Shish Kebab

I had the pleasure of dining at Vezir and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance and inviting décor set the perfect tone -- traditional touches with a modern twist. We started with a selection of meze: the hummus was velvety smooth, and the stuffed grape leaves were incredibly fresh with a sweet touch. Delicious. For the main course, we shared the Kofte Kebab and the Shish Kebab. Everything cookie to perfection. Dessert? Who could go wrong with pistachio baklava. One of the best we've ever had. Server was quite but polite, nice, and helpful. Would absolutely return.

Was walking on Ridge Road and saw this new Turkish restaurant next to Carvel. The inside is a maroon purple color which nice wall art. I'm glad that they were able to transform this place into a cute restaurant. The woman that helped me pick out the desserts was very kind and welcoming. My favorites were the cookie and the classic baklava. Can't wait to go back and review the dishes!

Was walking home from the train station and decided to pickup some sweets such as baklava from here and grab their menu for future meals. Definitely got the pistachio baklava which I absolutely loved. Also got the rolled kataifi - this one was ok. Also tried the cookie like sweet - loved that, it was stuffed with pistachios. Family owned and they seemed so sweet. Really excited to go back and try the wraps or bowls.

The food is amazing, from the silky humus to the flaky Sigara Borek, juicy tasty kabobs and the best rice pilaf I've ever had to desserts to die for! Cozy atmosphere and friendly, attentive service. You must to try this place. You will not be disappointed!

Baklava Cheesecake

We've been back to Vezir a few times to grab to-go after trying their desserts. We've had entrees like Chicken & Adana kebabs. The chicken is always moist, juicy, and flavorful. You can really taste the spice blends they use. Their hummus is also a standout. Be sure to save room for their rice pudding and baklava cheesecake - it's light and perfectly balanced, not too sweet at all. And what a lovely touch that they always include a few complimentary squares of their delicious semolina cake. We like coming back, the owners are warm and welcoming. We've made Vezir a regular part of our dinner routine, enjoying their food at least a couple of times a month. Support this local business !

Great New Turkish restaurant in Lyndhurst. Well appointed with great service. Our kabob was tasty. Enjoyed our baklava and Turkish coffee at end of meal .

3 stars for portion sizes that are enough to feed you for a whole day…read more.. Soo I was craving a chicken and rice platter drenched in white sauce. I know there's a million Halal spots popping up, and I will admit I'm very, very picky when it comes to platters. I miss the good ol' days on 53rd street in NYC... I came by around 10pm and was served quickly by a friendly employee. They have platters, burgers, wraps, wings, chicken tenders, fries, etc. I ordered the chicken rice platter (~$13.50). They cook the meat fresh on the grill and then you choose your toppings at the salad bar (olives, onions, peppers, tomatoes, etc.). It's a bit pricier than other places, but the portion size is huge. The container felt HEAVY lol. It's just a shame it went to waste because I really didn't enjoy the food. I only finished about half of it before I tossed the rest. The white sauce was almost flavorless and was VERY watery. The chicken wasn't as well-seasoned. No distinct spices or aroma. Every bite left me with a very greasy and salty taste in my mouth. The side salad was just okay. I was disappointed. The only saving grace was the rice... it was fluffy and the best part of the whole platter. Not sure if I came on an off night or...? Don't let my review stop you from trying. It might just not be the Halal spot for me.

(He got me a mixed platter) The portion size is big enough for SHREK. The price was perfect for a gambling degenerate like myself. Don't think twice, just go. This is definitely a place to bring your side piece... your main girl will never know. Unless your main girl is a TJ MAXX shopper, that's right across the street, in that case be cautious taking your side piece here.

Everything is always seasoned and cooked to perfection. Portions are large enough to share or better yet, don't share and have leftovers for lunch tomorrow! Know before you go- it's a BYO. If you have to wait for a table ( usually not a long wait) standing there while starving and smelling fire, smoke and meat is torture, but you'll appreciate your meal even more. Also when it's closing time, it's closing time. They're not shy about letting you know it's time to leave. Not rude at all but not the place to linger after hours. All in all, a terrific dining experience, part of my regular rotation.

I don't drink, but love that they are byob and I can tell a lot of the other customers enjoyed that too. They start you off with bread and butter and some olives. Ordered half chicken, sweet potato fries, and full rack of baby back ribs - takes 45 mins but was worth the wait. Loved every bite I had. Ofc had to have some bites with their bbq and spicy sauce. Service was great too! I'll definitely be back here.

Its English name comes from a Greek legend: Zeus had an affair with a beautiful woman named Io. When Hera, his wife, discovered his infidelity, she turned Io into a cow and created a horsefly to sting her on the rump. Io jumped clear across the strait. Thus, "bous" = "cow" and "poros" = "crossing place": Bosphorus = "crossing place of the cow." Located off of busy Franklin Avenue in Nutley, my partner, our friends, and I have decided on our dinner at this family-owned-and-run BYOB establishment, which has been open since 1995. A reservation was made for a party of 4 by calling their restaurant. Upon arrival after three years, we were welcomed by Nora, the owner, and made our way to a table by the piano inside, evoking a cozy, thoughtfully designed, upscale vibe with music playing softly. Their menu features Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. For starters, we decided on the Puffed Rill Pastry and Grape Leaves. Our main meal consisted of all lamb dishes (Lamb Shish Kebab, Beyti Kebab, Lamb Chops, and Lamb Sauté). Our food was fresh, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection, accompanied by a beautifully presented dish. Everything was authentically made with love here. Wish we could have stayed for dessert, as they looked amazing, but some of us were in a rush. It's definitely on the higher end cost but worth the taste. Our visit ended with a hug and a piece of candy.

Crêpes are an ultra-thin pancake common in France that can be made sweet or savory, typically rolled or folded with a variety of fillings from jam or Nutella to ham and cheese or fruits. They can be eaten for breakfast, dinner, brunch, dessert, or even a snack. Situated on Riverside Avenue in Lyndhurst, this cozy, simple hidden gem establishment offers an array of healthy options on their diverse menu, to which my partner and I returned after 8 years. Upon entering 3rd Wave Cafe, we were able to get a booth along the wall in an upbeat, casual vibe as the music was playing throughout. We decided on the Tropical Crêpe and Avocado BLT Wrap. I started with a French iced coffee that was really strong and served in a glass mug. The crêpe was fluffy, and the texture was great. I could tell all the fruit in it was fresh because it was sweet. The crepe was decorated nicely with a Nutella drizzle and whipped cream dollops that made it visually pleasing. The food, on top of being good-tasting, had a great presentation. The price was reasonable and the portion a healthy size. The service was friendly and not rushed; our server was Am. We left feeling satisfied and content, and we can recommend returning to explore other menu items.
