    Lamb Gyro Sandwich
    Mel T.

Stopped in to pick up some lunch on a Sunday 1:30. I didn't get good vibes because 1. There were no other customers there 2. It was an 80 degree day and the AC wasn't on, so who knows if the food handling is safe. Decided to go against my gut and order anyway, and the food was actually pretty good (albeit salty), and we didn't get food poisoning (YAY!) I had a lamb gyro (comes with fries), and my BF had the lamb platter. Both came with a considerable amount of meat. They also have different specials each day. On Sundays, it's $1 off platters/meals so make sure you ask about it before you pay or else they won't deduct it. Is this the best Halal food ever? No. Will it do the trick if you're craving it? Yes, but just be sure to have plenty of water at hand for after the meal.

This place is a joke. This is what your platter looks like when you take out the lettuce

They really give low amounts of food and up charge for lettuce. Order on Uber eats and had a very bad experience and would not recommend. 20 bucks for half a portion of rice and beef, food arrived super cold as well. Missing pita bread that was "supposed" to come with the food.

Was so excited to see Mix Platter open and to have something like the New York style cart food in Hudson County. So when I saw it finally open earlier this week, decided to try it out for lunch. - Food: They seem to have a lot of options for their platters, including fish in addition to the regular meats and Falafel. I went with the Falafel Platter which comes with Salad, Rice, Falafels (four) and one small piece of Pita Bread (~$7.50). They allow you to pour the white sauce and hot sauce yourself, so I essentially drowned my food in the white sauce. Unfortunately, the falafels were terrible -- they tasted very bad with an oily aftertaste. They were obviously not fresh, as I saw an employee take out the falafels from a huge frozen bag. The rice and salad weren't anything special and frankly pretty bland, but went well with the white sauce which was delicious! - Service: The service was ok, aside from an incident where I had to wait for a couple minutes to order food because a manager was yelling at one of the employees, which was a bit awkward. Aside from that, fairly quick service after the order was placed. In general, while I had high hopes for Mix Platters, I don't think I'll be coming back here.

Falafel platter with salad and fries (minus the pita that's supposed to come with it)

I really wanted to like this place as I observed construction and couldn't wait to try it. For starters, the service was ok. As we waited to place our order it seemed like there was a semi heated discussion taking place in front of us behind the counter between 2 employees. So for about a minute we stood there waiting for them to stop talking before they even took our order. At one point, they looked at us then continued with their discussion. The establishment appears to be super clean and bright so that's a plus. I ordered the falafel platter ($7.47 including tax) It came with 4 falafels, rice or fries, salad and pita. I chose fries instead of rice. Unfortunately the only good thing about this platter was the fries. The falafel was not good at all. It had a terrible after taste that turned me off from even finishing the first bite. I observed the cook pull the falafels from a bag to cook so my guess is that they are pre-made. They also forgot to include my pita. I honestly don't know if I'd come back as this is the first time that I've never been able to finish a meal because I didn't like the taste. I personally love falafel so I was really surprised that it tasted this bad.

    Could've tasted better and hotter
    Liz P.

Too bad nothing here is made fresh in house. Everything is frozen and pre made. I was actually very excited to have this place open up but after checking out their quality, I think I'll stick to the carts in Jersey City. The only thing they put on their flat top to cook was my pita. My chicken came out of a warming pan and it wasn't even hot when I bit into it. The white sauce comes out of a container and who knows how much calories and preservatives are in there. But that's about all that gave my gyro any flavor. I agree with other reviewers on their customer service. They talk way too much to themselves and don't pay attention to you, even when you're clearly standing there ready to order. I saw other people ordering platters to go and they were stingy on the amount. Are they not aware that Halal Guys pack their tins up to the top with food and only charge $7??? I saw the man put lettuce in this guy's container and then take some off. The lettuce that costs a dollar to buy that yields a crap ton of portions. Seriously?? And my tabbouli had sand in it! I can't come back here, nothing is fresh. Go eat at Mamoun's in Hoboken for awesome falafel and meats!!

Delicious and fresh. Ordered through seamless. Order came early and packed! Enough sauces and everything is delicious. Definitely order from them!

We ordered pretty much the same thing as the first time with the addition of the Cheese Borek to try out. It had a great balance of salty cheese flavor to the crispy phyllo dough. It went well with the Fattoush Salad (that came with the Mixed Platter). We were 3 people this time and the Mixed Platter for 2 was plenty of food along with all the appetizers we got. The Iced Mint Lemonade could have a bit more mint and less sugar but I found it sweet and refreshing. Their Hummus and Babaghanoush here are both excellent and pairs well with the warm pita they give you. Please do yourself a favor and check out El Jardin! Delicious food, amazing portions, and family-owned Palestinian restaurant.

