I called the number on the listing (510) 640-0151, and someone who sounds like a half asleep teenager who does not want to be bothered answered. I asked if they do Passport photos. He mumbled which I interpreted as hold on asks someone, then asks me which location am I calling about. I was assuming since this number was on the Mountain View listing, I said the one closest to Palo Alto. He chuckled, like that's not going to help me. So I asked how many locations do they have and he replied with more attitude "like ssssix.. (plus another chuckle)". I wasn't calling for fun. I was actually looking for a passport photo place. It will be helpful if you guys train your teenagers to be more professional and provide information. He finally told me that the only location that do passport photos is the one in the East Bay. My takeaway is that I will NEVER order from them again! All went well until I received the prints. Well, I was quite prepared to accept low quality prints because it was a last minute order. Still, the quality was below my expectations. Then, it got worse when I got my credit card statement. I was charged an extra ~$200. Since then, I have not been able to contact Jesse, who used to be very helpful and responsive in the first place. These are my sincere warnings 1. Poor quality, poor quality paper, color difference, poor binding quality. 2. Contracts that harm the interests of the buyer. The contract doesn't just protect RushMyPrints from delivering inferior products. It also protects them from charging you extra. Both will happen, trust me. Think twice before signing. 3. Charges extra than quoted, so watch out for credit card bills. They will make up excuses for it. 4. No integrity! They "BUY" positive reviews. They offered me a $75 gift card if I agreed to write positive reviews. Many people can enjoy these personal benefits while spending company money. I sent a client of mine to get ink fingerprints done and it turned into a horrible experience there. The fingerprints were terrible; literally black smudges on the cards. They did not even give him anything to clean his fingers. Called and complained that the fingerprints were not acceptable. They said they would redo it at not charge and an appointment was made for him for the next day. These people were a no-show, the place was closed. Client waited two hours. No one answered the phone either. Had to go with UPS instead; they did a superb job compared to these people. Let's support a new local business! Oops, big mistake. Request For Quote online, I asked for, among other details, 14 pt. Cardstock Gloss, and a proof to confirm trim zone and safe zone. Raajiiv quickly beat the online vendor's price quote, and obviously needed no shipping/handling fees since we're local. I was happy, but since his Quote mentioned "14 pt. UV Coated," I asked for clarification. My online vendor never mentioned coatings. We set up a visit so I could compare RMP's paper to my old cards. At the appointment he gave me two of his fliers, one of which he described as having the UV coating and one uncoated. I was happy with the uncoated example, an exact match for the item I bought along for comparison purposes. The UV coating was however not a match. He followed up via email with me asking if I had questions. Before proceeding, I sent an email asking if it would be possible to conduct a first article inspection (a print or a couple of prints before running a full batch), or alternatively an appropriate PDF proof of the artwork and the cut lines and safe zone. RMP never responded to this email request. When I was fully ready to dial in the details of the order, I then emailed again on 12/15/2017 and explicitly described that, as per our conversation in the El Sobrante store, we needed the 14 pt. Cardstock Gloss (No UV coating) instead of the UV coated version shown in his original quotation. Furthermore, I noted that his quotation mentioned: "PDF files 5.1" x 3.1" with all important text and images between 4.9" x 2.9". Only Bleed Image should be extended all the way" Since I did not have the ability to verify that my files satisfied this requirement, I said so, and asked that he verify the dimensions, resolutions, cut lines, safe zones, and color parameters of my files. The online guys had used those exact files before to give flawless results. I attached not only my source files, but an example of the "digital proof" the online vendor generates. I received no response. On 12/19, I called the El Sobrante location and asked if they intended on confirming receipt of my 12/15 order email. Instead of dealing with Raajiiv, apparently now Jesse was running the shop. Jesse did not immediately give me any confidence that he knew who I was but he confirmed they would accept the order. I asked him about the digital proof and he said they would indeed create one. It seemed like he was more or less ready to let me off the phone without taking payment information, so I (foolishly?) asked about payment and he took my AmEx. I asked how long it would take; he gave a lead time of 1 week. "Proofs" emailed on 12/20. There was no explicit indication of any sort of safe or cut lines, bleed image area, nothing but slightly cropped images. The only amount shown as being chopped off was acceptably in my designed/acceptable bleed area. Seeing that, I authorized production. Monday 1/8/2018 rolls around. Almost 3 weeks since I authorized production, and still nothing. I contact RMP and they tell me the cards will be available for pickup EOD Wed 1/10. I went to pick up on 1/12/18 and opened one of the boxes for inspection. It was obviously not cardstock gloss. (It was, also, obviously not coated with anything either.) It was shitty, rough, matte paper. Equally alarming, the cut line went into the main area of my artwork. Raajiv arrived and claimed that one of the example flyers was UV Coated, and the other was not in fact uncoated, but rather, he named off some other coating I'd never heard of (especially not from RMP!). I told him that he had, indeed, referred to one of the samples as uncoated and that I would not have ever agreed to what he ended up using. He then blamed the chopped artwork on me, claiming my files were of incorrect specification, and chided me for not requesting a first article inspection before going for the full run!! (WTF?!) EVEN IF I had made an error about the coating (which I did not), what RMP used cannot in any sense be described as Gloss cardstock, which I explicitly specified both in my RFQ and in my final submission. He wouldn't budge beyond 10% off. That's ridiculous; I'm not paying nearly full price on a print job that's unusable, through no fault of my own. Given the bad info I was given about the coating; Given the explicit efforts I made to clarify/verify material and files; Given the lack of response to my inquiry for first-article inspection; Given the lack of effort to respond to my order submission with an order confirmation; Given the failure to generate a true, representative, and explicit digital proof; Given the utter lack of good faith effort to uphold a stated lead time estimate, or make any effort to inform me of delta-schedule... (which would've been FINE anyway, given the holiday season!!); RMP has clearly established a lack of attention to detail, and Raajiiv himself not accountable to customers. I, too, am very glad this place has opened in this area. Looks nice and clean, the owner and workers are available to help (as compared to the understaffed staples), and looks like the quality is excellent. So far: I needed to get an 11 x 17 drawing from my nephew scanned before it faded more (done when he was 6, he's 20 now!). This is a precious item. They did a terrific job and it was SO convenient. I forgot to tell them the type of file I wanted (jpg, not pdf) and Jesse re-did it at no additional charge. My mistake, their great customer service. The first version of my document wasn't what I expected, so he swiftly printed a new version - came out perfectly - and delivered it at no extra charge. (Literally, in 20mins flat.) I went to this establishment after calling around for livescan pricing. They are the cheapest around. They are by appt only. They were prompt to answer on yelp and so I set up an appt. They rescheduled the appt the day of due to a sick call. No problem. I went in the next day and had livescan done. He asked for my license and quickly keyed the information. The gentlemen got a bit annoyed that I wasn't rolling my finger correctly but we got past that lol. It was quick and I left. The next day I discovered my license was missing. I needed that badly for a flight the next day. I contacted them late at night and they responded that nothing could be done before 10am tomorrow. My flight was leaving at 8:45am so it was pointless. I should have remembered to ask for my license back but I'm disappointed that nobody bothered calling me when they saw my license was still there. Having ran a business myself at one point, I always made sure to call a patron as soon as I discovered they had left something behind. Found them on the DOJ website for LiveScan fingerprints. Says open 8:30 to 7:00 walk-ins. Went this morning 10am. Sign flashing OPEN door was locked. Called and someone answered. Asked me where I was and I said out front on Appian Way. He replied "We are by appointment." Told him that is NOT what your website says. Can't walk-in if no one is there.
