I went in on a Friday morning with an appt after booking through instagram messaging (10/10 for ease). I saw their instagram and wanted to try out a new nail salon. I was greeted with a smile and the facility is clean as they're fairly new. I originally set my appt for a regular manicure, but was convinced to do gel. I normally do gel but haven't done my nails in a while and just wanted to be gentle but went with gel anyway because of the longevity of it. The reason for 2 stars: When my cuticles were getting cleaned up, I felt my skin being tugged a little too hard and it didn't feel very gentle. within 2 days, I had 2 nails already chopping and the gel was lifting. In less than a week, I have 5 nails chipping which shouldn't be happening with good quality gel. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately will not be back because I don't think it's quite quality polish. read more

I was assisted by Tammy, who used acrylic to extend the broken nails rather than replacing them with new tips. Unfortunately, the repaired nails began chipping within a week, and the fill was not filed smoothly on the sides to blend with the natural nail. Given the quality of the service and how quickly the repairs failed, I was disappointed--especially considering the $65 charge. I was super unhappy with my nails. Not only that, it only lasted TWO WEEKS! cut to today, I scheduled an appt with Natalie. I didn't with her the second time cause I was in a rush and couldn't do it on a Sunday. I had my Nails done by Natalie today. Oh my gosh! She is AMAZING! She made sure that she did my nails perfectly and helped me find the perfect color. It was night and day from the other tech I used. I also made sure I looked at the reviews before I chose the other lady. But this just goes to show to stick with the tech that works best for you. Natalie is amazing and super kind. I've gotten Gel-X nails done at Ryu Nail Bar twice now, and both experiences have been absolutely amazing. I always go to Minh Minh because she's so detailed, gentle, and truly cares about her work. The first time she did my nails was for my wedding, and they were perfect. Elegant, clean, and exactly what I envisioned. The second time was more recent, and once again, she nailed it (no pun intended!). Each set has lasted incredibly long! My first one stayed on for over two months without lifting or breaking, which is unheard of for me (regular gel nails just peel off my fingers in the shower). I also love that Gel-X has helped keep my natural nails healthy and strong underneath. I was excited to see a new nail shop open up next to my favorite boba shop in town so I decided to treat myself and get a mani pedi. I scheduled an appointment via Instagram which was super convenient and quick! There's also an online booking option which is great. The interior of the shop is clean and airy and the owner Minh greeted me warmly as soon as I entered. The salon had no typical nail polish fumes which was nice as I'm 7 months pregnant and was unsure about that prior to booking. I chose to get builder gel with a flower design on my nails and a classic gel pedicure. Pari did my nails and Jan did my pedicure. There were a lot of colors to choose from and Pari and Jan were both super nice and good at their job. They were efficient yet paid attention to detail which I appreciated. The issue really came in when 1 of the employees messed up my daughter's toe & she was asked to fix it & she had an attitude and was so rough. Listen - if you don't want to work with people or have someone speak up for their selves because they're paying for a service, you shouldn't be in customer service. I think it's pretty simple. 2nd of all, the prices they hit my daughter with for her fill was ridiculous. It was a simple French with a. Flower & they wanted $105. Unheard of. Literally unheard of. I am convinced they didn't wanna do her nails, furthermore when they first provided the price i was pretty vocal that the price didn't match what she wanted & then they walked away & never circled back to see if she wanted something different. This was only to be discovered when she was sitting there waiting to show them a different picture and waiting on someone to come help her. The other issue being that they were talking about us the entire time. Honestly i usually don't care, but i had my mom and daughter with me. This was our first and last time here. The girl that was in the front was very polite and kind, i do have to be honest with that. It's very unfortunate because we were looking for a new salon as this was closer to home. However - first impressions matter & them talking bad, not following up or even trying to be helpful - is so disappointing. I would have given it no stars if i could have.
