A friend of mine and myself had lunch at the Fairgrounds the other day. We were seated promptly and our server came over quickly. We both ordered the Reuben sandwich with fries and I ordered a fountain drink. The food came in a timely manner. Our waitress was very nice. I had been at the restaurant once before and had the Reuben. I thought it was very dry so this time I asked the waitress if I could have a little side of Russian dressing with my meal. When my meal arrived the waitress told me she didn't bring the side but the cook had put extra dressing on the sandwich. The sandwich again was very dry and there was no semblance of extra dressing. Disappointing. Anyway, after finishing our meal, we got the bill. I was astonished to see that a 10 ounce fountain drink was 4 dollars. My fault for not checking the menu. I was also charged $1.00 for extra Russian dressing. Unbelievable. I'm happy I didn't order a refill for my soda because I fear it would be another 4 bucks. I'm giving the place 3 stars. The food was just OK, the waitress was nice but the overcharging for soda and dressing was ridiculous. With a good tip, my bill was $36.00. $36 dollars for a sandwich, fries and a soda. Outrageous. We went to this restaurant because we saw it on Facebook. Home of the 100 ounce Michelob Ultra tower. It was $28 and you use it like a lemonade container with the spout. There is a beautiful outside eating area. The inside is even more awesome! Plenty of tv's and plenty of draft beer, drinks, and canned beer. We sat at the bar of course. Giant bar that is a complete large square. Bartenders were awesome! We decided to try the combination appetizer plate. My favorite were the mozzarella sticks. They're extra long. Then we decided on their specialty crab Rangoon pizza. Omg! It was so delicious. It had a sweet pepper sauce on top. It was so good we went back again! If you're ever in Maine, this is a must try! Everything about this place is perfect, down to the way they cut their limes. Excellent service, owners and staff are very kind and professional and understanding, everyone here has a good personality for the jobs they do and work well together. The food is always consistent. And while you enjoy your food, the interior design of both the bar and restaraunt are unique to its style and very thought out. Surprised the rating is shy of a 4. We recently moved to the area and a few local people at the bank told me to try this place. The food is great. We have visited a few times now. We start with a few appetizers both the wings and the potato skins were great. We have had the pizzas, the burgers, both smash and regular and love them both. The turkey club is extra special. They have nice steak fries and you can also select waffle fries or sweet potato fries. The roast beef and steak and cheese sandwiches were also a hit with us. The salads looked huge from afar. We have always sat at the bar and were pleased to meet Tonya, she's a great bartender and even remembered our names which was surprising considering how many people she must meet. It's a great establishment with very friendly employees. A pleasant surprise indeed. We always go home with leftovers and the cocktails have been good. My friend drinks beer (they have quite a selection of both draft and bottles). To date, I have been drinking the raspberry Marguerita's which I have enjoyed. The pizzas are novelty, and a whole pizza of just crab Rangoon flavor was a bit much but it was super delicious and hit the flavors perfect. Excellent choice during my trip to Maine. It is very well located on the highway. Place gets packed on the weekends, so be ready to sit and wait a little. Nevertheless, the wait was worth it. Service was excellent and courteous. Armella was phenomenal on both attitude and attentiveness. Her continuous attentiveness was superb. Menu seems to encompass a Greek feeling, yet it was plentiful in any category. Portion sizes were extremely generous and with great taste. Food had the right temperature. The taste was perfect for the shrimp basket. Drinks were on point, and definitely, I recommend the Rum Bucket. There is jo thought that flavor and love were made for this one drink. The ambiance was very homely and gave you a sense of belongness. On a minor negative note, the only drawback that did not allow for a 5-star rating was the bathroom. The bathroom, due to the heavy traffic, does need some maintenance as well as some odor absorbing material. Nonetheless, I still highly recommend such a place for you to visit while in the Cornish area in Maine. You definitely won't be disappointed. read more

