Despite living in Windham for quite a few years now, my wife and I have not visited as many spots on this side of the town. Due to our location we typically chose Westbrook or Portland. I will also say knowing this is a sports bar like spot I didn't have the highest expectations to begin with. Which I appreciate when a spot surprises me and blows those expectations out of the water. That did not occur here! It was our second choice for dinner tonight due to our first spot having a wait. So firstly for a positive I will say Deck House does have ample parking and lots of space for people to eat so that's a plus. Also if you are looking for a classic sports bar vibes with many tvs on the walls and plenty of bar seats this may be your spot to catch a game with friends. Overall for our experience service was slow, they were friendly it just took a long time for food and other tables received their food much faster after shorter waits. My wife got the Braised Beef Short Rib and it was cooked well and was extremely tender, she enjoyed it very much. I got the Lobster Mac which was good but much smaller than I expected and some lobster pieces were tough due to their large size. Our meals and then two margaritas which were decent were almost $100. We did get some of the more expensive meals off the menu but I do believe for the price we could get better food elsewhere. I'm glad we tried it but nothing would be worth revisiting for. We've driven a bazillion times by Deck House Tavern, and every time we say, "Look at that spot! The view must be amazing. Let's go one day!" Well, we finally made it happen, and we loved it! I seriously can't wait to go back. Located in Windham and next to a go-kart + mini-golfing spot, odds are you've also driven by this restaurant. The views from the deck are spectacular, and I can't wait to go back during the fall foliage season. The indoor space is also lovely -- it feels like a giant cabin! We loved the vibe: it's cozy, lowkey, and casual, which is precisely what we were looking for. The service was excellent from the minute we walked inside. The hostess was accommodating when we asked to sit at a different table (better views!), and our waitress was kind and constantly checking on us. The menu was more extensive than we expected. They have it all -- an impressive starters section, plenty of pub/tavern food, and even dinner plates. They also had a full cocktail menu (all reasonably priced), plenty of local beers, and wines. We had the strawberry margarita with jalapeño-infused tequila ($10), and it was delicious (albeit a bit small for a marg, but it was also only ten bucks). Our burgers ($18) were great, but unfortunately, a bit overcooked. The fries were just okay, nothing to write home about, and portion-wise, smaller than what we expected. Only came here because friend want to meet in the middle. Huge place, right next to tubing place. Its quite empty when I went there on Thursday night. The good part is you can hang out and chit chat with friends without being rushed. The thing that's odd : they charged $0.50 (fifty cents) for 2 beer taste because I'm not familiar with the beer. I've been to over hundreds of brewery, bar, tavern, sport bars and never ever been charged when I asked for a taste especially for 50 cents I think the highlight is the French fries appetizer with mayo sauce which is good, better to order extra sauce because friend won't share the sauce with me My steak sandwich with poutine is very mediocre. I don't know what is the thing they served me but it is definitely not poutine. Basically just French fries with sad little tiny gravy and bits of cheese. Asked for medium rare steak but obviously it came super well done, I understand it's just shaved beef and not possible to get it medium rare. But it just fine and nothing special about it. The young teenage kid who served us was nice but obviously not a server-server. 5 star service - Our server Melanie was awesome. 4 star food - Really good food 3 star setting - Difficult and confusing parking. I understand this is a family setting, but just beware it's a family "park-type" setting. There's a large water/pool structure right outside the dining room. No doubt super fun for families with kids. We ordered the chips and salsa for $7, which we weren't crazy about having to pay for, and the salsa was too hot for me. Admittedly, I don't handle really hot (spicy) foods well, so it was a disappointment for me not to be able to enjoy the chips/salsa. The fish tacos were delicious. I would definitely order those again if we were to come back. The BBQ pork tacos were also delicious. We ended up taking an entire BBQ pork taco home. It's fun to have a "lodge" at the mini-golf and tubing spot! Inside is really nice with great views. The staff is great and so are the drinks. One of my favorite destinations when traveling by snowmobile. Large open space with high ceilings, big windows overlooking the snow tube park, comfy couches, and friendly wait staff makes for a nice break from the trails. Great bear selections, craft cocktails and typical pub food, including poutine made with Pineland Farms cheese curds. Stopped in for a snack and a drink as our kids enjoyed some tubing. We got there just after their