Chef Tom continues to impress. While his original vision of fresh farm to table food is great, he has grown and been able to create a menu that is the perfect blend of farm to table and highly in demand comfort food. This menu kills and EVERYTHING is delicious (as i have had everything). I haven't been back for Sunday brunch, so i can't comment on that menu, but i plan on going back soon. The wings are amazing, get them. They are not those hormone full, gelatinous wings you get at most other places. They are small and if you're looking for massive wings, skip these, but feel sorry for you. The deviled eggs are also scrumptious with a taste of horseradish and topped with caviar. I always get both when i go, no matter what. Happy hour is the best value outing you can have here. The roasted chicken is killer, simple, delicious and filling. If you haven't been back, definitely give it a shot, you will not be disappointed. I have to say the service i get there is always superb, Maurizio is a great manager and always accommodating. Chef Tom loves to greet his guests as well, which is nice to see. Keep doing what you're doing because you're on the right track Chef Tom. P.S. Speaking of comfort food...PLEASE...please come out with a nashville hot chicken dish. And make sure to message me if you do! read more

This Rustic Farm to Table Resturant is located right in Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury. It's inside of a shopping center with the inside corner spot. Which is right next to Ivarone Bros Quality Foods. So since it's in a shopping center rest be assured you'll have a parking space in the huge parking lot. You May have to walk a bit further on busier nights though as the night crowd switches from the day crowd. The exterior is bland shopping center signage and typical facade. Nothing to write home about there for sure. But the inside has great decor all around with brick and wood clad walls. Rich tones all around with natural materials and cool looking hammered copper lamps by the booths. Chalk board drink and food specials are pretty cool. They have a booth divider wall with some build in wine racks that are cool as well. The main dining room has huge wooden lighting chandeliers that are rustic. The back bar is neat and farm country like for sure. You can even see into the kitchen with a nice picture window. The bathroom was super clean and smelled clean. The decor in the bathroom followed the theme as well. The staff by the bar and in the dining room we're both very friendly. The only thing is they don't take reservations so you need to chance it and have a drink by the bar. Cross your fingers and hope you get they're at the right time to beat the rush or at least get a bar stool to wait it out. The cocktails I herd were very good and strong enough as well. The food was great and had lots of flavor but a little on the salty and oily side. But I would order everything I got again. Including the octopus, salmon, and sword fish. The dessert special as well was good and gobbled up quickly. The only thing I didn't like was both times I went the crowd confused me. You had middle age and older people dining in classier date night clothing, while you had others in basically sweat pants I don't care clothing. They're we're older couples catching up and younger couples on date, while they had some children on iPads. One time I went I got a toy thrown at me by a kid, which is fine I picked it up and gave it back of course nicely. But it leaves you to wonder should this place with these prices and clientele have to forgo date night for these kinds of interruptions..... read more

Atmosphere - As the name implies, the atmosphere is very rustic / farmhouse. Very well decorated! Food - This is a farm to table restaurant. You can taste the freshness on the food. I went with a couple of friends and we had the chicken flatbread, chicken burger with fries and salmon and rice. All were very good but the salt and vinegar fries were incredible. The fries tasted very light and were very will seasoned. Good sized portions as well. You left the restaurant feeling like you had a good but healthy meal. Service - The server was very friendly and made good recommendations Overall nice place and I would go back read more

I really wanted to come here and be blown away by the food but I just was really under impressed. I usually love farm-to-table restaurants but for this I was just a little disappointed. I got the deviled eggs and Moroccan carrots to start. I was a little disappointed because the deviled eggs were good but the filling wasn't too flavorful and it wasn't as creamy as I expected it to be. I know some people really raved about this dish but I wasn't too impressed. I got the Moroccan carrots also and I was shocked to find out that it was more of a cold dish. The carrots were cooked but they were served somewhat lukewarm. Because of that it was kind of unappealing. Also, the addition of the almonds really threw off the dish. I figured it was there as a textural element for the dish but the flavors weren't there. Somewhat disappointing. read more

I've been here twice and have been very satisfied with my experience. My first visit was quite a while back and I came with two girlfriends for happy hour and some delicious bites. I recall the drinks and food were great - I wasn't expecting such fresh ingredients. You can really tell that everything is as described in the menu - organic, local (when possible) and super fresh. The most recent time, i came with my husband. He had an old fashioned that he said was creative but left him feeling like it could have been more balanced. We ordered the shrimp and grits, the Korean wings and the branzino entree, and of course a side of the salt and vinegar fries! I mostly stuck to the two appetizers and fries. Loved the grits (duh), the Korean wings were tasty but not as robust and flavorful as i was hoping. My husband said the bronzino was cooked perfectly and was delicious. And of course, the fries were great. The atmosphere is interesting in the restaurant - they had no music playing, but the tables were packed out, so it just had a jovial, bustling feel. If it were early or late in the night, I can imagine if it was quiet with no music it may have been too quiet, but maybe something was on super low and we just couldn't hear it. The staff was very attentive. We will definitely be back. read more