Really wish I took photos - therefore just like the great convos with the wonderful, extremely personable and educational counter gentlemen - will be coming back real soon with photos Review: Hudson Kebab House isn't just good--it's memorable. I had the gyro wrap, my wife had the chickpea salad with falafel, and both dishes were so on point they brought me right back to my time in Istanbul. Flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. The wrap was balanced, not greasy, and the falafel had that perfect crisp-to-fluff ratio. But what really stood out? The person behind the counter. Not sure if he's the owner or just part of a family-run operation, but his energy was magnetic. He checked in with us--and with everyone who came through the door--like we were all regulars. Friendly without being overbearing, helpful without the upsell. He made the food taste even better, if that's possible. This spot has soul. It's the kind of place you return to not just because the food is excellent (it is), but because it feels good to be there. I'll be back very soon to try the kebabs, and when I do, expect a full deep dive--possibly with pictures, definitely with passion. 15/10 - must try. Strong BUY, erm, sry, not investing.. The broth is amazing. I loved every bite of that. Then we got the pastilla and tajine d'agneau. The pastilla is delectable. A must. It's some of the wildest flavor combinations I've ever experienced. You're eating shredded chicken mixed with cinnamon and white powdered sugar. All within phyllo dough. The tajine is fun to try, but it was just OK. It's kind of like a lamb stew. I will give kudos to a very soft and not too chewy Lamb. The prunes and apricots are such a unique flavor duo with these. Couscous is fun. This meal was a 4 for me but everything else, divine. The music was fun. They a live guitarist and sax player serenaded us. Dim lighting. Such a prime location. Lovely to walk through this neighborhood after you're stuffed.

The restaurant was virtually empty inside and had plenty of tables outside, but I was still told that I needed to wait until my companion arrived before I could be seated. In the meantime, I parked myself at the bar and gazed out the massive windows at the stunning Manhattan skyline views. When my friend arrived, we asked for a table on their outdoor deck, which was located just to the side of the restaurant, so that it would not block the views for those in the indoor dining room. We were seated at one of their comfortable tables, but there was some strange water dripping down onto my legs, so we moved to another one. I was not drinking that night, so while my friend ordered a glass of wine, I opted for the Panoma mocktail made of Seedlip Grove 42 non-alcoholic spirit, peach, agave, lime, and club soda. It was sweet, bubbly, and refreshing. We received a basket of toasted, dry bread with their proprietary, aromatic olive oil. We also munched on two shared appetizers. First, we opted for a bowl of their Calamari to be grilled and served with a lemon emulsion. The squid rings were tender, and the citrus marinade was fantastic! It was my favorite bite of the evening. The Traditional Greek Salad was also tasty, though. It included chunks of vine-ripened tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, olives, red peppers, barrel-aged feta cheese, oregano, aged balsamic, and extra virgin olive oil. A few of the tomatoes were a bit mushy, but the majority of the salad was very fresh. For our entrees, we both ordered the Lavraki, a mild and flaky sea bass, which was apparently grilled whole over charcoal. Though the filet was supposed to be de-boned, I definitely found a half-dozen or so in my butterflied piece of fish. It was topped with some sort of sauce that was similar to hollandaise, as well as a bunch of capers. It was a very enjoyable plate of seafood. However, since it did not come with any side dishes, we decided to share the Foraged Mushrooms and the Brussel Sprouts. The fungi were varied, offering a blend of aromatics and layers of earthy flavors. The sprouts were a bit salty and overcooked, but not terrible. Once our meal had concluded and we had turned down dessert, we were offered water refills twice. Both times we said that we would love more water, and both times it never arrived. So, that was a bit odd. Otherwise, the service was fine, but not specifically memorable, aside from the manager wishing us a nice evening and thanking us for coming. While the food was above average, the real draws of Molos were the amazing views available from a majority of their tables, as well as the sophisticated elegance of their indoor dining room.

The decor inside feels homey, nostalgic, and thoughtful. They weren't busy at all on a Sunday around 1:30pm so we were seated right away. We started with 1pc Lahmacun which is often called Turkish pizza. It's minced beef, tomatoes, onions, and spices on fresh flatbread. Their flatbread and even the complimentary bread we received before this was to die for! Some of the best bread I've ever had at a Middle Eastern restaurant. It was warm, fresh, and airy. The Lahmacun had delicious flavor and paired well with the vegetables it's served with. 1pc is plenty to share among 2 people. It was now time for the Mixed Grill which was presented beautifully! All the meat was outstanding, tender, juicy, smoky, you name it. I honestly didn't have a favorite because they were all delicious. I love that it's served with both rice and salad with the salad being on both sides of the plate making it even easier to share. This was easily sharable among 2 people and could even stretch out to 3 people if you order other appetizers. We ended with the Finn Sütlac which is a Turkish-style baked rice pudding. It was creamy and lightly sweet but the rice grains were still whole and slightly undercooked which I didn't particularly enjoy. I'm used to them being softer and even smaller in size. Beyti Kebab is easily a 4.5/5; some of the best Turkish food I've had across NY/NJ. Highly recommend!