lunch rush and waited a while for them to clear off some tables. They had a good beer selection, though they were out of a few of the beers we wanted to try. The waitress was helpful in selecting other choices. They also had a very impressive list of specialty drinks, though we didn't try any of those. It had a typical sports bar atmosphere and the space was nice and bright. We also really loved their beer glasses with a map of Sebago Lake. The only food we tried was the poutine. It was OK. The challenge is that their french fries are seasoned. Seasoned fries make an already salty dish even saltier. The curd cheese was a definite plus. All in all, we would definitely go back, especially given that they have built-in activities for the kids to do. A nice outing for our family on a Sunday afternoon. read more

I had the chicken tenders had 5 rather large ones and they were GREAT! The building is very nice and appears to be recently renovated. The bar is on the second floor so keep that in mind if anyone in your party is handicapped. The initial impression when you walk into the bar/restaurant is impressive. There are several large TV's and a nice oval shaped bar with granite top. There is lots of wood and natural light inside. I also observed that the building is very clean. I sat at the bar and found the service to be prompt and friendly. I ordered the 3B burger because I couldn't resist the description. Also, I ordered the salt and vinegar dusted fries, after having read the other reviews which were positive. The food was delivered in a reasonable turn around time and I found it to be very good. Cooked the way I ordered it. The burger bun was fresh, the meat was cooked as ordered and had excellent flavor. The fries were typical in my opinion, and I wouldn't rave about them, but they weren't bad. Everything was presented well on an aluminum platter which gave a nice modern appearance. Overall I would say this place fills a void that Windham has been lacking, which is a nice sports bar / restaurant with a modern flair. It is definitely my recommendation that you give it a shot. I will make the following disclaimer however: it was not very busy at the time of my visit (10 customers including myself) some of the other reviews have complained about the service, so I can not say wether the service would be good during a more busy time. Pleasantly surprised by this bar for their prices, food & atmosphere. If you don't know where this is, it's funny when you get there because it's a bar at a kids/adult fun center where they have go-karts, mini-golf, climbing walls, etc. The actual bar portion of the spot though is huge. I was very surprised walking up into it what the bar would be/look like inside. It's a sports bar that has plenty of seating and they have quite a bit of TV's all around to watch the numerous college football and NFL games on Saturday/Sunday. We had to wait a little bit to get a seat as the place was packed when we went, but we also didn't want to sit by the live music because it was a little loud. Our waiter was really great and attentive, he brought us our drinks and food very fast and checked in on us a few times to make sure that everything was alright with our dinner. We had the fried pickles to start with, which were fried pickle spears and the breading was delicious. It was a little bit more of a panko breading than traditional breading, and the spears were different than the typical "chip" style of fried pickles.....but it all worked well. I order the 3-B burger and it was cooked perfectly for my liking and it was very flavorful. The fries were a little disappointing, but the entirety of the meal was great. Also, the price of this spot was hard to beat. They had great deals going on for beer and mixed drinks and it seems like there's always a type of happy hour going on. The food was moderately priced and I think there would be something on the menu for everyone. It is more pub food than anything, so it won't blow you away, but it says it right in the name "sports tavern" so you know what you're stumbling into for a meal. read more

First off, Good location easy enough to get in and out off depending on which you are going. It does get a bit busy at times along with people parking to go to the seacoast fun park, So finding a space close might be a pain. Large inside seating and space which is great. They have a couch and bench which is different and makes for a few fun options while being out to eat. The Aesthetics inside I like. There are sometimes outside games going on outside which is a lot of fun. I saw a corn hole game along with a tic tac throw once. Not sure if covid he stopped that. The staff in my option a coin flip, to be honest, I have had done bad ones along with average ones, Truly nothing to brag about. The drinks I had were not blended well at all. Stick to draft to be safe. The food is basically nothing that makes you crave coming back. It would not be as disappointing if the price matched the quality. They charge more than the food is worth in my option, Along with the drinks. The views can be nice as it is in a good location. It's truly not on my big tome suggestion list to Rush over to, If you want a relaxing drink or a decent conversation place to take