They don't have a lot of flavors for their wings but when you perfect the few flavors you do have do you really need any others? It seems as if there has been a change in ownership and the new food is not good. My husband and I just wasted our money. We only ate 2 pieces of chicken, 1 each, and he noticed a change with the fries, leading him to go to 5 Guys, immediately after leaving the restaurant, instead. I absolutely love running chicks. I first discovered them in 2020 and went to the Alhambra location, so I was excited that there was one closer to where I moved! My go-to order is the soy garlic bone-in wings with the garlic butter fries. I have tried all the different flavors of wings, and soy garlic is the best, in my opinion. They give extra sauces without charge. This is my favorite soy garlic wing place. Running chicks soy garlic wings is my standard and I am consistently on the hunt to find a better place and have yet to do that. I love their wings because they are the perfect size, not too small where it feels there's barely meat and not too large that it feels like a drumstick. Additionally, they are extra saucy while staying crispy. I can taste the flavor of the soy garlic in every bite, even if it does not have skin. I wasn't expecting to write a 5 star review. It's a rare accurence for me, but I have to say, I was beyond impressed with this place. First off, I feel I must divulge, this place uses dark meat chicken. This fact I love. The chicken is juicy and tender. I tried their chicken sando and thoroughly enjoyed it. The flavor was great. The sweetness of the slaw and tangy pickles perfectly compliments the savory breaded chicken thigh. We also tried their boneless wings. Also using dark meat. The flavor from the chicken was good, but their sweet and spicy sauce delivers exactly what it's name suggests. The sweet lulls you into a state of comfort before the spicy kicks you in the mouth ( in a good way!) Lastly, I used the check in feature to get a bonus wing and for this one I chose lemon pepper. This was tangy and delicious as all lemon pepper wings are. Again the dark meat chicken was the star for me. I will be back! Let me just say, the staff there is super friendly and very welcoming. It's a new independent business and I always like to try and support them when I can. The menu isn't huge but that's okay, most chicken places have smaller menus so they can spend more time on cooking the chicken. I order the boneless wings (lemon pepper) with French fries. I gotta say, the chicken was nice and juicy. I was worried it would be dry, but I was totally wrong. The fries are thin cut and crispy. I don't like to over complicate my order. If its simple it's good in my book. The lemon taste wasn't overwhelming, it was a great accent. Oh my god, RC is now in Downey! I first heard of it through my coworker, and I've been a huge fan ever since. My family and I used to drive all the way from Cerritos to their other two stores for their FREAKISHLY DELICIOUS wings. They have one of the best chicken I've ever eaten.
