This place is so cute and offers food picky and refined eaters alike. I really like how the staff seem like family. They are so cute.

Is it a coincidence that almost all of the reviews are from out of state visitors? Interesting, isn't it? At any rate - It's standard, if not above standard grub. You're going in basically for good bar food. I tend to think their steaks are on the average side, and are pricey. The rest though? Goooood stuff. I've been probably 25 times. The nachos are a mountain of gooey delicious, the wings are always good, with lots of different choices for sauces, their burgers are big, juicy, sexy masses of beef, and there are some unique choices for burgers. Sitting on the bar side is the way to go. It's cozy, high top seating, right next to the bar. The dining room is a bit antiquated, I guess, it just feels different. Bar side is lively and fun. read more

Always great food and great drinks! I love their Philly cheesesteak sub and their mozzarella wedges

Completely remodeled and beautiful inside. Outside seating recently opened. We've recently gone twice for dinner and once for drinks and an app. We tried dinner a second time hoping for a better outcome . The service is always top notch but the entrees are mediocre at best. For a steak house, I would not recommend the steak. However the wings and bacon wrapped scallops were fabulous. read more

Food was just... OK. Was hoping for a better steak at a steak house.. Service was very slow.

The two stars are for the staff. The food is awful. Salty, soggy, pedestrian, greasy poor quality pub food. The family next to us had a similar experience. The woman liked hers, but everyone else at there table was as grossed out as we were. If you have a bland pallet and enjoy salt and mush, this is the place for you. read more

Had a classic midwestern Americana experience here with my family. This reminded me of the places my Ohioan brethren would frequent for a night out that was somewhere between diner and classy. My family loved this place and I thought it was pretty darn tasty, too. Just as long as you remember the beginning descriptions in this review, you too, will understand the four stars. This may be the place my family asks to go to again and again. Steamed veggies, reasonable prices and portions, baked potato, French onion soup in a crock... what more could the over 60 crowd ask for? The answer: nothing. I would definitely come back as the under 60 crowd and patronize the bar aka "Watering Hole" and the deck area. I don't care if the deck is essentially in a parking lot... it's outside, has chairs and tables, and I can drink beer. Sold. I would also return for what looked like a very good burger. They had salads or a veggie burger for vegetarian options. I could throw down a few cold ones and feel pretty damn good about live music outside in the summer. Rustler's, I may not be old, but I'll be back! read more

Rustler's Steak House - Rubbery cheap fish and tasteless coleslaw - Steakhouses Near Me - Windham, Maine

I've been here a few times. Average interior but cozy enough. Full bar which is a good thing of course. Although the few times I've been I've had less than good luck with the bar tender. The food is alright nothing that has me coming back over and over. It match's the price is fair. They have nice candle they light on each table for ambience which is nice. The staff I've found to be a toss up. To good and sometimes standoffish. It's in a good location though right off the Main Street in windom. Can't miss it and easy to get too. Plenty of parking, And lots of ways to get in and out of. All in all don't let my bad experiences turn you off. If your out for a new adventure pop in have a drink at the bar or a draft to be safe lol, And scope it out for yourself. read more

The worst meal I have ever had. I am going home feeling ill. The chicken tenders were tasteless, the salad looked old, my loaded mashed potato's tasted like they were half powdered and half real. The server was nice and attentive. We won't be back. Ever. read more

My family ate at Rustlers last night for my daughters birthday dinner. We sat at the outdoor seating. Our waitress took forever to take our order, over an hour. It was in the evening and the wind was picking up, so we asked if we could go inside. Oh no she said there is no room. I told her it was my daughters birthday at the beginning of our dinner and I would like to get her a piece of cake or cupcake at the end of dinner. We were there for over 2 1/2 hours and we had to ask for our checks. She did not ask us if we needed desert. When she knew we were upset she sent another staff member out to speak with us and this lady made tons of excuses as to why the service was not good. She said it was her birthday too and wanted our sympathy. I told her that I asked for a cupcake or similar and she shouted, "We don't serve cupcakes"! I said anything would have been better than what we were offered which was nothing. Then she proceed to say we automatically put on a 20% gratuity and that really set me off. Her timing was already bad. She became hostile and aggressive which really ruined our experience there. I told her we were local Mainers and I hope you don't treat vacationers like that. I will never go back. The food was good but that's about all. I feel bad that my daughter and grandchildren had to experience the madness that came out of it. read more

Love the burgers at Rustlers also the salads are great! Sitting in the bar area has a great atmosphere and good service! read more

Food was ok-- steaks tasty, but a bit overpriced. Salads ok. Drinks ok. Service could be better-- had to ask our waitress twice for silverware, but no big deal. Overall, if you didn't feel like cooking, it was alright. Could have done better at home, but it was what it was. I'll go back, but not anytime soon. I usually go eat out in Portland, but figured I would give this a try. read more

They don't even answer the phone. That's poor management. Business is that good? Walked across the street to they're old place Trail N Ales. 10 minute wait. Won't bother with Rustlers again. read more

I have been eating at Rustler's Steak House for years. Never a disappointment. The food & service is phenomenal.