Really nice spot to grab a bite to eat and a drink for brunch with the girls or date night. I ordered the sweet escape and really liked it. The food was also really good and I liked that the menu wasn't too long as sometimes that can be overwhelming. Will definitely be back. read more

brought my friend here for a brunch and we were both happy with this spot! The decor is great- the restaurant is covered with rustic details and you can tell there was a good amount of thought put into decorating this place. The place isn't too small, but it got packed super fast and they don't take reservations. The staff were all super friendly, accommodating, took the time to explain all the food items and they paid extra close attention to my food allergies which is always a relief. They would check in frequently to see if we needed anything- the restaurant has a great atmosphere! We decided to try a lot of food because, why not. We started off with their avocado toast, biscuits and their honey corn bread. The avocado toast was topped with shredded parmesan which was different but that extra flavor was nice. Their biscuits and homemade jam were delicious and the corn bread- amazing! It wasn't too sweet and not at all too dry, it comes in a skillet so it can be enjoyed warm. If I had to pick one, I would go with the corn bread! I went with their salad, and I am still thinking of this salad. I went with their fig salad, the ingredients were fresh and the flavors worked so well with one another. The salad isn't only beautiful, but incredibly delicious! My friend had the mushroom flatbread, if you like mushrooms, this is the flat bread to get! This was a great brunch spot and we will probably be back to see how their dinner menu is. read more

Unfortunately Rustic Root not as good as it used to be, the food was good but not memorable. If you're looking for a change of pace, it's got the atmosphere and different menu. Appetizers always good. read more

The first time I came into Rustic Root it was fantastic. We sat at the bar at a weird hour of the day on a Saturday, maybe around 2 something or 3 and had some drinks and a bite to eat. People had raved about this restaurant and so we gave it a shot even though it was a little bit of a hike. It's located in a shopping center in Woodbury where the old Laguna Grille was; it's funny because I had been to Laguna Grille when it was open so it was interesting to go on in and see what this place was like, UPGRADE. There is a lot to look at in Rustic Root, they really didn't miss an inch in terms of decor, very beautiful. I really love a restaurant that allows you to eat healthily and also advertises which menu items are gluten free, dairy free, vegan, etc. So many people make fun of guests with food intolerances and I like to call those people food bullies. Food intolerances exist and guess what, even if you aren't lactose intolerant, maybe you have made the decision to eliminate dairy from your diet for your well being, that's nobody's business but you're own and you shouldn't have to explain to anyone why you don't eat dairy so thank you Rustic Root for highlighting menu items that appeal to all kinds of eaters. Anyways, we came a while back and got some sort of tuna pizza, I don't think it's on the menu anymore, maybe it was a special but it was delicious. Raw tuna or maybe it was salmon, can't recall exactly but it was outstanding. There were so many other menu items we wanted to try but it was an odd hour of the day to eat so we just had a few drinks and hung out for a while. There was one other couple at the bar and nobody else in the restaurant. The owner happened to be there and told us that they did a brunch on Sundays and when we browsed the menu it looked awesome. This has been on my list of places to go back to so I'll definitely be in for brunch soon. read more

I ended up randomly coming across this restaurant while looking for a place to take my mom on a nice date. I was amazed at the atmosphere, level of service, and the quality and price of the meal. We ordered the grilled octopus, the short rib with salt and vinegar fries, and the oyster mushroom tacos. My mom, who doesn't ever prefer eating out, absolutely loved this place. So much so that we ended up ordering the burger and the prime roast beef sandwich to take home so that the rest of the family can try it when they got home. Even while cold, the sandwiches were amazing. Will definitely be coming back read more

Been here twice, its okay not what I would go back again. I really apologize because I know running a restaurant is not easy work and I hate giving these kind of reviews read more

