This place is my saving grace for when i want to treat myself but not think to much of what i want. All the food I've had from here is a 10/10 and everyone ive shown this place to thinks the same thing. Their salmon wrap is something like nothing ive never had anywhere else. Sooo good. This was one of the best shawarma wraps I've had. I can't find it on the online menu, but I got the shalafel wrap (I think) which was a mix of chicken and falafel. I would highly recommend that wrap or just a plain falafel wrap. The wrap, itself, was light and crispy. The sauce was flavorful and evenly distributed throughout the wrap. And there was a nice mix of toppings, including pickles, which I thought was unique and tasty. If you're in the area, you must add this spot to your restaurants to try. The food is reasonably priced and the staff was super sweet. Good luck finding parking in the area but it's worth the walk. The interior is clean with many tables seating 2-4 people. read more

Been here twice now and have really enjoyed the food/service both times. I bought a shawarma wrap for 8$, it isn't a gigantic wrap by any means but it is firmly packed with tons of delicious ingredients/kept me surprisingly full after finishing. The chicken is perfectly marinated, the lettuce/cucumber salad is fresh, the pickles give a great bite, and the hummus and tahini sauce top off a perfectly made wrap. I'd highly recommend getting the garlic sauce and hot sauce as well on the side. I also bought a chicken kabob plate that was not only visually appeasing but tasted just as good as well. As a foodie that loves Mediterranean I was a little hesitant to try Hummus Grill but it's become a favorite of mine for its consistency. I've had the falafel wrap, shawarma wrap and shawafel wrap. Ordered the Chicken Kebab plate, the Mixed Combo plate, and a Lentil Soup. Each plate comes with a small cup of humus, 1 falafel, a side salad, and pita. I not only love this place because it's close to my house, but because the ingredients they use are usually super fresh and of high quality. Ill start off with the Lentil soup. Holy smokes. Thick, hot, grainey, and has a slight undertone of almost a worcestershire flavor. so delicious, i was very pleased. Falafel-  very rich and flavorful Pita - sooooo tasty and fresh. I am a bread lover and this pita gets my approval. Hot sauce is also top notch. Not too spicy but packed with flavor. Chicken kebab - thick pieces of chicken breast roasted over an open flame, the marinade is delicious and not too spicy, and it comes with roasted veggies -  all served over a bed of yellow rice. Pretty straightforward dish and the chef nailed it. The mixed plate - 3 different meats included: Chicken kebab, kefta kebab, and steak kebab. It comes with more food than any of the other plates on the menu (ive had them all). Roasted veggies are also included with this plate, also served over a bed of yellow rice. The steak kebab is nice big pieces of beef, wouldnt say theyre exactly juicy, but the beef is high quality and the flavor is as expected for another straightforward menu item. I was a bit hungup on the kefta kebab. The ground meat they used was not seasoned enough in my opinion. It was slightly bland but i mean very slightly. No regrets ordering, but I have had better kefta elsewhere. Overall I highly recommend this place. Quick easy and so delish. One of my go-to's. read more

Meal was decent, it wasn't anything to call home about, but it also still had some good flavors. Portions for sauces were a little small, hummus was tasty though. If you're looking for a quick meal, this place is good. But if you are looking for really good Mediterranean food, I'd visit the Lawrence & Kedzie strip in Albany Park. I placed an order for pick up a simple order something quick a wrap. Pick up time is 25mins and when I showed up my order was started. It wasn't busy a Monday morning 3 employees I would think the order would be done. Well how right? Well the cook was outside talking and when he came back inside he rushed to start cooking. Mind you coming from outside and not washing his hands to get to cooking right away I was upset. The cashier that was taking an order and taking care of a walk in customer hurried up to start my order. The food is good but they really need to get some order in here and take up the proper classes to learn of the basic sanitation before starting people's food. Always consistently good food with a lot of options. Staff is polite and knowledgeable. It's also one of the few places around that are open later. They're putting a coffee/tea area in too that'll be a great place to relax. Do not try to grill hummus, though. It would be very messy. read more

Unfortunately, my meal at Hummus Grill was less than stellar. I was messaged on Yelp to try this restaurant by a friend of the owner and I am not one to not try a new Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurant, given my love for this cuisine and a strong recommendation to go with. In full disclosure, I did stop by 30min before closing on a Friday, not that that should matter. The restaurant had one other family being waited on. This is a fast casual type place with self service. The owner acknowledged and greeted me and I enjoyed my conversation while I waited for my food. Based on his recommendation, I got the mixed platter but he did forewarn me that they had run out of the lamb/beef kebab mix and he would be preparing it and as such there would be a slight wait. I didn't mind the wait but on digging into it a little later at home, I realized that the flavor was a little bland and not that strong, perhaps since it hadn't had time to sit and marinate overnight. The chicken kebab that came with the mix platter was quite chewy to the point that I had to throw a kebab away because of how tough it was. I opted to skip the rice and pita and just got extra salad. Owner was gracious to offer a generous serving and let me add extra tomatoes, red cabbage and hummus to it. The hummus was smooth and tasty but the salad was a-ok.
