Went here a few weeks ago during my last week in Chicago. It was right around lunch time on a Monday so not very busy. The three workers who seemed to be a father and two sons were very friendly. Service was a little slow... It took about 25 mins to get our gyro and chicken kabob platter, but we were in no rush so we didn't mind. All the food was very fresh. The chicken kabob was juicy and the gyro looked tasty. My only complaint was the lentil soup tasted like water with essence of lentil. It was extremely bland and watery. My husband added in salt and thought it tasted okay... Overall a good spot for a "quick" bite. The food was well seasoned and tasty... Maybe it was just an off day regarding the soup and the service pace. read more

One of the Best Middle Eastern restaurants I've been to! I have not left feedback until trying this place a few times. Food is cooked just right, and has the right seasoned taste! Very Healthy food as well! And very fair pricing, especially being in the heart of Wicker Park! And last but not least, very dedicated and hospital staff. A+++ read more

Food is fresh and ok, but not as good as from Falafel Grill. I wanted to try something else and went to pick up something up. The restaurant is clean and with nice atmosphere. Before leaving with my order to go, I asked if everything was in the bag, they said yes. Food was ok, but when I got at home I realized they forgot a large side of hummus. I called and they said will credit my CC but never did it. I was upset because I asked before leaving if my order was complete and they didn't bother to check, they just said yes. I left a tip even though it was an order to go, and my order wasn't complete. Bummer! Learned my lesson. I'm going back to Falafel Grill. read more

This is the best place for Middle Eastern food thank you Rasheed for this great food.

SO GOOD! Real middle eastern food. Definitely my favorite spot in Wicker Park. Their chicken shawarma is just perfect. read more

I'm a big fan of the falafel plate here. Fresh, bright flavors in the falafel and all the plate options. It seems like this place is always empty when I walk by, which is odd in this area, but don't let that fool you. You'll get good food at reasonable prices here. read more

My order showed up 2 hours later which was very annoying. They didn't apologize when i called for an update. The food was skimpy and looked nothing like their photos "from the business owner". Small portions. Waste of my time and money. read more

Rumi Middle Eastern Grill - Platter - Mediterranean Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I've only gotten delivery from Rumi, but it's hands down one of the best Mediterranean food in Chicago. The hummus..oh the hummus is amazing. I'll have to come check it out in person but if you're looking for a comfort food delivery place for Middle Eastern food...check it out! read more

Excellent food, and even better customer service. We (regrettably) placed our first-ever Rumi order through Grub Hub. While our driver was en route with our food, we got a call from Rumi that our driver had left half our order - but that they had sent their own driver to deliver the rest. Wonderful! It arrived within 15 mins of the call. Then when our grub hub driver never showed with the part of the order that he picked up, Rumi made us whole - they re-made the missing part of our order, and the manager delivered it himself! The food was so delicious! We are definitely ordering from them again - but we'll only place orders directly from the website! Encourage you all to do the same. Thanks, Rumi! read more

Good food. Love having a lunch dates with my 13 month old daughter. The only downside was no changing table and very small bathrooms. I had to take a highchair in there to use the restroom instead of the stroller. read more

Some of the most flavorful falafel I've ever had! And they sell the cutest flowers/flower pots with instruction for use. I'll definitely be back. read more

Quick and delicious! My new go to in wicker park chicken pita and falafel were fantastic.

I enjoyed the food and atmosphere of Rumi. After spending a long time in the Middle East, I was excited to have found a right shawarma/kebab place which tastes authentic. I love the shawarma plate and the yummy lentil soup! Also, this is not to disperse the rest of their fantastic offerings. Highly recommended! read more

Great food for a party I was hosting. Everyone complimented it! Service was fast and efficient.

I have now been eating Middle Eastern food as my go-to take-out for over six months and attribute that to Rumi. Wicker Park/Bucktown seems to have a few more restaurants pop up every week, but having lived here for the past 5 years, I can say that almost none of them (especially of other middle eastern spots) can offer the consistency in healthy variety (light, lean, protein-rich, vegetarian, non-greasy, etc.), quality, freshness and richness that Rumi does. - The food is amazing and authentic - All meals are a great value - The owners are always there, working hard to deliver quality food and service - The interior space is vibrant and spotless Whether walking down Milwaukee Ave. or flipping through Uber eats, Rumi will be a great choice every time. read more

Discovered this place when they were handing out falafel samples one day as I was walking back from a dinner somewhere else. Thought it was excellent. Cut to about eight months later. I came to dinner with my son after doing some shopping. That was a few days ago. I'm back again, and the food is better this time than last time. Good flavors and spices. read more

I would stay away from the lamb, it tends to be a little dry and chewy but otherwise it's all pretty good! Definitely try the steak poutine!

Food is good, staff is friendly, quick/easy place to grab lunch BUT portions are baby size!!! Every time I go there staff picks the food with just the tip of the spoon. Always have to ask for extra of everything. At the end the plates looks huge and empty. Either get smaller spoons/plates or give better/full servings. read more

Stopped here for lunch. Decided on the chicken Shawarma plate with pita. I've had this same dish at several Mediterranean spots around the city and this place does it right. The food is flavorful and the perfect amount of food to get me through the rest of my day. Not the kind of heavy lunch that puts you to sleep. The man and woman behind the counter are super nice. I got my food to go but the dining area was clean and bright. I will definitely come back!!! Keep doing great food!! read more

Stopped in here on my way home from work to give it a try. I'm a big fan of middle eastern food and have been to a lot of different places in the city. Got the chicken shawarma sandwich - so I can't speak for anything else on the menu - but it was just OK. Kind of bland, nothing special. I asked if I could get hummus on my sandwich, and they said no, but I could get a side order of hummus if I want. Seemed a little odd that I couldn't get it on the sandwich (and I would've happily paid extra for it), but that's okay, no big deal. With my order, I also asked for a side of falafel. About 5 minutes later when I was paying and was given my sandwich, the cashier said "oh, you want falafel? It's going to be a few minutes, we need to make it." Again, no big deal, but not the greatest customer experience. The guys were friendly and courteous, but a little disorganized. I'll also point out that the place was completely empty, so it's not like they were busy dealing with other customers. I know they are still new, so I wish them luck in the neighborhood. With a lot of alternatives, I'm not sure I'll be back anytime soon, but I'd be willing to give them another shot and try something else on the menu. read more

Food was very good. Very casual. Order food at the counter and brought to the table. Reasonable prices. Nice location for dinner before the show at the Den. Free neighborhood parking off Milwaukee Ave. Would go back. read more

THIS IS MY FAVORITE PLACE IN CHICAGO. The food is perfection and affordable and so healthy. The restaurant is owned and run by 3 brothers and it's so lovely to support them and watch this business thrive. If you are in wicker park it would be a shame not to go. Mo (one of the owners) is so kind and lovely and so is every other person working there. RUMI IS THE BEST read more
