Walked in and almost every table was filled which was positive. I waited in line and ordered a monkey muffin. This was very good. It was a pull apart muffin with sweet cream cheese frosting on top. There is a nice menu with various sandwiches that I will try next time that looked really good. You order in line and your food is made to order. I wish they had more coffee specialty drinks as they have a nice espresso machine. They only had vanilla, caramel and hazelnut nut flavored syrups. The coffee however was very good. I was in the area and needed a place to have lunch and this place looked promising. The interior is cute and the line to order sandwiches moved pretty quickly. I had the chewheato on the multigrain baguette and my mom had the organic turkey & gruyere on the regular white baguette. I liked how they slice the meat to order and it's cut very thin. I think for the price of the sandwich, it could use a little more ingredients especially since there is so much bread. The spicy chipotle sauce on the chewheato was not really spicy, and tasted more like a sweet tomato paste, imo.. a little too sweet. The ingredients are fresh and the sandwiches are decent. A little pricey for a lunch that leaves you not completely satiated. read more

The hot coffee is very good and they offer Oatly as non dairy creamer. Although I have no intolerance, they offer gluten free and dairy free options to be super inclusive. The bread is just over $3 which is cheaper than the stores and fresh! The inside is large and visually appealing. They have a couch seating area coffee shop style and a full bakery. OMG! AMAZING! Thank you Yelp for leading the way on finding this gem! I was in Lemont visiting one of my vendors in the area and figured I should buy them a treat. When you walk in, the place is clean, bright and almost from a West Elm catalogue vibe. For a variety of croissants that they offered was impressive! 4 chocolatey, 3 fruit types, 1 ham & cheese and 1 butter. the lady behind the counter was probably not used for anyone coming out of nowhere and asking to order 2-3 of everything. I think she was a bit confused because she asked me again what I wanted and I repeated myself. The taste of every croissant was amazing! From white chocolate pistachio, nutella almond, blueberry topped ones and the ham and cheese. OMG! So flakey, rich and delicious. I wish they had a location in LA. Pros: The setting was fitting for the restaurant's name. It has a chill atmosphere and is a great place to converse with friends since it's not too loud and the decorations provide a home-y vibe. Cons: I ordered a salad and yes, the flavor was good but the ratio of topping to greens was not proportional so I didn't get as much flavor. Instead I received a heaping bowl of spinach. The bowl was not even big enough for me to mix so everything kept falling out. To make matters worse, I wanted to add meat to my salad but there was no meat on display in the toppings section nor was there any physical list of meat choices. Naturally, I asked what my meat choices were and the person serving me simply responded with "whatever meat we serve". Not only did this not answer my question, it was a very unaccommodating response. I asked him again to tell me what the meat choices were and after I chose chicken, he dumped a sloppy serving of chicken deli slices over my bowl of grass (refer to picture). Overall, service was not great and the salad was lacking. I hope next time I go, it will be better. read more

Tried RK for the first time and my taste buds were break dancing in my mouth. The salmon sandwich was a delight! I must admit, the proportions were a little fishy. This cost the final star. They might want to give the fisherman a couple hours of overtime so they can pack the wich with more salmon. What stole the show here was the Turkey Briole! I added bacon to it and the bacon/turkey /cranberry combo was a fantastic combo that left my stomach full but, my mouth craving more! The atmosphere was inclusive for everyone: hippies, corporate thunder dogs, and normies can all feel at home here. read more

Food and staff is always excellent! I love that you can't customize their sandwiches too much, makes them special. The vibe inside is very cozy and chill. The workers are very nice. The exterior is unassuming, but inside, they are making some terrific breakfast. Not only was my Rustic Egg Sandwich amazing, the prepare ever bit of the sandwich in front of you. Additionally, you can watch the bakers knead the dough through an open glass. Hidden gem! I was looking for what I would call a "craft breakfast sandwich." Living in the suburbs this type of item is hard to find. I won't eat McDonald's or DD's gross stuff; Starbuck's, despite using some higher quality ingredients, is all essentially microwaved, pre-cooked stuff like DD that is more expensive. I consider Hannah's Bretzel downtown to be the gold standard of such "craft" sandwiches, and Rustic Knead is a good suburban alternative. Rustic Knead is a fast-casual bakery/café that had exactly what I was looking for: a cooked from scratch breakfast sandwich with real eggs on high quality (made in house) bread with some other unique ingredients. They nailed it, and for less than $5. The inside is charming. It is indeed rustic, but refined rustic and not tacky. It has a walk up counter where they keep pastries and the sandwich assembly line. You can eat in (no waitservice), or carry out and the latter was super good because usually the only place you can get a cooked from scratch breakfast sandwich like this is at a sit-down café or diner. The sandwich itself was fantastic. As I said earlier, a craft sandwich that I couldn't have produced easily at home. Craft bread, bacon, egg, sliced avocado and the real kicker: fig spread. Unique flavor but went unexpectedly well with the other ingredients. This is a hidden gem in the SW burbs which lack much of anything like it. I have a Rustic Knead....a Rustic Knead for....sandwiches? This place is very fresh, and also very hip and chic. They want to be a really fancy artisan bakery for the area, and I think they have succeeded. There isnt much to speak of in this part of town in terms of fancy places to have a lunch. I think this place fills that void nicely. The Cobb sandwich I got was very tasty. With chips and a bottle drink it came out to a little over $12. Not very economical if you want to eat here a lot, but I think I could make this a twice a month spot in my lunch merry-go-round. 5 Stars if the prices were better. read more
