The next time went better but I got an early appt. I didn't really get my trial contacts on time (they said they would call me but didn't), which led to another delay. Then I had to schedule an appt to try them on, as opposed to just picking them up. I just feel like it's really complicated. Doctors se good but the overall experience was not efficient.

But as this concerns a matter of personal health and wellness, I'm posting this two star review for this business. I went to this establishment recently (in September 2025) for a routine eye exam and I sure wish I had read the lowest reviews first. One positive: I was seen on time by a Dr. Ayysha but before that, the office manager, did some "intake tests", such as checking pressure in the eyes and also doing, rather ineptly (one eye had to be redone) the retinal imaging. What qualifications she had (besides referring to a chart on the wall of what is the correct position of the eye), I have no idea. Dr. Ayysha performed a very perfunctory exam and appeared in sloppy non-professional (IMO) garb, as if she had just come back from a workout. She was personable, there's another positive. I asked for the retina scan photos to be sent to me in files (which a previous provider had done) and was told by the office manager that she didn't know how to do that and people usually take a photo with their phones. I asked Dr. Ayysha if she could get the scans sent to me and she said that the OM would "try to find out" how to do that. I'll check back in a week if I don't receive anything but I'm not optimistic. Finally, I tried on various frames and before leaving remarked that many of the frames are dirty (meaning, smudged, dusty, etc.). They obviously hadn't been cleaned in quite a while. The not-the-office manager guy just said 'thank you". OK, well then. I won't know if anyone cleaned the frames because I won't be returning to this business for new glasses.

The optometrist Alexa Ayyash was very disrespectful and dismissive of my questions. She seemed to be in great haste to simply hand me a prescription and see me off with minimal effort. Wasn't she getting paid for her job? She acted as if each request or question was a burden to her time. I felt disrespected for every question or request I made. I will now have another exam and have to pay out of pocket for it. I am so extremely disappointed to have wasted a visit with her. There is high degree of unprofessional attitude and lack of respect for clients. I don't recommend anyone to schedule eye exams with Vision works, as there is total lack of respect, understanding and empathy for clients in both certain staff and doctors here. I've been to eyequity multiple times to get glasses. All frames with single vision lenses are a…read moreflat cost, currently $139, which includes all of the coatings (no weird upcharges!). Thus is a better deal than you'd find at lenscrafters, or sterling optical, and comparable to what you'd find at Jcpenney or Sears optical. Unlike the cheaper department store options, however, Eyequity can make most single vision glasses in an hour if they have your lenses in stock. And, perhaps the best part of eyequity, is that they have an incredible selection of styles. Note that I said "styles" and not "brands and styles," as the reason eyequity is so inexpensive is that they don't stock top tier brands like Rayban. But if it looks the same, who cares? The lenses are perfect, and I have actually gone back to my doctor and have the glasses looked at and determined that the prescription was made perfectly (because it was a new script and I wasn't sure when it took me a while to adjust). Please do note, the opticians are friendly and helpful, but they are just opticians. You must visit a doctor first to get your prescription and then bring that to the desk. Also, I know there are a lot of online options for glasses like warby parker and zenni optical. These may save you a tiny bit on this stores flat rate. For me though, the convenience of trying on multiple colors and styles (I must have tried on 20 pairs of glasses as they kept pulling more out from behind the desk as we talked through my options) in person, rather than waiting and waiting to try something at home when I needed glasses right away, given the fair price at eyequity made sense. Finally, a little tip for UM employees with premiere care insurance, or anyone with an eye exam benefit in your medical insurance: you can go get your script from one of the weird doctors covered by your plan for free, then bring the script here to really save the most money. Seriously, it's a weird little kiosk, but I've verified the quality of my glasses, the employees are super helpful, and the style options rival (and I daresay exceed) what you might find at a place like See or Visionworks. Give it a shot!

My wife had a pair of glasses bought from America's Best in Canton MI. The screw fell out of the glasses. My wife was able to find the screw and the lens. When my wife went to America's Best in Canton MI and asked if they could put her glasses back together; my wife was told the glasses were more than a year old and America's Best would not fix the glasses. Thinking that this sounded odd my wife went back a second time several days later to a different person and was told the same thing. They will not fix her pair of glasses because the glasses are over a year old but she could buy a new pair of glasses.

At least one of the two I pick out each of those times I have went always gets scanned and marked as "discontinued." What does that mean? Not a discount but I have to go put away the glasses and find another one. That immediately bumps it down to 2 stars. Keep better track of inventory! Update it and look it over Americas best!
