Came back to Ryu for a mani & pedi during their anniversary celebration, and couldn't be happier! Linh and Hoang were diligent yet quick and gentle. The store was beautifully remodeled, almost felt like I was at a spa.

Quinnly did my Gel-X today and I'm literally obsessed. She paid so much attention to detail and got the shape exactly how I wanted. My nails came out sooo cute and the whole appointment was super chill. 10/10 would recommend

I am not much for writing reviews, but this place deserves one. I just had one of the best nail bar experiences ever. The owners and staff are so kind. I love that it's a mother-daughter duo that own this place, and love supporting women-run business. They had donuts, sparkling waters, and gifts for customers for mothers' day: I left with a beautifully designed and curated gift bag with a very nice glass iced coffee cup with glass straw, and mini electric nail fan. Tammy did a builder gel mani for me with a neutral cat eye design . I've been doing dip for the last few years and she recommended it. I love it so much. Linh did a fantastic job on my gel pedicure and he gave a good massage too. They went out of their way to make me feel welcome and get me the exact color and style I wanted and they even surprised me with a coffee from next door. I will definitely be back and bring friends and family in the future. Highly recommend.

Stopped here to get my gel x removed. Did not have an appointment and found it because it was close to my place, and they were so nice! They were able to squeeze me in and took great care of my nails. She was very precise with her polish placement and took the time to make sure my nails looked good. The place was cute, and the prices were reasonable! They even gave me a little gift bag for the holidays. Will definitely be coming back here in the future!

I've been wanting to get my nails done at Ryu, and I am so happy I came in today. The location is great, and they offer so many designs and colors! I went for a basic look just because I wasn't sure what I wanted today. Can't wait to come back for a fill.

My technician Natalie was very kind and walked me through all of my options before starting on my nails. She was very considerate, asking me if I liked my nails at every step of the way, and I love the way they turned out!!! I got gel-x with a design and they charged me $100 for the service, which is relatively cheaper than other salons in our area! I've gotten so many compliments on my nails, I love them! It was also very serene and welcoming inside, they offered me water and had tv playing! I'll definitely come back to Ryu for my next manicure :)

Second time! This time my nail tech, Tammy, did an amazing job with the Cat Eye nails I have been wanting to try! I thought it was going to be GelX nails again but she did acrylics/dip this time around. I am pretty quiet when it comes to getting my nails done as I use it as relaxation time and she did a great job I almost fell asleep LOL The magnetic process is super cool with the Cat Eye nails and it's so pretty! Next time I would get other colors done.

Absolutely loved my nails done by Janet!! RYU did well to accommodate me and I was able to be seen right away after scheduling a last minute appointment. Pink cat eye set by Kimmy! She had great attention to detail and took the time to make sure everything was perfect--from shaping to polish application. The salon also recently remodeled and looks really good! It really stands out from the other nail salons that I've been to.

This was my first time at this nail salon, and I had an incredible experience. Tammy was so sweet and accomplished my inspo pics to a T. You can tell she takes a lot of pride in her work and is very detail-oriented. She even mixed colors together to get the perfect shade of pink. The salon was clean and relaxing, and she made sure I was happy with every step. Loved my experience here!