One of the better pizza pubs I've been to & they offer much more than just pizza! They seem to have some pretty interesting pizzas on the menu, so I'll have to give it a shot the next time around. I ordered the Reuben with fries and it was excellent & practically enough for two people if I wanted. My drink was great, the bartenders were friendly & prompt. My husband and I enjoy stopping at Fairgrounds when we're on the motorcycle. It's a great ride to the restaurant from where we live. We always have enjoyed their pizzas,salads, and sandwiches. Yesterday, we had two items from the specials (which changes regularly). My husband's roast beef sandwich is a far better take on Arby's beef and cheddar. The roast beef was juicy and the cheese sauce was the perfect consistency. I had the taco salad which was absolutely delicious.The tortilla sell was a soft tortilla that had been deep fried, and gave the salad a gentle crispness that went well with the seasoned beef, corn, avocado, lettuce, cheese, and salsa. The portions are huge- we couldn't finish! Their bar, service, and atmosphere is pleasant and friendly. We recommend coming here for lunch, dinner, or a pit stop! read more

Went there yesterday and boy it has changed. Menu has been cut in half. The seafood platter had frozen fish and half the size as it used to be. Place was empty except the bar, it used to be to be packed. The new owners need to copy the previous owners. Prices are extremely high. And you get half the food. It use to be my favorite restaurant. All I have to say is crazy size portions!! We have heard from several people that we must try this place! It did not disappoint! We had a bit of wait for be seated but they have a great area outside to sit and wait. The crab Rangoon pizza was a novel change and was pretty tasty, def had a Rangoon flavor. 4.5 stars The Calamari was very tasteless, the dipping marinara was as well tasteless and looked like tomato sauce... 1 star. My husband and I went Saturday at about 2pm. The parking lot was absolutely packed, but we quickly saw it was because of a 50 top birthday party. Despite this, we were sat right away. The waitress was quick, and we ordered our drink which was $15. It was enough for the two of us for sure. When she came back, we ordered bruschetta as an appetizer and Lord of the Rings pizza for our entree. The bruschetta came out first, which was good, but was on hotdog rolls. There didn't seem to be much seasoning but I still enjoyed it! The Lord of the Rings pizza came, which we ordered half without bacon as I don't really eat pork. I loved the honey mustard and chicken combo, as well as the fresh onion and tomato. We saw on a board that they had special desserts available, so we ordered the Blueberry Lemon cake, which was fantastic. The only complaint I had was that the left side, where I assume it was cut for a slice beforehand, was a bit stale. You could tell by touching it that it hadn't been made that day. But other than that, it was very good and the flavor was definitely there. Overall 4/5 star rating. The atmosphere was fun and lively, the service was quick and kind, and the food was super fun! This review is long overdue! I've been here a number of times in groups & I have yet to have a bad experience with food! The pizzas are just SO good - my favorite being the Crab Rangoon! The apps are also great & the pork rib lollipops are phenomenal. The last time I went I tried the scallops, and they tasted a bit undercooked in the centers but at least they weren't hockey-pucks & tasted fresh. I've never had a problem with the service, just the amount of waiting time it sometimes takes to get a table because it's ALWAYS SO PACKED! This place is popular, but rightfully so! The waitresses are always friendly, albeit sometimes overwhelmed, but it's good to see businesses thrive like this. This is a pretty location, and they did a good job with the interior, although the parking - due to always being slammed - leaves a bit to be admired, but I think that's a testament to all the things they do right. She raved about the pizzas, but neither of us had the stomach for that today so I ordered the nachos, which comes with the choice of chips or waffle fries. I asked for the waffle fries, which they were out of, so I got it on regular fries. No problem! She ordered the 4-cheese Mac n cheese. The service was super fast, and the portions were MASSIVE which is always nice since it isn't the cheapest food. Both dishes were lacking quite a bit in flavor, falling very flat. It tasted much like chain food from apple bees etc. But that being said, it was a nice vibe, the waitress was friendly, and the menu had so much to choose from. I love how Fairgrounds is always making new unique combinations weekly. I haven't got something I didn't like here so far. Everything is cooked well and has somewhat reasonable prices. Our waiter was very friendly with a smile and attentive. Inside is huge and constantly busy, but they always get food out on time and do their best. It was about an hour wait, but we went at the prime time and were prepared for it. It was worth every second of the wait. They give you a buzzer so you can sit in your car and chill. There were five of us and we were seated inside, they also have outside seating. Everything was Covid proper. Everyone was very pleased with their dishes, meatballs , tortellini Alfredo , bakes fish, fried fish and I got scallop/ clam