Sat at the bar for 30 minutes my boyfriend finished his beer and still we were not asked if we would like to order... raspberry margarita is absolutely awful. Took two sips never asked what was wrong or If I liked it. read more

Good food and drinks. Chili and French onion are delicious, solid wings and poutine and burgers most things I have tried

Rustler's formerly was Charlie Biegg's, which was a fairly decent restaurant. Now under a new name and managed by different people Windham has a venue that has many similarities to Biegg's. However, there is a caveat about dining in Windham asserted by someone like me who had lived in the town for many years. Windham's restaurants are all unremarkable, bland, sterile and devoid of any risk in terms of aesthetic and menu, which is why I almost always go to Portland for dinner. Rustler's does just fine catering to its demographic, which is a known commodity. Their menu is American and average. Their food is decent yet just not my cup of tea. Windham needs an extraordinary restaurant; it's not Rustler's and sadly, in my mind, remains a mythical venue that may never exist. read more

The bar service is great!! Their lunch menu is great they have $10 meals during the week! The portions are huge you won't leave hungry! I enjoy their specials too, they make "fried balls" which change weekly and have various stuffings!! The wings are very good too, buffalo or garlic parm, get them extra crispy, yum!! read more

We recently just bought a house in Raymond and I have to say, this place is so UNDERRATED! Let me startt by saying they are by far the BEST frenchfries I have ever had In my life (and I'm old)! The apps and drinks were amazing and the burger was cooked perfectly! Isabelle, our waitress was amazing, she was funny attentive and did not stop!! We all got something different, my boys are VERY picky, 1 got shrimp (my family owns a seafood restaurant) and the other only orders chicken fingers everywhere he goes and there had to be at least a chicken and a half- they ate all of it! My husband's open faced prime rib sandwich was gone in 7 minutes flat and rivaled his favorite place. Can't wait to come back! read more

Great food, awesome service from Celeste and nice atmosphere.

I have been here many times. The food is always very consistent and the steak is always cooked perfect. It does get very busy so be prepared for a wait especially on Friday and Saturday. read more

Great steaks and chocolate martinis! First time at Sebago and this restaurant was one of the favorites of the trip!

Extremely rude customer service. I called and asked for information on a gathering. I was rudely told that I would have to speak to the owner. I was all but hung up on. I called, as directed, the next day and the owner. Hailey was every bit as rude. Unbelievable! I would hope that instead of stating "that information is on the website" would not be pointed out like I was an idiot and hadn't looked and also assuming I didn't have questions above and beyond. Would definitely not do business when the owner themself lacks any form of customer service read more

We visit this steak house frequently. Usually we have good meals and pretty good service. I'm 2-starring it because this time and the last time we've had overdone burger, forgotten soup, fatty steak and terrible service. We usually give 3 tries after bad service because everyone has bad days. These last two visits were the same person and the same crappy service. Waited 8 minutes for drinks after waiting 5 minutes before she came to the table. There was literally 2 tables occupied when we were seated. After bringing the wrong drink to the table she took our order and disappeared. The OTHER waitress brought out our appetizer and the hostess helped get the correct drink. I'm not sure what she was doing but it obviously wasn't her job. If she's the head waitress, she should be demoted. read more

The service was 5 star. We sat at the bar (wanted to watch the Pats game). The food? BLAH! The entree that is, my steak tips were grisly and just not tasty (the garlic mushroom sauce was). My sister's NY strip steak was good. Maybe she'll leave a better review? Garlic Parm chicken wings for the app, very good. BIG. Beer was fresh and tasty. But I came here for STEAK. Parking can get tight. read more

Rustler's is a solid steakhouse in the Windham area. When they first opened they carried some really unique meats like bison, and elk maybe. Those offerings have not continued to date. But the menu items they carry they do very well. They have 12 beers on tap. 2-4 I would consider micro-brews. I would encourage Rustler's to bring back unique offerings and challenge them to get more local or "craft" with their tap list. Rustler's deserves a ton of credit for the special dinners and events they try to draw us in. They also offer space for private events. The wagon wheel sampler will not disappoint. Burgers to steaks you'll be pleased! I really like their sweet potato fries. Thursday's seem to be BBQ plate, I have plan for that. read more

First time visiting, unfortunately service was slow, orders were incorrect (4 out of 9 people) and food was burned or over cooked (3 out of 9). Our server wasn't the problem, but several parties arrived and left before we did, as well as one or two who arrived and left before we even got our meals. This was a weeknight durning dinner service. read more

Over the last year the quality has been declining. I came in for lunch today and ordered a basic cheeseburger. The patty was the same quality as a bubba burger you can buy at wal-mart grocery. My wife's steak was thin, tough and fatty. Baked Potato was small, dry and lacked any luster. When Rustlers first opened it was a good value for the money. My last 3-times here has proven otherwise. read more

