They have a wonderful garlicky rotisserie chicken, multiple kinds of fantastic sausages, chicken wings, burgers etc , but you will also find excellent ethnic Romanian dishes. Grilled Bronzini on some weekends, & amazing succulent braised beef every day. I have gone back just for their Braised Beef. Mashed Cannelli Beans with Vidalia Onion ragout (as a starter dip similar to Hummus or Baba Ghanoush ) and mashed root vegetables (as a side dish) are outstanding. During the season they have the Romanian Must, a fermented crushed grapes drink (crushed with skin, seeds, stems et all). Must is non alcoholic, but it eventually becomes wine. My friends have been eating for the last few years and brag how amazing the Romanian food is. So much better then other local restaurants and restaurants in the city. I have to review myself now, as I don't frequently. Ryan's BBQ is amazing. You just try everything on their menu. Especially the Romanian food. I saw another review on here and it's obvious that dude has the wrong restaurant. I had the opportunity to eat here yesterday and it was a neat experience. The BBQ is fusion style and the owners are Romanian. The chef and the hostess were gracious and super friendly. I started with the short rib appetizer, which was fresh, well seasoned and cooked well. I went there to eat BBQ but the hostess recommended the Bronzino with Polenta, also super well seasoned and prepared. I'm glad she recommended it. Found this gem of a place that reminded me of my childhood and all the good food my mom used to make for us. Tried a little of everything and all tasted amazing, freshly cooked. Especially loved the stuffed cabbage, wine braised beef, mashed cannelloni beans, mashed root veggies, potato salad and their soups are outstanding. Super Impressed - we had no idea what to expect from our first Romanian BBQ experience. However, from start to finish, everything was great. We were greeted immediately upon entering and made to feel welcome. The dining room itself is small - four tables. So, eating in would be for a small group only. Our party ordered water and tea - this are not fountain drinks; the water is bottled and the tea is canned - no ice. This is fine, a that is how beverages are served in europe - and with a glass. We were able to sample appetizers before our food came. We ordered the braised beef (marinated 24 hours in cabernet sauvignon) along with the mashed root vegetables. This meal was incredible! Restaurant offers soups, sandwiches, sausage, cage free chicken, ribs, wraps, etc. Husband and wife duo kind and accommodating. Restaurant is immaculate. Man, I love little spots like this. Husband and Wife team, super super friendly, and the food was fantastic. Coworker and myself came for lunch, they had 1/2 chicken with rice and beans special for under $10, phenomenal stuff. They brought out 3 hot sauces for us, and the chef even whipped us up some pickled onions on the side since "they pair well with the beans". This is Romanian style BBQ with a twist, the meats are mouth-watering and they use top quality ingredients. You don't have to be Romanian to appreciate the flavors. We had the weekend specials - mititei (skinless sausages) and ceafa de porc (grilled pork neck), both were outstanding. The fries were very fresh and crispy and the chef's special sauces (garlic and wasabi cucumber) were a hit. Also tried the split pea soup with smoked turkey - it was light and delicious, perfect for summer. Their ribs looked amazing, and the wine braised beef sounds delicious too, I would check those out next time. Great service from the owners, clean space accommodating small parties. We had an order that was picked up and then when we got it......there was sooooo much food. There was not one thing that any of us did not like. I loved the sausage with the cheese, the polenta and shrimp was so good we were fighting over who was getting the last piece of shrimp!!! Traditional Romanian food ( they also serve non-Romanian food ). I just discovered this place few weeks ago, my bad, although we are living just 10 minutes away . I decided to get bunch of stuff since I read good reviews and I was pretty hungry. I choose two soups ( beef and smoked pork ribs)- super delicious ( ca la mama acasa!!!), russian salad, fried fish with polenta and garlic sauce, stuffed peppers. Everything was really delicious , like home made food. Again, this place is highly recommanded if you are looking for simply cooked food, home style. I am romanian and appreciate if i find good romanian food since romanian cuisine is not very popular among other nationalities. Ryan's is one of the most interesting BBQ restaurants I have been to. In addition to the standard BBQ fare of ribs and chicken they offer Romanian specialties such as stuffed cabbage and lamb shanks. I tried the stuffed cabbage and it was great. It was very different from the standard Polish style we are familiar with. Instead of a sweet sauce, the cabbage is baked in a sauerkraut type sauce and served with polenta on the side. I also tried the ribs and they were tender, juicy and flavorful. They are slow roasted in the oven for three hours and then finished with a sweet BBQ sauce on the grill. The owners are a couple originally from Romania who love interacting with the customers. They have bbq and much more. I had the spit pea soup with smoke turkey. It was flavorful and tasted just like how spitpea should taste. We also got the quinoa salad (amazing), picked platter (sour and tons of flavor), onion salad (sweet yet salty) and the mashed root veggies (heavenly). Absolutely amazing food. Probably the best I've ever had in MY LIFE at least in the top 10 in my 55 years of dining and I have dined all over the country as a traveling rep. The rotisserie chicken lacked much flavor at all, and was no better than the pre-cooked ones you would get in a shop rite. Immediately, the reviews on this place caught my attention. We decided to try it for the first time. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich with fries and my boyfriend got the wine braised beef with mashed root veggies. All in all, the meat was very juicy and full of flavor. Just had the 1/2 chicken with rice, don't know how one reviewer compared it to shoprite. So much better. It had incredible flavor even in the white meat and incredibly tender.
