Looking at the previous reviews of Queen's Head Pub, I was slightly shocked to see so many low reviews, as the reviews do not reflect the experience that I had when going to the establishment. The establishment is located in a newer building in Bridgeton. It is evidently clear that there was a lot of thought that went into designing and decorating the venue. The focal point of the establishment is the large rectangular bar that seats a decent amount of people. For those who enjoy bar seating, this is a great place to check out, however, they still have table top options and a lounge area with couches, so there is something for everyone. Queen's Head Pub has an extensive beer list with local taps from Portland to southern Maine. They also have a seasonal cocktail list and wine offerings, but it's clear that beer is the focus. As far as the food menu, specifically their lunch menu, there are a lot of sandwich offerings with some salads and appetizers to choose from. Sandwiches come with chips or you can get fries for an up-charge. I opted for the greek wrap with house-made falafel. The wrap was filled with falafel and other add-ins, which I appreciated. Price point and quality of food certainly matched. Lastly, our service from the bartender was fantastic. The servers had been talking about a beer that people were raving about and as my partner and I listened in, the bartender offered us a tasting of it, which added a nice personal touch. Throughout our experience, the bartender was attentive, personable, and great. I'm excited to have a spot that we can frequent as ski season picks up! We tried this place twice in the last two weeks while our kids were performing at the Deertrees Theater. First visit was nice as we sat out on the side patio overlooking the small brook that flows past. We just had a couple apps and drinks and our server was very nice. Last night we went back for dinner and sat at the roof top bar/patio area. It wasn't busy so the one server was handling us and another table nearby that were friends of ours. The outdoor seating and deck games here for the kids were the highlight. The server was nice as well. What brought our review down were a couple things. On the roof top bar they serve the otherwise nice craft cocktails in small plastic cups instead of glasses. It's hard to pay $16 for a nice drink out of a 6 ounce plastic cup. The bigger issue was I ordered the Cobb Salad and was only told after it was delivered that they were out of avocado (a main ingredient in a Cobb Salad?). The waitress apologized for not telling me in advance, which was a little weird as it meant she knew when I ordered they were out. She did take 20% off the cost of the $20 salad but if she had told me in advance I would have ordered something else. Also you can add chicken to the salad which I did and asked for "buffalo" chicken expecting some fried tenders in buffalo sauce. The plate came with a few very small strips of grilled chicken breast drizzled in buffalo sauce. Grilled chicken with buffalo sauce? That just seems weird to me. Anyways nice atmosphere, some nice staff, $200 before tip for four people? There's a lot of competition in that area so we will probably go back for a patio beer sometime and maybe an appetizer but not a full dinner at that price. read more

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Bridgton and honestly gives Portland a run for its money. From the custom signature drinks to the beautiful event signage and all the little thoughtful touches, everything left a lasting impression. Lindsey was incredibly responsive, helpful with all my questions, and made every guest feel welcome--she was so amazing that she's now got an open invite to our family Thanksgiving! We decided to have some lunch here today with a friend. The interior is dark so we opted to eat on the porch which is by the river and quite lovely. The only con is the road traffic. Our waitress was both attentive and friendly. We shared artichoke spinach dip, delicious and plenty of chips, and each enjoyed a bowl of chowdah. Terrific addition to the expanding Bridgton food scene! Had a great lunch with the family -- burgers (double smash cheeseburgers) were really good- my late teen kids loved them - super juicy!; my fish and chips were excellent; and my wife's kale Caesar with falafel was very good too. Service was warm and attentive - really impressed. Modern, roomy and comfortable, the space has a great design - and the bar area is very cool (and big). We traveled from Sanford to Ski Sunday River the night before Thanksgiving through the seasons first crazy storm and spotted QHP on our way back! They WERE OPEN, Greeted us with excitement and it was exceptional! We were the first ones in that day ( the skiing was tough) and we tasted a beer the staff was talking about - tasted like stuffing, it was wild! The food was clean, large and cooked well! We had Greek wraps with Falafel and