I've ordered from this restaurant many times and generally appreciated the convenience. Today, however, I stopped by in person and had an unexpectedly poor experience that made me reconsider ever going back. I requested a gyro, but asked for it in a tortilla wrap instead of the usual pita (which they offer). Instead of handling the small customization professionally, the staff seemed confused and irritated. The cashier misunderstood the order, and the cook loudly voiced his frustration from the back--while I was sitting right there. It was uncomfortable and completely unnecessary. When the food finally arrived, it was nothing like a gyro. It was overloaded with rice, barely any meat, and had none of the flavor or texture you'd expect. I didn't even finish it--and to make matters worse, I felt physically unwell shortly after eating. Restaurants should be able to handle a simple modification without attitude or confusion. And if you can't get a basic order right, with quality ingredients and respectful service, it's hard to justify supporting the business--no matter how close or convenient it may be.

I loveee Pita bowl! During Nutley's restaurant week I got to try them out and I'm glad I did. Having enjoyed pretty much everything I tried - I've been coming back for their bowls. I normally get the chicken gyro bowl which is they're delicious rice, a Greek salad, fresh pita with tzaziki sauce and perfectly seasoned chicken. The interior of this restaurant is absolutely beautiful - tons of traditional Greek art displayed and bright colors. I've never sat to dine in but they have a gorgeous space and a parking lot. Staff is friendly - I usually order online and pick it up. This place is really great but weeknight takeout, you can still customize things to make it healthy. Though if you don't want to stick to a lighter option - I really suggest the fresh pita and tzatziki. Delicious all around - give them a try!

This is a very small, hidden establishment tucked away in a corner area. My wife even made a comment that she never realized this was here. So, I placed our order via the phone. We got 2 NYC cart gyros, loaded greek fries and the spinach and artichoke balls. The spinach and artichoke balls were very good. I think it said it was supposed to come with hummus, but we didn't get any. The loaded greek fries were INSANE. We got it with chicken and it's topped with tzaziki sauce. The chicken was so flavorful and had a nice spice to it. Phenomenal touch. The yeeros (Gyros) were excellent. The beef/ Lamb combo was excellent. All ingredients inside were fresh AND it's done correctly with fries inside. Very few places do that. Could have used more tzaziki sauce as once you got halfway through, there was none. You can get extra sauce on the side, which I should have. I'm definitely be back as I want to give that spinach pie a shot.

Had a great lunch here. The Salmon bowl with shrimp was great and filling! I got it with tzatziki! I also got the pita chips with hummus that were yummy. They had a baklava cheesecake which I enjoyed, overall a great spot in Nutley!

Great service, tasty casual Greek food and good prices. Unfortunately, the avgolemono was thin and watery; not what I'm used to. Tasty just not what I know avgolemono to be. All in all a good dinner in a clean restaurant with thoughtful staff. ** update** Ordered via phone for pick up. Was ready when I arrived, staff was cheery and welcoming and the food was delicious!

The line was incredibly long, I waited in line for 2.5 hrs, and waited another 30 mins for my food. The people running this business are incredibly disorganized and unprofessional. I came specifically for the chicken isaw, because it was the 1 unique item on their menu. Everything else on their menu, you can get from any filipino restaurant, including ones not far off in raritan (Lutong Bahay & Ph Island) so I wouldn't have joined the long queue if it weren't for that. If you see a long queue wrapping around the corner of the street, you should have a staff member going around announcing each time you run out of a menu item so that we don't waste any time standing there. The paper they have magnetized on the truck isn't reliable because it was constantly flying off of their truck. that's what happened to me. It was my turn and they no longer had chicken isaw. None of their staff ever communicated items that were selling out to the people in line. Since at this point i've already stood there for 2.5 hrs, I just ended up ordering the regular bbq. After ordering, you then have to stand by another table where people are gathered waiting for their orders to be called out. I stood there for another 30 minutes, getting frustrated throughout. Because while in any other circumstance i'd understand that they're still trying to cook the skewers, I was continuously seeing that as skewers were being placed on the aluminum trays where all the cooked ones are, their relatives who were just sitting and hanging out behind the counter/table, would grab skewers from that tray and snack on it. Napaka bastos! (How rude!) In front of the customers who have been standing there waiting for their orders! This turned me off the most. I got my order later on and it wasn't even good. You're better off going to Leo's bbq if you want good skewers or even Philippine Island in Raritan. 0/10 worst service, most unprofessional, and most disorganized establishment i've ever been to.

Its English name comes from a Greek legend: Zeus had an affair with a beautiful woman named Io. When Hera, his wife, discovered his infidelity, she turned Io into a cow and created a horsefly to sting her on the rump. Io jumped clear across the strait. Thus, "bous" = "cow" and "poros" = "crossing place": Bosphorus = "crossing place of the cow." Located off of busy Franklin Avenue in Nutley, my partner, our friends, and I have decided on our dinner at this family-owned-and-run BYOB establishment, which has been open since 1995. A reservation was made for a party of 4 by calling their restaurant. Upon arrival after three years, we were welcomed by Nora, the owner, and made our way to a table by the piano inside, evoking a cozy, thoughtfully designed, upscale vibe with music playing softly. Their menu features Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. For starters, we decided on the Puffed Rill Pastry and Grape Leaves. Our main meal consisted of all lamb dishes (Lamb Shish Kebab, Beyti Kebab, Lamb Chops, and Lamb Sauté). Our food was fresh, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection, accompanied by a beautifully presented dish. Everything was authentically made with love here. Wish we could have stayed for dessert, as they looked amazing, but some of us were in a rush. It's definitely on the higher end cost but worth the taste. Our visit ended with a hug and a piece of candy.