There aren't a lot of quality restaurants in the Windham area, so after being turned away from a fully reserved Franco's Bistro, my family decided to try our luck at Rustlers Steakhouse, despite the disheartening reviews. The service at Rustlers in excellent. The waitress was polite and friendly, and tended to all our needs. The restaurant has a quaint rustic feel to it, and the menu is exactly what you would expect at a steakhouse. My party started out with Nachos for the appetizer. The Nachos were average at best. The chips were soggy and the cheese tasted very processed. The chicken was mediocre, and there wasn't enough on the dish itself. For my entree, I ordered the NY Strip Steak, rare. The steak was cooked very well, however could have used some more seasoning. The real let down on my dish was the fact that half of the steak was inedible due to it being bound together by tough gristle that was very hard to cut through. To make this issue even worse, the plate which my steak was served on was so small it became difficult to cut my steak. The mashed potatoes that came with my steak tasted instant mashed potatoes you could buy at the super market, and my vegetables were undercooked and tasted frozen. Although Rustlers features good service, the food is average. For 24 dollars, I would not pay for the NY Strip Steak. You are probably better off driving to Portland to get a nice meal if you have the time, or try Francos Bistro. read more

I've read some of the poor reviews of Rustlers.....this is not one of them. Preface, I went for lunch, and I didn't eat any meat items. The parking lot is expansive, no issues parking. The decor isn't modern, but it was clean and met anyone's standards for a business lunch. The service was excellent, very attentive. I ordered an appetizer for the group....Parmesan garlic wings....these were very good....crispy, good garlic aroma, and enough cheese to make it flavorful, without being bulky texturally. I thought these were some of the best I've had....reminding me of Roule's Roadside in Portland in the 90's. I had the blackened scallop Caesar ....again, very good. Seven mid sized scallops, nicely blacked end with good crust and moist texture. A solid salad. I had a martini...perfectly poured and created.....for a mid tier food spot....I have nothing to complain about. We had good lunch food, good service, easy access, I'm giving it a solid 3 1/2 stars....that said, I'll try the beef next sitting. read more

Is there suddenly a shortage of shrimp and clams in the state of Maine? I stared at the Rustler's menu for a good 20 minutes and couldn't find a single dish served on Saturday night that included either of these items. I understand Rustlers is technically a steakhouse, but c'mon folks, we're in Maine. I'm a die-hard seafood person while my husband is a steak and burger guy. Most steakhouses we've been to offer at least one shrimp or clam dish or a surf and turf option that uses one of those ingredients. Honestly, the complete lack of those items on the menu make it pretty unlikely that my husband and I will return to this place, even though the food we did order was decent. I thought the service was good. We were seated immediately. The food came out quickly and my toddler's chicken fingers were good. I actually love the batter they use on the chicken fingers. It reminded me of being a kid and eating at the old school seafood places down in Old Orchard. Yum! My husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger and said it's the best one he's ever had at a restaurant.I got the seafood (ie scallop and fish) chowder and honestly was not a fan. It tasted like a bottle of white wine had been dumped in it and It was way too boozy... completely lacking that buttery richness one looks for in a chowder. I think the wine could work in a seafood chowder, just in a much smaller volume :) The bread they put on the table was awesome and possibly even homemade??? I also love that they use Cabot butter with the rolls. Yum!!! read more

Been a half dozen times, it's consistently good and the barmaids are very nice and always smiling. Nice folks, NOT a tourist spot. Food is quite good and seafood chowder is very nice. (Although I overheard a couple of beer salespeople from Boston dissing us Mainers as well as the owners of Punkin Valley in Bridgton. BAD form. They were young snowflakes sans class. I'd fire the Harpoon beer reps myself. Ya Bub, I heard ya trying to impress the girls you chump.) read more

We were greeted by what appeared to be a 15 year old by dressed so casually I wasn't sure he even worked there, in fact all the waitstaff has ripped jeans. We were led to a table in the back corner by the waitress station where we were able to listen in on them gossiping and eating the entire meal. There shouldn't even be a table back there. It was very uncomfortable because the employees were like three feet away from my back. I guess you have to be morbidly obese to get a decent table. I had the bacon cheeseburger... I think they had a cutesy name for it but I forget. It was alright. 1/2 lb of meat was more than my bun could handle and I ended up eating the last half with a fork. The fries, however, were fantastic! My partner in crime got the French dip- I was told it was a bit too smoky in flavor... why would it be smokey? Beats me. Service was prompt and impersonal and that works for me. I would come again as long as I could sit somewhere else. read more

So...our waitress was great and very attentive. Stay away from the baked stuffed scallops as best you can. I have had microwave dinners better than this. They were not baked stuffed. It was like scallops with cheese whiz on them. read more

Food was great, excellent fries! Very quick service.. Good drink specials, friendly staff.

My baked potato was cold. Got a new one, it was hot, but it was OLD. Must have been sitting around for hours. The salad dressing was terrible. They should ASK people if they want the salad, as I am sure much of what they put out was wasted. My friend ordered riblets, they looked burnt, and didn't even resemble riblets. My other friend was sick after she ate her sandwich. Not impressed read more