Chicken, i x-nayed the olives and was asked if i wanted extra feta "to beef it up", which was awesome. The draft and cocktail list was fresh and fun. Was greeted by an angry waitress while approaching the back door entrance off the porch, proceeded by can't make a simple black Russian upstairs in the so called tiki bar. I'm pretty sure they don't know the meaning of tiki. Heading now to the downstairs bar for my drink, my friend had her beer in hand from upstairs. Sitting at the downstairs bar now, offered menus but told the pretty bartender we're just in for a drink and she said ok and walked away without my order. hahaa. only three other customers at that bar but she didn't come back for about 10 mins to take my order even though she was behind the bar all the while. We came to this establishment approximately 4 months after they opened and the service was lousy but we thought we would try it again. Our thinking was they would have it figured out by now. Unfortunately it was worse. We sat at the bar and were ignored for over 20 minutes by the same easily overwhelmed and always angry bartender from our last visit. We are not sure what protocol we violated because no one spoke with us or made eye contact. Ignoring us must have been our punishment. So we got up to leave. A woman from across the bar said "I dont blame you!" . She obviously was dealing with the same thing. Why have such an unhappy person front and center of your establishment? If the bartender was "overwhelmed" by a 3/4's full bar I suggest adding another bartender. Or perhaps just schedule a competent, happy, bartender that likes people. read more

After a very disappointing experience with the opening over a year ago we thought it only appropriate to Give it another try. The waitress was overworked and service was slow and disappointing. They ran out of items on the menu and food was cold when served. The amount of food for what we paid was disappointing at best. My husband and I went with two other couples, and it was our first visit. The waitress was friendly and attentive, but not well-versed on the menu, she was not able to explain what a hangar steak was and then put incorrect charges on two out of the three checks. When we first arrived at 5 o'clock, it was relatively quiet, but an hour later I had to keep leaning into my friend sitting right beside me because it was so unbearably loud, making conversation very difficult. That is something I am sensitive to, so I thought maybe it was just me, but several others mentioned it as well. My wife wanted to go to dinner and ask our son and I to meet her at QH Pub. We show up and she is at the bar with menus and a beer she had ordered waiting for the appetizer that she had ordered. We sat down, no one acknowledge us. The appetizer was delivered. No one asked if we wanted a drink. We were ignored for quite some time as 5 servers and bar tenders were moving all around us. We decided to leave and go somewhere else. I spoke to one of the servers/managers and stated that we were intending to eat dinner but no one paid any attention to us and were now leaving do to the poor customer service. They shouldn't be in the food business. If you're going to put a falafel on the menu, at least bother to understand the food you're serving. They obviously don't. The falafel was dry and tasteless and came with no sauce, which, if they bothered to, they would understand is a no no. My friend's burger was ok, although all he ever eats are burgers and fries anyway. My drink, although I specified specifically how I would prefer it, was disappointing and weak. Food was delicious, unique menu for a small town location. We had Brussels sprouts, Scottish egg, Caesar, burger and shepherds pie. All were awesome. If you order the smash burger, definitely double the burger as it's pretty thin. Service wasn't the best. Had to wait for someone to seat us for 10 min as the waitresses we spoke to just kept walking by while we waited. Went to try as new and looked like a nice place. For some reason the hostess stand is in the back. Great space and nice ambiance. Bar is beautiful. Tried the John Daly cocktail, wasn't great, tasted bland. Needed more tea or lemonade, probably both. Had to add a squeeze of lemon to make it better. Limited menu. Food just ok for our whole party. Asked for med rare on the burger and they warned us it'd be on rare side, we said fine. When it came out, it was more like well done. They're new, so maybe working out the kinks? This is a new restaurant to Bridgton Maine. We had dinner here for the first time . It's a one and done. The beer menu is great if you are all about IPA's. Dinner selection is limited. If you order the Haddock sandwich or Fish and Chips take your own bottle of tartar sauces. They skimp on the sauce and when I asked for an additional tartar sauce for my dry Haddock sandwich I was charged an additional $1.00 for a tiny paper cup. One and done. read more
