Vegetarian Marsala

The atmosphere is very warm and cozy. Small inside, but seating is nicely spaced out. Incredible service very kind informative and caring. Vegetarian Marsala came with mushrooms- flavoring and pasta were delicious. Lobster pasta also amazing. Highly recommend!

Delicious!!! The lobster roll was perfect. Mussels were a must especially with a side of focaccia bread. It's not on the menu, but I definitely recommend ending with an espresso martini or two (: Cesar salad is also a must try. Best place for dinner in bridgt

Pondicherry House was a 10/10. The food, drinks, and service were great! The steak special and chicken Marsala were clearly fresh and cooked perfect. Our waitress Stephanie was amazing - very good service, sense of humor, and very kind! We will be back for the food and Stephanie's service !

We were in our way through Bridgeton to catch a show at the Deertrees Theater in Harrison and Yelp suggested this place. It was just me, my 9 year old daughter, and my mom. My daughter and I walked in to look at the menu and right away she said she wanted to eat here. I'm so glad she did! The staff are 10/10! They were SO welcoming. We got a table at the front that allowed for a bit of outdoor people watching but more importantly my daughter was thrilled to watch the chefs in the open sous kitchen prep pasta dishes and shuck oysters just feet from our table. Cocktails from the bar were creative and delicious. Homemade pasta dishes were amazing. Oysters were so yum. I can't wait to bring the whole family back soon!

Excellent food, drinks and owners! They take great pride in the service they deliver and as friendly as you can get! I highly recommend!

I did not have a pleasant experience here, I would not recommend stopping by, the bartender was unwelcoming.

She gave us some great wine recommendations and checked in throughout the night without ever being overbearing. Cocktails were on point too -- Sue and Brad clearly have it dialed in. I had the seared ahi tuna, and it was honestly one of the best I've ever had. Our friends had the Tuscan chicken special over rice, the ribs, and the steak. Everything was excellent. Bridgton is lucky to have a place like Black Horse Tavern. They've been doing this for decades, and it shows -- great food, great drinks, great service, and people who know how to run a restaurant. We had a great night and will definitely be back.

When seated I had no problem that I wasn't seen until 5 minutes passed, or that I was not handed a drink menu until I asked for one. What I do have a problem with however is being treated differently to other patrons for no apparent reason. Visiting this town as a person of Latino descent has been a joy so far but at the Black Horse Tavern I finally understood why I was warned about coming to Bridgton. After the hostess sat us down, we waited about 5 minutes to see hour waitress, as she approached our table she immediately asked if we wanted drinks or appetizers, my boyfriend asked for a drink menu which seemed to bother her. After receiving the drink menu we waited another 5 minutes to then be met with another waitress because our original one passed us off to someone else who ended up taking our drink and entree orders. The original waitress did eventually return with our said beverages she slammed them down in front of my boyfriend and I. The only reason I know the waitress's name is Shannon is because I heard her greet another table and because it was on my receipt. We carried on and made the best of our situation as we enjoyed what we could of our dinner but even as she returned with the bill, she slammed it in front of my boyfriend yet again and continued having pleasant conversations with another group of people. As we left we didn't even get a "thanks for coming" or a "goodnight" as we left the restaurant.

The waiters were very nice and easy to talk to. The service was great. They had a lot of plants around and they had vines going up the middle table. The place looked very clean. The sushi stand in the front. We were greeted at the bar and given water and menus right away. Loved the prompt service, the ambiance, the art on the walls. Enough lighting for a restaurant/bar. The menu was interesting and had sushi, fish, a wagyu burger, some really fun drinks and more. We split some dumplings, a roll, and got individual meals. We got our dumplings rather quickly but then waited an hour for the rest of our food. It was really busy, and they had staff, but I feel like it would not ever normally be this busy. But they were so nice about it. And we were not in a rush, so it works out just fine. Our roll was off - and it turned out we got the wrong one. But they were apologetic and again it was really busy. But when the entre came out - wow. I got a Ongiri with Haddock and some crispy onions on top - it was fantastic. My husband had a bowl of ramen that he said needed a little salt. But it was good, service as fantastic, and I would definitely want to come back when they are not busy to try the food and service again. I am sure it will be great.

Once we sat down, the server mentioned the dining room was already closed. I asked why, and was told that most of the staff had children graduating that afternoon. Totally acceptable, and I was ready to get up and leave, as it was 3:25, and I don't like going somewhere who's about to close. The waitress again, told me not to rush, and that it was no big deal. We selected our drinks and meals and got them fairly quickly. My fiancee got a turkey wrap and I got a chicken sando (menu name). I am not lying or fabricating or embellishing here, when I say, this was THE BEST fried chicken sandwich I've ever had. The smokehouse sauce was phenomenal, absolutely delicious. My partner also enjoyed his wrap as well. The fries were hot, salty, and crispy. The chef or owner maybe came out to thank us for supporting them. Every single time we've been here, the food has blown us away. Whether it's winter with BBQ plates and brisket pot pie, or summer menu with sandwiches and lighter fair, 100% worth it. So dang good, we do a happy food dance. The place is always cute and atmosphere is always mountain side log cabin kitchen. Love it ! Every single time !!!
