First of all, I ordered a plain cheese pizza with extra cheese. What I got was a cold cheese pizza with a regular amount of cheese and I also ordered buffalo wings that were fleshy and undercooked. Rustys is our favorite pizza joint in town. Even though the prices are insane, it's worth it to order their pizzas because the quality is so great. We've been loyal customers since I was a child. I've lived in SB for 36 years. In the past year, the quality of service has declined. 6/10 orders are completely wrong. Either wrong toppings, crust, not including ranch or sodas. The most common mistake we've experienced is them not using the little plastic pizza tables. The last pizza I got was completely crushed and everything was on the inside lid. I went back last weekend to SB with my boyfriend for a mini vacation at the funk zone and we stopped by Rusty's because I wanted him to try the pizza. And it was just as delicious as I remembered. The crust is like a higher quality Torino's frozen pizza. Not "high quality," but better than frozen pizza. The cheese was solid and the sauce was good. But c'mon, Rusty. I paid you for a hot pizza. The entire indoor seating area is closed and the arcade games are out of order, soda choices are limited - of course all covid precautions. I was hungry for a pizza but only had a short time before catching my train. I'm lucky this place was a block away. I ended up ordering a pie with Canadian bacon. Service here is very fast. In no time I was on my way back to the train station. I enjoyed my pie very much. The sauce was perfect, and at was loaded with cheese and Canadian bacon. Five star pizza but a three star experience overall. Get it together, Rusty's corporate! Rusty's has been a delivery favorite of mine for decades. In my opinion, their pizza is the very best in town. Pricing is certainly on the higher side but I have reveled in receiving their occasion mailer with useful coupons. You can imagine my delight when I saw that this location was listed on the 2020 Axxess card app. As evidenced by my associated photos, this very location featured a large pepperoni pizza plus a half sub sandwich for the remarkable price of $14.65. For Rusty's fare, that is considered a great deal. When I came for dinner the other night, I was rather excited to utilize this special. I get to the cash register, order, and am met with a "sorry, we don't honor the Axxess coupons here." I pull up the app and reread the criteria but am told that they were instructed to only accept tangible coupons because they weren't equipped with the Axxess app to redeem the online specials on their end. For a 50 year local business that certainly appears to be with the times, I was quite surprised when I heard this. Why would the company invest in advertising within the popular Axxess program if their mentioned deals were in fact a scam? Why wasn't I provided with physical coupons when I bought the card? So many questions but until something changes, I remain disappointed. If you have the Axxess card and come across the same coupon I did, don't get your hopes up. read more
