It's never a wrong time for tacos. The size of these tacos are a little larger than your normal street taco and they are really filling. The brisket tacos are amazing. The meat is tender. The fried shrimp taco was another favorite. Their selection of salsa really compliments the tacos and tastes extremely fresh. Their queso is very tasty and they give you a hot bag of homemade chips along with it. Their chips are on the next level. I couldn't stop eating them. I couldn't wait to "taco" 'bout this place. My son wanted Blaze Pizza and my daughter couldn't pass up the smell from Rusty's so she skipped pizza and ordered two #13s. Ground beef was well flavored. I wish they offered a hard shell corn tortilla option but she was satisfied with a soft shell. Employees were very friendly. I love that there are so many meat options that my whole family can find something. I double like that they offer beer, some of which are local draft beers. Not going to lie, first impression of the restaurant was not good. I thought the tacos were going to suck, maybe because it looks like a chain restaurant (not actually sure if it is or not), but the tacos were bomb. I ordered a vegan friendly, black bean taco and it was so good. I also got a grilled fish taco. They were not shy with the amount of fish and also did not overload it with too much cabbage. Salsa is not very spicy and probably more like juera salsa, but I digged it (coming from a juera)! Margaritas aren't bad, could've used less ice and more drank, but will tell them next time (hehe)! I hadn't ate all day and I was starving so we at here last night and I had the brisket tacos when I got home I started to feel nauseated and it kept getting worse, I couldn't shake the feeling. All of sudden I was vomiting violently all night, I could smell the cheese and the grease that was on that taco. Omg making sick now. I was sooo very very sick then the stomach cramping and among others things that began to happen. I have never been this sick in my entire life, I have a strong stomach but this was ridiculous. Not to mention we are leaving town today and I'm in no shape to go no where but I have to. Someone needs to take a look at the cheese or meat. Came here for lunch with a friend. You order at the counter and then choose a seat inside or under the covered patio and the staff brings your food to you. There is a self serve condiment area that includes different types of salsas. I ordered 3 tacos (fried fish, chicken and brisket). My favorite was the fried fish, followed by the brisket and then the chicken. The chicken lacking in seasoning was really my only complaint. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. Wonderful in theory but I find myself rather confused. There is small buffer zone for patrons to stand in line to order, otherwise you catch yourself awkwardly waiting with one foot indoor and one foot out or too closely into someone's personal space. The menu in it itself has its own set of complexities. I wish there were combos that were offered instead of having to find each individual item. There is one employee in charge of sides and beverages and also bussing tables which seems inefficient for a busy night and I only say that because it took my margarita considerably longer to come out than all of our food. What saved this review was the tacos. The entire reason we came here. The spicy fried chicken taco warms the heart and the Texican is a cult favorite with beef, cheese, lettuce and tomato and lots of different salsas to choose from. Pretty damn good for a taco chain! I've been avoiding this place because of that fact...chain their food won't be good. Wrong! I had the Baja shrimp taco and the grilled fish taco and mmmmmm Baby were they yummy in my tummy!! They give you chips and salsa for free with the meal which was awesome. For the most part the place looked clean but I wasn't crazy about the set up of the soda station. Not sure why but it just makes the restaurant look more crowded and appear dirty because it gets messy quick. I would also recommend for the outdoor seating in this hot town some misters? Might get more customers to eat on the patio in 95+ weather. Definitely going back to a Rusty's in the future! read more

I'm sorry for having to give this place only a one star but, that's only because Robert the manager was very nice. But when I came back the next day it was like they took a sixty degree turn, and for the worst! The staff mender that was taking our order was very VERY unfriendly, as if he didn't like his job. I try very hard to be happy and nice to the people out there working hard to make a living but this guy boy... it was very obvious he didn't like his job!!! It wasn't like there was a line, we were the only ones in there at the time not busy at all. So I just that go but then, when we got called for our order they gave it to me in a take out bag. I did make a comment to the lady handing it to me " we I didn't ask for take out but ok" then I proceeded to ask her if there was sour cream and guacamole in the bag, she just walked away. I literally had to scream at her to please acknowledge me, she still didn't! Another man had to come to me and get the bag from me and told me it was the wrong order. Boy talk about customer service! I guess the days of "the customer is always right" is long gone!! I just don't understand it... if your so unhappy with your job then... why are are you there? In our previous experience we didnt get to try the tacos because of the order mess up. This weekend we finally got to try their vegetarian tacos. I would 100% recommend these tacos anytime. So I get my octane boost off of quality Mexican food, especially good taqueria-style tacos. Saw this place while up in ABQ and was initially worried it might be expensive. It is after all in Uptown. Kidding. Had steak fajita, chicken fajita, Asada taco, and chips with queso... all for $18! Portions are generous and the food is epic. So happy I gave it a try. This place has some seriously good tacos! Solid choice that you won't regret. I really feel like anyone can make street tacos these days, but it takes the right combinations, quantities, and quality to really nail them these days and while these weren't the best I've ever had, they were pretty far up there! I had the carne asada, green Chile chicken, and roasted pork tacos with chips and salsa. As I mentioned before, tacos were solid (green Chile chicken was a little bland to me, but still better than most) but the real standout was the rojo salsa! Awesome taco place... the green Chile Chicken Taco and my steak fajita taco was delicious. I was here around 2ish in a Monday, my food came out quick and hot....AND they had my favorite cider on tap (Tractor Brewing Delicious Red). The service was fantastic, attentive staff, first timers always get a run down of the menu and are provided the Top 3 favorite. Cashier is very personable! I will definitely be coming back. I love Rusty Taco. It's almost a weekly stop for me. The menu is a la carte, so you get to mix and match tacos. The fried shrimp and all the chicken strip options are awesome!
