I've been here twice in the past month. I love it so much! All of the fried options are great. The "you choose 4" is so much food for 2 people to split. I love that they have beer flights and the options change - I like to just say "surprise me" and see what I get, never a bad option! Our first time we ate inside and service was quick and friendly. Second time we ate outside, service was still friendly but much slower. Will definitely be going back - we really love this place!

Bacon wrapped scallops

Visited Bob's Seafood for lunch on my recent trip to Maine. We opted to sit outside. Our waitress came to take our orders and it was pretty quick. I got to try the calamari, bacon wrapped scallops, and lobster roll. The calamari had a little too much breading for my liking, but was good otherwise. The bacon wrapped scallops came with a maple dipping sauce, but it was definitely better without it. The lobster roll was a Maine style, served cold and tossed with mayo. I prefer the Connecticut style lobster roll served hot with melted butter. But I was in Maine so i guess it checks out. Cheaper and better than the restaurants I visited in Portland proper.

Fried clams and scallops combo

I grew up in New England, to be specific in the Boston area. This was the best fried seafood I've ever had. Simple exceptional high quality ingredients, executed to perfection. Go here for the best seafood New England has to offer and, therefore as us New Englander's know, the world. Emma's a great server, you'll be lucky to get her.

Painkiller - A beverage in a clear glass contains a yellow-orange cocktail with ice cubes and a slice of orange garnishing the rim. The drink appears frothy on top, with a straw inserted. The glass is placed on a wooden table, and the background is slightly blurred, indicating an indoor setting.

Service was friendly and quick. It was busy when we arrived but was seated right away. Very good drinks and food. Get the crab stuffed mushrooms!

They were perfect.

Firstly, there are 2 main seating areas, Bobs Seafood Market side and Tap Room side. It's kind of confusing but they are all the same restaurant. During the good weather, they also seating outside through the Tap Room. The Market side seating is cozy and quieter, the Tap Room side is spacious and noisy as the bar is also in the main part of the restaurant. It may be quieter in the booths, but we were seated right next to the bar. Still, it was well worth it. We got the scallops wrapped in bacon for the appetizer. They were perfect and I mean PERFECT. The bacon was cooked through all the way around, and the scallops were cooked to just the right amount of done, not rubbery at all, they were succulent and yummy. Next time, I might just get these and a salad. The Hub got 10 huge fried shrimp with what tasted like homemade cocktail sauce and homemade crispy fries. He loved it all, including the slaw, which he said was fresh and crispy. I got the fried clams, small, sweet and crispy, yummy. The haddock was really fresh, and the coconut shrimp were delicious. I had to take those home for lunch the next day, though, and they were just as good cold. The salad was a simple side salad but was fresh and appealing. Our server Danica was amazing, very attentive, and ran around like the Ever-Ready bunny. Oh, to be young and have that much energy!!!

Seafood chowda - exquisite - A bowl of seafood chowder with a creamy, yellowish appearance is placed on a wooden table. Two packets of oyster crackers and a small plastic spoon are beside the bowl. A menu with live music listings and seafood options, including chowders and stews, is positioned upright behind the food. The setting appears to be a casual restaurant or seafood eatery with wooden chairs visible in the background.

I travel professionally extensively - coast to coast. I am on a consummate search for the best chowder to be found. For years my personal blue ribbon award was a place at Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia. I chanced upon this seafood restaurant/market and had to give it a try. The long held blue ribbon award has now shifted to Bob's seafood chowder! This Bob is so pleased that it coincidently shares my name!

Nothing bad to say. Fresh seafood nicely battered, not heavy. You can taste the seafood and not the batter!

Service is always friendly and seafood is great. Try the New England Reuben. I think that's the name.

I stopped in after searching for Hop Water and saw on the Hop Water website the Good Life Market sold it. I arrived about a half hour before close so I was one of few customers and ended up buying a ton and wanting more. First, I found a 4 pack of beer that had JUST been released in Burlington VT and then Portland ME (collaboration beer) and immediately grabbed it. Absolute score! I was super impressed with the beer selection, both refrigeratorated and on the shelf, plus N/A options, hop waters, mixers, you name it. Before I even made it to the beer section I was drawn to the prepared food because I was hungry and knew I would have to prepare something when I got home. I got smoked ribs (probably a half rack) for $11.99, Cole slaw and a broccoli bacon salad. They had multiple refrigerators and freezers with everything you can imagine, frozen Slab pizza, health drinks, locals meats, local ice cream, etc. I noticed a huge wall of local coffee so I will be going back to hopefully find espresso beans, which are challenging to come by. I didn't notice inside seats but that would be a good addition. For the ribs, I wrapped them in foil and baked at 350 for 20-30 minutes. I was so happy to find real food, prepped for easy reheating. I will definitely be back with my husband to order sandwiches and pick up more goodies.

Employees here are always friendly. Their food is always well-made and is of excellent quality. Prices are a bit on the high end hence the 4 stars. Pictured here is their Hometown Chef Salad and The Good Life Club. My stepson and I ended up sharing as the portions are huge. We even got 3 servings out of the salad. These two items are highly recommended. This market also has some fresh produce, several cheese options, interesting snacks and pantry items. Stop by and support local whenever you can!
