? And then you get to hire a handyman to complete the job and it looks amazing but of course it was several hundred more dollars. It is an awful day that after all the money you gave to a roofing company, all you can do is cry. read more

UPDATE!!!!!! Lie #1 - The responder told a LIE that I have not finished paying them. Check Angie's List where they told a separate story. On Angie's List they indicated that it took me a few years to pay them off. Which is true? Took me years or I "still owe them money"? I have in my possession AN EMAIL from the owner of the company THANKING me for for the fact that they were FULLY PAID. Have the email, listed below: It is dated May 17, 2012 and states: "Cathy, Thanks for the final payment! Have a great summer!!" Don Katzenberger" The email above PROVES that I paid 100%! These are dirty liars you are dealing with with these people. Cannot keep their lies straight! 2. Regarding the money, the initial fee was $100,000 (+) IMMEDIATELY after the work was complete, they got ALL that money! However, because THEIR employees put a bathroom in the wrong place in my home, the overall square footage increased significantly, kicking the fee up. In addition, some other errors that they made structurally kicked the price up. They ended up tacking $18,000 EXTRA onto my original fee! Because they left a hole in the addition when they were working on it and did not put up a sign of warning, one of my legs fell into the FLOOR ( I should have sued them for that!)..... I insisted they take some money off. However, who has $16,000 laying around AFTER paying out $100,000+? Long story short, I immediately paid them $6,000 extra and paid the balance over 2 or 3 years. BUT they got EVERY DIME. Again......I have the EMAIL in my possession from the owner THANKING ME for paying off the bill. They better be careful with these lies! Lie #2 - It's been 7 years. Um....it's been close to 6 years; however, the plumbing was put in wrong from the beginning. The "plumber" put in 2 toilets, 3 sinks and some other plumbing. ALL of it has been fixed by me paying real plumbers! It was put in wrong from Year 1. Lie #3 - He claims they "told me" it would cost money. Huh? They NEVER RESPONDED TO ME! They sent out a man twice to take pictures. Never got back to me and NEVER answered phone calls. NEVER was money discussed! Finally I emailed them and the owner told me to hire a plumber. NEVER was money discussed! These are some DIRTY people. Don't do it! Read my original review BELOW: -------------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW: Pay veeeeeery close attention to the 1-star reviews because these people are echoing my horrible experience. Had an addition put on my home by this company 5 years ago and it is STILL costing me money! Nightmare from the beginning. They sent out two unprofessional blokes who have zero knowledge about construction. Those two were supposedly setting up my work and organizing the workers. I literally had to kick one of them out of my house for unprofessional comments. The crew that they subcontracted to do my work told me that the reason they came sporadically was because they were NOT being paid and literally had to threaten them that they would never return if they did not get their money. The crew leader also told me that this company would take on multiple jobs and string people along, knowing they did not have enough employees or subcontractors to finish the work in a timely manner. The subcontractors did a good job but this company sent out an incompetent plumber who is STILL costing us money. From the beginning there were leaks because he did not know what he was doing. My error was in just getting it fixed without calling this horrible company. A few months ago, we had to have our bathtub removed because the "plumber" they sent to us did not know what he was doing and he put the pipes in wrong. It's been 5 years so the warranty expired. Long story short, we would turn on the shower or bathtub and the water would go through our ceiling. These are the most incompetent "business persons" I've ever encountered and they DO NOT CARE! Warning: Don't use this company unless you want a continuous nightmare. read more

Approximately 4 years ago (May, 2019) my wife and I contracted with S&K for a new roof with skylights, new siding, and downspouts and gutters. Every aspect of the job was presice and professional. Don K.was very helpful in planning the job and made sure everything was done as agreed. Peter (team lead) and his crew were easygoing and experienced. We could not be happier with the outcome and continually recommend S&K to everyone. About one week ago I noticed a 'stone chip' in the siding (possibly from a mower) and called S&K to see if they could take a look. Sean T., Quality Control Manager came out, saw the problem and replaced the siding piece, so that you would never know there had been any problem. Sean, like everyone else we have dealt with from S&K was very professional while easy to work with. Can,t say enough good things about S&K. Michael B., Catonsville read more

I'm closing on a home sale soon and was running down a nit-picking Home Inspector discrepancy list prior to closing. After no luck with two other roofer companies (one only does full roof replacements, the other said the townhomes in my neighborhood are too high for him to be interested, lol. He recommended S&K as a good bet), I called S&K. I was completely pleased and impressed with the rapid and professional answer to my call. I was referred immediately to the Sales Manager/Coordinator, who listened to my needs and quickly said he could easily provide for them. He took down my information, and promised I'd hear from a technician in 24 to 48 hours. I heard from him in about two. Matt Thomas emailed me and said he thought he could be at the home in a day or two tops. We agreed I'd email him the pertinent excerpts from the Inspection Report for his background. I did. I was amazed when I got an email from him just after lunch the same day I'd sent that excerpt, and his email included before and after photos to demonstrate he'd already FINISHED. I was dumbfounded. I sang his praises in my thank you response email, and he simply said "that's how we roll at S&K" . . . Humble and gracious. I'm 60 years old. I can remember when this type of responsive professionalism was NOT so rare. That memory is very old, haha. It was refreshing and very very fulfilling to get this sort of service... The work was done nearly immediately, is clean and correct, and I can painlessly check a few vexing items from my immense checklist. Kudos Matt and S&K! Paid over 300 for a minor repair. Tech was up on the roof for all of 5 mins. Roof still leaks...