One of my favorite words to use to describe a restaurant's decor is rustic. So what better place than rustic root (lowercase letter as per the restaurant's usage) to give me that opportunity? Well after this past Friday night, I was given much more than awesome ambiance as this meal was superb. Accompanied by fellow Yelper, Matthew K., we ventured off to Woodbury and into this truly rustic little spot. Our timing was perfect as the place isn't too big, but there was no wait (people filed in soon after us to fill it). When delving a little more into that rustic feel, you'll enter to a wall made of faded brick with a huge "rustic root" logo branded in the middle. More rusticity can be seen at the wooden tables and comfy booths, walls made of rolling pins, and huge chalk boards hanging with specials and drink options. Speaking of drinks, I went with a Shalfly Pumpkin Ale (recommended by the friendly and attentive waitress) which was a great choice as my thirst quencher for the evening. The menu comes rubber-banded onto a rocky slab and isn't too extensive, but it feels as though this helps in ensuring true attention to detail in food preparation and quality. I mean you can tell, through each bite, how fresh everything is. To start, we shared ricotta toast and skillet cornbread. For some reason, (that reason being me not reading the description of orange zest and fig jam on top of it) I was picturing a creamier, more savory item. But after adjusting my tastebuds to sweetness and taking a second bite, I realized just how amazingly addicting this toast was. Creamy ricotta and fruity fig worked very well with the thick toast. As for the cornbread it came in a hot skillet (as promised) and was genuine in creation via the pieces of corn you were able to see baked in. It had a sweet warmth with a tiny hint of saltiness that made it equally addicting. We almost didn't need a main course at that point, but we ventured on. For me, I went after the grass fed beef burger (topped simply with lettuce, tomato, and sprout creamery cheese on a lovely sesame seed bun) with salt/vinegar fries and pickles. The burger was thick and had a good meaty flavor. It was a tad dry, but the creamery cheese and tomato did well in counteracting that. The fries were nicely cooked with just a hint of vinegar flavor. Not to be forgotten was the side of ketchup which most definitely was not Heinz as it had a wonderful tomato-ness (new word) that complimented the fries and made for a great taste combo on your palate. Having the pickles come in their own little jar still sitting in some pickle juice was a nice final addition. Matthew K. went for the chicken burger and was raving about it (especially the parsley mayo) through every bite. Overall, rustic root concocted an impressively rustic, fresh meal in a comfy and cozy (and rustic) setting. The menu may not be large, but from what we experienced, each item is worthy of a taste. I'll be back soon to see if there's even more rusticity to be found in these tasty roots. read more

Went here once a while back then tried it again yesterday. We were super happy with our dinner! It was the first day of a new menu. We had the wings which were near perfect. We also had a salad with bleu cheese and bacon which was fantastic. Our entrees were the whole branzino which tasted incredibly fresh and if anyone will fine a bone in the fish, it's my wife. She didn't even find one. I had a pasta dish with pork ragout which was ideal. The pasta was a perfect al dente and super full of flavor with a nice peppery taste. We finished with the sticky toffee pudding which was gone in record time. We can't wait to go back! This place wasn't busy. They respectfully reminded us of the covid rules when we sat down. There were people eating outside and inside, nicely spaced out. We were checked on multiple times by our server and the manager. It was a great experience and can't wait to go back! read more

A fun place for lunch and dinner. I was a bit hesitant bring my son who is 3yo, because you just never know if he's having a good day or bad day. But I decided to take the risk and bring him on a mini date because there's only so many visits this mommy can take to Chik-fil-A and it turned out great. He was on his good behavior and tried the mushroom risotto, which I told him was cheesy rice with my short rib and he has a cheese burger and fries. They did forget to put cheese on his burger which he was quick to point out but that was a quick fix, the staff was quick to melt a slice of cheese on his burger and brought it back out quick. My only semi-compliant was a side was small sweet potato smash was $12 which was the same cost of his burger and fries. Otherwise, everything was great, staff was attentive and we had a fun time. The food was very good, I think I would go back to try some of their other items. Thanks Rustic Root. read more

Food was amazing, service was top tier. Will definitely recommend to all and come again.

So my sister brought me here for my bday and what a gem it was. Tucked away next to a few other very popular restaurants, this might just be my favorite. I indulged and got an old fashioned that was so smoky and delicious, I believe I saw the bartender actually smoke the glass and it complemented the bourbon beautifully. My only critique would be that it was a bit sweet, but I also don't enjoy very sweet drinks, but other than that it was a good drink. We got a bunch of appetizers to start, we got the Brussels sprouts that came with a tangy yogurt which was so frikkin good. Salt and vinegar fries, which were a hit, and the pork belly which was made in this sweet sticky delicious glaze. We were pretty full after all that but over indulged and I got the bacon flatbread with Brie and chili flakes, and a yolky yummy egg on top. My goodness! So creamy and salty with a little kick. My sister got the chicken burger with a fried egg on top (we have a thing for runny egg yolks). Everything should come with a runny egg yolk. So good. Can't wait to come back. read more