combo. The only hiccup was there was supposed to be crumb topping on the baked fish. The waitress scooped it off to the kitchen and it was fixed lickity split . Your choice of sides is not your standard fries/onion rings / slaw, although you can get that. I had the best house side salad I have ever had. It had field greens, banana peppers, peppers, cucumber, grape tomatoes and croutons in a bowl, very nice and very fresh. I got garlic mashed red potatoes with my dish. They were excellent and plentiful . The clams were sweet crisp and amazingly flavorful . The scallops were the large sea scallops, full sized, not cut into slices or quartered like some places are doing. They were cooked perfectly and were sweet and crisp. After the internet blew up praising Fairgrounds "pickle pizza", I knew I had to try this place. It's about an hour from our home so It would be a while before we actually made it there ( plus, covid) but this weekend, we were passing thru Cornish ME on our way to do some hiking in the White Mtns of NH. We made a plan to call ahead and order take out on our way home. I was very excited to finally try their famous Pickle Puzza, as I absolutely love pickles and who doesnt love pizza!? They have an extensive menu with some very creative pizzas (crab rangoon, quesadilla, etc) as well as some big, beautiful burgers. So much to choose from! We placed our order for 2 small pies - the pickle pizza, crab rangoon pizza and a greek salad. They have a separate "take put window" to grab your to go orders as well as indoor and outdoor dining. I really liked the fact that they had an outdoor take-out window - you dont have to walk into the building (great idea, as covid cases surge in Maine right now). The outdoor dining tent had heaters inside and the few tables were spaced apart quite a bit. They were definitely compliant with regulations there. I did not see the inside dining. But, all employees I was were wearing masks. The gentleman who took my payment had gloves on as well. My order was given to me outside. Service was friendly and I was very pleased to see them working hard to stay compliant with safety protocols. The pizzas were piping hot! We ate a few slices in the car right away. The pickle pizza was good - very cheesy with a drizzle of ranch over the top and dotted with fried pickle slices. The pickles were more of a garlic pickle vs dill. The crab rangoon was ok - I was hoping for a bit more cream cheese crab deliciousness that IS crab rangoon. This pizza was quite thin and sparse, but ok. It is also drizzled with a sweet hot chili sauce, which was quite good. Just a little bit of heat. The small size was very big for a small, definitely enough for 2 people. The greek salad had its pros and cons. The veggies were very fresh, not a limp peice of lettuce in sight. It had 3 cucumbers, 3 tomato slices, 3 green peppers, lots of red onion and black olive slices. The amount of feta cheese was very generous (a plus in my book!), ample greek dressing on the side. While pretty basic, it was good but a bit pricey for what you get ($13). All in all, good service, decent pizza. The menu looks fantastic and I will definitely try it again next time we are in the area - but I wouldnt make the drive there just to order. read more

Nice spot. Always busy. Pizza especially is always phenomenal, and they have lots of specialty pies that are very creative. My favorite is the jalapeño popper. The only issue here is service is often slow/spotty. I had heard so much about this place and seen so many mouthwatering photos of their food that I purposely built in a trip to visit on our way home from a short trip to NH. I called in the order and when I went in to pick it up I was surprised when the waitress told me people usually grab their food from the takeout window. What? She was kind enough to "break the rule" when I apologized for not knowing such a thing existed. I'm glad I took the stroll inside because my got to set my eyes on the desserts. Holy Moly! I'm going to need to make a trip back just for them! The cheesecakes, chocolate covered cannolis and others in the case looked good enough to die for! I stopped myself from indulging, knowing I had plenty of food in the takeout boxes, BUT I will be back! Once we unpacked all of our orders in the car, we realized my two kids were missing the scoop of ice cream that was to accompany the kids meal. I sent my daughter in to collect the scoops and she was told they don't do that. I decided to go talk to them myself. I was told the menu had changed and that wasn't included anymore. I showed the waitress the online menu which did indeed state it was part of the meal (and the main reason my daughter decided to order off the kids menu). She asked a manager and they obliged to getting us the scoops. They did not however have any spoons to give. I thought that was odd. Was there nothing else on their menu that would require a plastic spoon in the take-out orders? Anyways, other than the ice cream debacle, the food was delightful.