S & K came highly recommended by Cabinet Discounters and after several encounters we have had nothing but super positive experiences. Don takes obvious pride in his business and has really great people working for him (like John W). We have had roof replacement estimates, roof patching and insulation work done in the past year, all of it thorough, friendly, prompt and reasonably priced. They get back to you almost immediately and when big storms caused a lot of repair needs from customers they were proactive in letting folks know to set expectations accordingly. They are our first call for anything roof related. Have a hard time relating the various people and experiences we have had with the negative reviews. read more

S & k did some repairs on our old roof and all went well. After getting quotes on a new roof, we went with another company that did a good job but then went bankrupt. When we had a minor problem, I again called s &k thinking they would come. They refused to come since I did not go with them for the entire roof. They said that they ONLY repair roofs so that they can replace it and my roof is too new to make it worth their while. What poor customer relations! Not only won't I call them again for roof related repairs, I will never call them for windows or siding now! read more

We recently used S&K to have our roof replaced. The price was competitive but the biggest plus was NO PROBLEMS! I left for work at 5:15am and when I returned home at 4:30 the roof was finished. The crew they sent out was sufficient for the job, they cleaned up better than expected and they didn't try to add any extras (like plywood) that I didn't need. Roofs aren't cheap but it's a necessary evil of owning a home. I'd rather have spent the money of something "fun" but it doesn't always work that way! So at least I got a hassle free transaction with them. Don (owner) and his staff were very courageous and honestly, they didn't come across like used car salesmen or those roof guys that go door to door. Somebody recommended S&K to me and I would pass on that recommendation to anyone. read more

Everything went smoothly and quick in our roof adventure. This was not an emergency job. Our roof was over 30 years old and we wanted to get ahead of any leaks or emergencies. The estimate was the best we received. We planned for a couple weeks out. They ended up having a cancellation much sooner and did our roof right away. It was finished in one day. Looks great! Communication has been great from first inquiries to estimate to payment to scheduling to follow-up. Thank you S&K! read more

I would give them 10 stars if possible. The S&K representative that initially came to the house was friendly, quick and thorough. They scheduled the new roof in a timely fashion. They stayed in contact to let me know exactly when the work would be done. They explained exactly what to expect while the work was being done. The work was completed when promised. An S&K representative was there while the work was being done to let me know how things were going. I would recommend S&K to anyone. read more

I've been using S&K for 25 years during which time they've done 2 roofs for me and repaired heavy tree damage several times. Warning if you use this company be prepared to be overcharged. Had loose piece of siding at the roof apex. Guy said it was easy and took him 5 minutes. The work was great, so that's not the problem. And I see a bunch of glowing reviews, so I'm sure I'm the odd one. Basically, had some wind damage to my house. They came out and gave a quote, as did my insurance company, State Farm. SF told me to give their quote to my sales guy, and have him compare to make sure everything was included on it. I don't know exactly what I'm looking at, I'm not a roofing / siding expert, so I asked my sales guy to take a look and ensure everything is included. He said all is good. I later found out that the siding wasn't included, and got an additional bill for $500 to fix that. If I hadn't asked the question, I would totally say my fault, however I went to John and asked if everything was included and he told me it was. When I talked to him after the fact, it was "sorry, it was in the contract." Thanks a lot, I realized that, which is why I asked the question (which he said he remembers me asking). Again, not an expert on this so thought asking the expert would be the right thing to do, apparently I was mistaken. read more

I hired them to do our roof and replace 2 skylights and it was a huge mistake! They gave me an inexperience crew, who, didn't protect my roof when it decided to rain. After a bunch of calls to them, they finally come out and fix things. Sadly, unless I want to lose my warranty, I cant go else where..... read more

Very poor customer service and not competitively priced. To begin with, they quoted us a price $100 more than a local competitor for the same, minor, work (a 75% increase). Because the price was high, my husband and I decided we would have our home warranty (not our insurance company, mind you) cover the repair. We've done this before with a couple other things we got done and it's not a big deal. The home warranty requires that the contractor call a toll-free number so they can speak with a representative just to help set up the claim (we make the first call, though). As a witness to this call before, its is a brief (5 min, max) call where they ask the contractor rep a few basic questions ("are you bonded and insured?", for instance). Neither of the two contractors we've used for other repairs had any problems doing it. This morning, my husband got a call at 7:45 from Charlie at S&K Roofing to follow-up on the quote they gave us yesterday. My husband was okay with proceeding and explained to Charlie about the Home Warranty company needing to have a brief conversation with him and if he could do it (our claim cannot be fully processed without this call from them). Charlie remarked that he's "been in the business for 10 years and never had to do this before". My husband assured him that it is a brief call and, aside from that, S&K would not have any further contact with the home warranty company. We would pay S&K directly, they wouldn't have to wait on anything. My husband asked, "You're not willing to make that call?" to which Charlie responded, "No and that is all" and *hung up on him*! I heard his side of the call, he was not rude, he was not short with Charlie, he wanted to give them our business. With higher prices and poor customer service I do not recommend using S&K Roofing. Added: I really don't want to get into a back-and-forth with someone online, but given the response, I'll just say that when I hear my husband talking and then saying, "Hello?... Hello?... Hello?" then, yes, he was hung up on. Given that, I'm sure you can imagine the tone of the customer service preceding that. read more

This company replaces the roof for each house in my community - and I have had nothing but problems since they've completed the work. That "forgot" to set up the hose/vent from the ceiling to the roof and this has caused massive, dripping condensation from my bathroom ceiling when it rains. I was told several times that people would be out when it rained to see what was happening, because the pictures I sent weren't proof enough I guess, and still nobody has come to fix the problem during the rainiest season we've had in a long time.