Not sure how to express my gratitude to the RYU Nail Bar. It started with a phone call, inquiring if they accommodate someone with a disability and using a transport chair. The female on the other side of the phone, Sophia, with no hesitation, said "of course we can accommodate you!" Just then, an appointment reminder text for 4pm popped up on my phone. As soon as my husband pushed me in, friendly faces greeted us and made sure I was comfortable. Everyone there made adjustments and bent over backwards to assist me in being able to get my feet into the basin. Tears started flowing down my face as I couldn't believe that a nail shop would do all this for me. From Rose, who took care of my manicure, to Anne, who serviced my pedicure, they both were very sympathetic and crying with me the whole time I was there. My husband and I have called around to several shops, only to be told they are unable to accommodate or service clients in wheelchairs. RYU Nail Bar truly provides exceptional service and care to actually help me. Anne was such a sweetheart and we truly became close with the crew there. Thank you, Sophia, for saying YES in accommodating me. The whole salon, staff and atmosphere is about more than friendship, it's family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Had my nails done here with two other friends right before my bachelorette! I had only done my nails once before and my second experience with Ryu Nail Bar was so lovely! The ladies were so friendly and fun, and open to discussion nail designs. If any of us had an issue, they made sure to take care of it right away. Recently came in on a Sunday and while they were still booked with appointments, they got me in super fast! The owner's mom did my nails and boy was I lucky!!! She saw my cuticles needed some tlc and offered to touch them up. Brought a nice warm bowl with gold glitter flakes and a wrist pillow. And even when I was breaking my neck to look at my phone on the side of me she picked up and place it perfectly in the middle. Small things matter and she was attentive to make sure I had the best experience in every way from comfort to quality. Coming back in two weeks for my birthday set and to get my balayage touched up! I rarely leave reviews, but I feel this is important to share. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was not welcoming. The salon was not clean, and there was an unpleasant odor that made it hard to relax. Instead of creating a calming environment, all you hear is constant chatter among the staff, which adds to the uncomfortable atmosphere. The pedicure was also very disappointing. They advertise a massage, but it's barely even a massage--just a few light touches that felt rushed and meaningless. Overall, the experience was not worth it, and I will not be returning. It's frustrating how difficult it is to find a clean, relaxing, high-quality nail salon in the Tri-Valley area. Unfortunately, this was not it. read more

I came here the other day, and I'm not too fond of the workers here because they talk negatively about the customers or make rude comments. I'm Vietnamese and so are the workers, and although I didn't communicate in Vietnamese, they probably thought I don't understand the language. One lady who did my pedicure said to the manicure lady that I'm probably don't have money to pay for fancy designs or along the line (it's just not my style or aesthetic...I like plain colors, so that was plain rude). The other lady who did my manicure made negative comments about my cuticles. It was just rude, and she got slightly upset that I accidentally scratched the gel polish because she had to redo it that one nail. Like, it was an accident. I just had to sit through there and breathe through while they made comments about me. At the end, they reminded me to give them a tip, and of course, I gave them because what was I supposed to do? If you don't understand Vietnamese, you'd probably have a much better time than me. read more

I went to this salon about a month ago, it was my first time ever getting my toes done and I was excited. They did a beautiful job HOWEVER, 3 days later a fungus started to develop on my right toe and has gradually grown since. Then when the gel chipped off I noticed half my big toe nail bed was coming off. Obviously this isn't normal. I paid $80 plus gave my tech a $20 tip so yes, I am frustrated that this happened. Beautiful work but I do not believe that this is the most hygienic place. Lesson learned: looks may be deceiving. read more

My mom and I have been here a couple of times before, and we enjoyed this place a lot. However, we went in for an appointment at 4:15pm on a Sunday for a classic pedicure, and I was very disappointed. They rushed through the entire pedicure and finished in about 20 minutes. The stylist did not ask what type of pedicure I wanted, but they asked my mom what she preferred at the start. She did not trim my nails, nor did she clean up the cuticles. They advertise a 5 minute massage, but I barely received a 1 minute massage. By the time the stylist was ready to do my color, I looked over and my mom was still having her cuticles cleaned. I sat in the chair for a good 15 minutes or more waiting for my mom to finish up. I find it unfair to pay $40 for a half-done pedicure. As for the color application, there is paint on my cuticles. The corner of my big toe is missing color. The middle of my big toe also looks thin, as if the paint had been stripped by the clear coat. Furthermore, when I was going into my purse to get tip money, the lady kept smiling at me as if she was prompting me to tip her well. I am sad to be losing a new spot that I previously enjoyed. read more