a friend or a casual date. It's a fine spot. After waiting for a table that had been open since we walked in and a bartender that ignored us and was rude, once we sat down and ordered food the appetizer came out fast, the poutine tasted absolutely amazing, and shortly after that dinner was served and tasted great as well. Would definitely recommend the poutine and the rancher burger, but have to say that the chicken tenders were very small but tasted very good. Instead of removing bill they charged me for half of something I took one bite from. My husband and I stopped by to play a round of mini golf. We didn't realize that the Deck House existed. When we saw the sign we decided to check it out. What a lovely spot. We went in and sat at the bar. I had a beer my husband had a margarita with strawberry habanero, at first I thought he was nuts but that was one of the best drinks I have tasted in a very long time. It was fantastic, tart, sweet, and spicy all at once. We were not hungry enough to order dinner/lunch, we ordered onion rings which were really good. They are a warm, welcoming spot. You can sit indoors or out. It is a great spot to hang out for drinks with friends or with your family and little kids. I am really looking forward to going back. We waited over 30 minutes to be seated even though there were a number of open tables. While waiting I went to the bar to order a beer. Stood there for over 20 minutes with money in hand - not one person behind the bar even made eye contact with me. Once seated, our waitress arrived promptly, took our order, and returned fairly quickly with our drinks. Then proceeded to wait over 30 minutes for our food (sandwiches) to arrive. When it did only 2 out of three of us received our meals. The third arrived about 10 minutes later - the waitress claimed they had "run out of fries". Facility and atmosphere are decent and the staff seemed hard-working but service sucks and food is meh and overpriced. Never did we see a manager-type which might explain why this place is so poorly managed. Save your time and money! read more

Brittany the waitress was excellent but management was more concerned with closing the place than actually serving customers. 7 people (2 different parties) came in around 9 and Management made them both feel uncomfortable with "kitchen is closing in a few minutes". We ate here during our afternoon enjoying the park. We came into the restaurant around 1:30pm and it was surprisingly busy. There were not enough servers on staff, the 2 girls who were working were doing their best but it was an impossible situation. It took us a while to get anything including waiting 15 minutes just to get menus. I don't blame the servers, they were doing the best they could. The food was just ok. I might not be as critical if the price was more reasonable but it is kind of high for the quality of food. The beer selection was decent but for a "sports tavern" I kind of expected more. The interior is really nice, the patio area was nice and the games out front helped the restless kids play while they waited. Some of these reviews are a litttle too critical considering this is a sports bar in the middle of Maine... not Gordon Ramsey's top restaurant in NYC. But I digress.. I've been here a few times now when having friends up to our camp on Frye Island. The food and drinks are CHEAP! I think my boyfriend and I got 4 or 5 beers + split the chili and a salad (many of us got the chili and we all liked it) and it was like $30! We've always sat at the bar and I found the service to be attentive and quick! The upstairs is honestly very nice, I wasn't expecting it to be as nice as it was. Huge glass windows all around letting plenty of light in, large dining area and big bar with plenty of options. The outside area is awesome and we've done pretty much everything they have to offer "adventure wise." The last time we came here tho it was a group of about 9 and it was wicked hot out, I finally ditched the mini golf game and headed into the bar. Keep the weather in mind if you wanna be outdoors here, when it's really really hot it's just not as enjoyable. If you like bar food and a sports bar- this will be a hidden gem in Windham with a great way to entertain friends especially when you've hit your max on beach days... if you're expecting top of the hub service and cuisine on a sports bar budget- you may wanna stay home. We had such a wonderful lunch here! We had a party of 8; 4 adults, 4 kids, and Jamie (server) could not have been more patient! Their Brussels sprout appetizer is incredible! Now I'm going to have to try and replicate them, and not forget the maple syrup! Dropped in on a recent Sunday night for a burger and beer. Decided on a Funky Bow IPA after a taste. Received the bill, and was charged $9 for the draft beer! I suggested to the manager that, in the interest of transparency, the beer prices should have been posted, particularly in light of the high cost in this case. The manager really didn't acknowledge my concern, but rather kept coming back to their cost. I have never paid that much for a draft beer........outside of Fenway Park. To add insult to injury, I was charged $.25 for the tasting! Tacky. No more visits to the DeckHouse. read more