Have been here a few times over the last couple years and have been impressed every time. Came this week with family and sat outside. The wait staff is on their game and made sure we always had née silverware, heat lamps, beverages, the works. We started off with the wings which were just the right amount of crispy. I had the burger with onion jam and salt and vinegar fries. So delicious. The small little touches like serving homemade ketchup and pickles in a mason jar make it a memorable dining experience. Definitely not on the casual end when it comes to pricing, but the meal is well worth it. read more

What a great addition to our neighborhood! The night that the mad Russian and I came, Rustic Root was open for about seven weeks and if they had any kinks in their system, the certainly have already ironed them out. Here's what we ate: Roasted Beets $10 Mushroom Flatbread $13 Chicken Live Pate $11 Duck Burger $21 For drinks we had: Summer Mule $6 Kettle One and Club $10 Our server was a complete doll, Madison. She came straight away and delivered us cocktails lickety- split. A definite plus. Meanwhile, we perused the menu and found our tasty treats. The chicken Pate was far and away the best item we ate. However, had we not ordered way too much food, the Duck burger would have won, followed closely by the Mushroom Flatbread. Service was excellent and we were glad we showed up when we did, as the place was jam packed full on a Thursday night at 7:45. Parking is a breeze in a lot that offers so much of what we love in our town- options for great eats everywhere. Outside seating is available and was full the night we came as well. A definite must -do if you're in the area. And Best of Luck to this great new restaurant in our neighborhood! read more

Pleasant farm-to-Table dining experience. Never had brussel sprouts this small and tasty, full of flavor and texture. Cornbread was the bomb. #Chopped Entree fell short. Ordered duck confit and cod. Food was mediocre good. What was more disturbing was the service provided. I requested a booth since there were many empty but was told they were "reserved". Was given cramped table for two instead. Then the table next to us requested to be moved to a booth and they were immediately accommodated. Throughout our meal, booths remained empty. Had to wonder why I and my friend were not accommodated. Wife had the salmon with some sort of purée underneath. Really nicely cooked salmon - we requested cooked through since we are expecting!!!! Delivered perfectly. Our son had grilled cheese. Wow! Just wow... Amazing food and a beautiful restaurant. I was around the area, and found this gem through Yelp and this had the highest rating, for good reason. Spectacular service and talented chefs. My husband and I started with smoked old fashion and black duck porter beers. For the appetizers we shared the charred octopus and butternut squash soup. Only "negative" comment was that the octopus wasn't really charred. But omg, the flavor combinations to both apps were crazy delicious. The goat cheese added to the soup took it to another level. As for the octopus, I loved that there was a kick to it. Since it was late, I had the kale and chicken salad as my entree. Once again, the chef is a genius in flavor profiling. It was just a damn salad but holy shiznets it was good lol. Hubby had the clam linguine. That was tasty as well and the clams were breaded and baked. Had to end the night with dessert which was the bread pudding. I guess the chef was an artist too bc it was a beautiful piece of art. It tasted even better. Overall, great service thanks to Kevin and delicious food. Can't wait to come back again even tho I live 20ish miles away haha read more

Impeccable! This is my favorite on Long Island - my go-to when I can, without doubt be guaranteed a great meal. In the span of two weeks, I have eaten here 3 times.. and each time I have left blown-away. Appetizers: Charred Octopus (awesome), Pierogies (good), Beet Cured Snapper (special of the week; WOW!) Main dishes: honestly, I have not made it past the weekly specials...Branzino, Pan seared Red Snapper and Scallops...all fresh and well-executed. I will make it to the regular menu and follow-up with an addendum. Sides: Fingerlings (potatoes), Saute Mushrooms, Squash (each side order enough for 2-3 ppl) Dessert: Peaches with Mascarpone cheese (Heavenly) Weekly specials change on Thursdays and are based on season and what is available. Service was excellent...my glass was always full and frequently checked to see everything was to my liking. Seasoning was spot on...never had to reach for the salt & pepper. If you haven't been - it's a must go. Definitely will be a regular. read more

The food was amazing, and the beverage pairings are on point. We could have eaten 3 of those Mushroom Flatbread apps by themselves. The Slab Bacon was so good, peppery and sweet, I was looking for other items on the table to put that sauce on. The grass-fed burger came with some really good pickles on the side, and the creamery cheese on it was seared to perfection. The Steak Sandwich had to be taken home to be enjoyed again later. This late lunch visit turned a gloomy, tiring day all the way around. Will be definitely coming back to have more people experience this place. Very well done, Chef Gloster. read more

As the server put out the tiny plates spilled a full glass of water on my lap. The server apologized and brought out another bottle of water and said " we won't charge you for the bottle" DUH. Then the burger was well done, sent it back. No manger came over to show any empathy, nothing was taken off the bill, not even a complimentary dessert.