The inspiration versus what I got! They were so busy so late in the day but made sure I received exactly what I asked for and I loved it :) Especially for nails that require lots of little detail and are a bit unconventional, I felt comfortable asking for adjustments and they were so patient and gave me their opinions as well. I called Priti (P-R-I-T-I) the receptionist at 1:00 PM to ask if the threading specialist I like was available. She told me yes, the specialist was available today and also tomorrow. I explained that I live an hour and a half away and specifically drive out for this particular service provider because she does great work. Priti said that was fine and told me there were no appointments scheduled, so I could come in anytime. At 2:35 PM, I called back to confirm that I would be coming and asked if there was an appointment available. She said they had an opening at 3:15 PM. I said that would work. She then abruptly hung up without taking my name or confirming anything. When I arrived and parked, I called back because I realized she had never taken my name to hold the 3:15 appointment. I had my seven-year-old daughter with me, who is sick, so I wanted to be sure the appointment was secured before bringing her inside. Priti told me she could not put my name down unless I physically came into the salon. I did not understand why my name could not simply be written down over the phone, especially since she was the one who hung up without confirming details. Then she started to say, show me your car .. I will come out to see you in your car so I know you are here. I got frustrated because why would I want anyone to see my car when I'm trying to give her my name for the appointment?! She said she doesn't believe me that I'm here and calling to put my name on the time, I was so confused! The situation escalated unnecessarily. Instead of resolving it professionally, she involved someone named Neil, who told me they would not service me and that I had to leave. For someone who drives 1.5-2 hours specifically for their services, this level of rudeness and lack of professionalism is unacceptable. Clear communication and basic courtesy would have prevented this entire situation. Unfortunately, due to the poor and dismissive customer service, I will not be returning. I will also report this to the business bureau.

Walked in and was pleasantly surprised at how big it was inside and all the services they offer. I come in once or twice a year, usually before a beach type vacation to get my back waxed. They have always had someone at the front desk when I walk in, but not this last visit. Let me mentioned before getting into it, the place is always clean, the entrance, Hallway and wax rooms. The wax service is always fast, professional and as relaxing as it can be getting waxed. I never had a scheduling problem until now either. This last experience was not good. I arrived at 1030 my scheduled time, but no one was at the front desk, but I could hear someone talking on the phone in the room behind the desk. I waited 5 minutes figuring they would come out, but no, so I start to ask if anyone here? No response for 2-3 min, so I asked again, then a lady with black and purple hair comes out of the room and say someone will be right with me and turns back around into the room to continue to talk on the phone, as if I was bothering her at work!! Then a few minutes later, another person comes out from down the hall (I think she was actually with a client) and asked if I have been helped, I said no and told her my appointment was at 1030, she tells me the appointment was at 1040 (this was at 1042, already past my apparently rescheduled appointment) and said someone will be with me shortly. Then the other lady that was talking on the phone comes out from the room behind the desks. I sat there about 5 more mins until my wax person arrives, say sorry for being late, and gets ready (it appears they changed the appointment because the wax person was running late), they never told me they changed the appointment time (no text like all the other notifications, which I like from this place). The appointment was never changed on the website, only locally, maybe they just lied for her, and told me 10:40. Oh and no one ever came out of the room behind the desk after the phone call lady, while I was waiting for my room to be ready. It was clearly a personal call at work and she didn't want to be bothered at work. At the end, I still tipped, against my better judgement, a lower 10% rather that the usually 20%. The wax person was late, but apologized. I think I will return because up until this time it has been great, but not sure.

I was looking for a place to get my nails done for our upcoming vacation and came across Ryu Nail Bar on IG. I am so happy that I've finally found a quality nail salon in San Ramon :) I booked online, super easy and convenient. I texted them to ask if I can add on my 5 year old daughter for a pedi and they answered back very quickly that they can accommodate We were very pleased with the service. I've been coming to RYU since their grand opening in May, and I've had consistently great experiences. The salon is always clean, and the staff is thoughtful about checking in to make sure I'm comfortable, like offering water during my appointment. Everyone has been friendly and welcoming each time I visit, which makes a big difference tbh I've had builder gel and pedicure services here, and they've always turned out really nice. I had an amazing experience getting a gel manicure and gel pedicure here! Tammy & Ann who took care of me were incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. They made sure I was comfortable the entire time, offering water and mimosas throughout the service, which was such a nice touch! This is the BEST nail salon I've ever been to!! All of the staff are so sweet and take such good care of you. The salon itself is so cute along with all of the chairs being comfortable enough to sit in for hours while you get your nails done. I got a gel builder manicure today and definitely one of the best nail salons in the area. The price is amazing for the quality and salon is clean and aesthetic and very roomy. The staff is extremely kind and considerate and very down to earth, and always ready to talk.
