Band

We've been to The Rustic Tap a few times now and can honestly say it is the best live music venue on West 6th. We always somehow end up here drawn in from the music they have from local cover bands that pours out onto the street. It's always busy and has a lot of life plus when it's hot they have shade, and when it's cold they have fire pits. The live music is played in the back next to a pit that usually has people dancing but also serves as a great place to watch sports when they seldomly don't have live music. This bar covers a lot of bases whether you're there for music, sports, or just to drink. Speaking of drinks, the waiters are friendly and they have a good amount of options. We've only ever gotten beer there so can't say much about whether or not they have a heavy hand when they pour. As always this place is on 6th so drink responsibly and Uber to and from (parking around there is a nightmare anyways). The Rustic Tap is one of the most fun bars in the area and is a great place to either start or end your night, either way you'll somehow end up there regardless.

This sports bar is on the more casual side. Also was my first time on West 6th and it was interesting to see the different demographics compared to Dirty 6th. This might also change from day to night, as not many POC watch college football. One of my new friends had already claimed a table near the main screen. They were showing the Alabama/Florida State game. They have an abundance of water coolers and fans everywhere at each angle. I thought this was great and definitely felt rejuvenated after leaving Victory Lap. The food was great too, hopefully some nice people nearby partook of our leftovers after we went to bar #3

GIANT onion rings. Quesadillas with shredded chicken or pork. Nachos and queso.

Pro-tip: Weekly HH (7 cocktails for $7), with loveusic starting around 8 PM. Average American spot, best for group gatherings, mingling and enjoying live music.

Sure 'Nuff

Rating: 3.5/5 [drinks only] Our friend took us on a bar-hopping tour, and Rustic Tap was one of the stops. The place has a cozy, homey vibe with a mix of seating options--from campfire-style setups to bar seating and regular tables. I tried the Sure 'Nuff (Deep Eddy Lemon, Peach Schnapps, and Pink Lemonade), which was super easy to drink and tasted great. The self-serve water stations were a nice, convenient touch. We sat in front of the stage and caught a couple of songs from the live band before heading out. Overall, Rustic Tap is a fun, laid-back spot to hang out with friends and enjoy some live music.

Rustic tap is THE sports bar to go to in Austin. Great drinks, plenty of room to hangout or sit at a picnic table, good music. It's hands down my favorite place to watch a sports game. When there isn't sports on, it's fun to watch live music there too. I'll also shout out their food as I love their snack menu. I always get their flautas as a late night snack and they always hit.

Came here on a Thursday night, the bar was busy and packed with corporate finance bros with name tags and Thursday football crowd. There were multiple fireplaces surrounded with comfy camping chairs, which was a nice touch. We didn't order any food but they do have normal bar food. They have a nice selection of local beers. Out of the cocktails we ordered, El Tigre was the better one (3.5/5). I'm not a fan of their take on ranch water (2/5).

Your sports bar on 6th street near downtown Austin. Not sure how you can park nearby for free so that's a minus. Very frat bro and corporate bro vibes to this bar and super crowded on a Thursday night but it's got ample outdoor seating and food much like Heights Biergarden in Houston. Their drinks were fine and not too watered down but their ranch water wasn't my favorite.

We were able to have a conversation without feeling like others were listening. The music is very different than the vibe of the actual area. They were playing different rap & hip-hop artists. It was loud, but I enjoyed it. It felt very Austin-y. Loved the drinks. There was one that had something to do with Bob's Lake, or something like that. That drink was absolutely delicious. We also got the caviar service, and I really enjoyed that. Was not crazy about the blinis, I believe they were made with black corn flour. The crème fraîche was very nice. Very nice night out. This place also doesn't feel overly expensive. It's expensive, but in a similar price range to other cocktail bars in the area.

There is something for everyone--no kidding. I loved their spin on a Paloma and my friends enjoyed standard items like old fashions and Moscow mules. Very very comfortable lounge seating, plush velvet and other soft textiles with leatherette coasters. Very elevated and calm. Music is perfect but kinda loud so conversation is a bit of a struggle. It is very very very dark in there so it's super intimate and features candles and mini tap light lamps. If you have sight or mobility issues, you may not like this venue from a safety standpoint. Steep incline stairs lead down to this dungeon like hold. I would return in a heartbeat. Must have the password. Exclusive and decadent is the mood. So if it matches you, you have to visit!

Once we walked through Manny's, we were greeted right away and since we had a reservation, we were seated promptly. Quick heads up: cell phones aren't allowed inside -- they take your phone and give you a key to a locker where it's stored for the night. The idea is to keep everyone present and engaged with each other instead of their screens (they do make exceptions for emergencies or on-call situations, at the business's discretion). I actually love the reasoning behind it, even though I wished I had my phone to snap pictures of the inside! The space itself is dark and moody with major art deco Miami vibes, like something out of the 80s-90s. Think pink velvet draped everywhere, a life-size taxidermy leopard in the middle of the bar, and flamingo sculptures scattered throughout. It's gorgeous. There's plenty of seating between the booths/couches and the bar, and they seat you according to your party size. We got a plush half-circle booth with a table that fit all of us perfectly -- great sightlines too, so everyone could see and talk to each other easily. Each table gets an assigned server, and ours was fantastic. We ordered cocktails along with the yuca fries, empanadas, and quesadillas -- all delicious. I can't remember the name of my cocktail, but it was pink, gin-based, and so good, served in a beautiful tall stem glass. Loved everything about this place and will absolutely be back next time I'm in town!

The guy at the front was very nice, but as soon as we get to the "receptionist" the entire narrative changed. She looked my girlfriend and I up and down and then proceeded to tap multiple times on her IPad. She then says, "you know it's 1:30? we close at 2. we only have standing room." She had the most miserable scowl on her face. My girlfriend and I were dressed very nicely (pants & jacket, and a dress), so I know this was not a outfit issue. I do not know what her issue was, but if you are tired and don't like staying up late, don't work in a bar. After saying that there was only standing room, I decided that I was not going to spend money in an establishment that speaks to people in such a disgusting way, so I proceeded to leave. One of the guys out front asked what was wrong and asked if he could buy us a drink, but at that point I decided that I would not spend a dime at this place. Just giving a heads up! Lady at the front is EXTREMELY rude. Looking at the other 1 star reviews, it looks like this place has a reputation for being discriminatory.

There are some tables, and big comfy couches around a coffee table in the middle of the bar which is where we sat. I had one of their happy hour cocktails that was similar to a creamy espresso martini, and they are 50% off on happy hour days/times! My friend got one of their floral cocktails which wasn't discounted but I LOVED it personally. I also got a strawberry matcha drink (non alcoholic) that was a little too sweet in my opinion; I finished it but wouldn't get it again. Overall though the cocktails and vibe in there are worth a visit alone! When it's not too hot, the area outside has little mini-chandeliers and is also very vibey.
