It was my first time here and wow, impressive. The line was long but that may have been a good thing. It gave me time to decide what to get. They have plenty of options to choose from. If you can't find a drink option that you like then maybe you aren't in the mood for a drink. The baked goods also looked delicious. We ended up getting four small treats to sample, along with three drinks. I won't list them all but instead say that every item was well worth it. The chai especially hit the spot for me. I almost forgot. We also got a toast item. It did not disappoint. Unlike other coffee shops that treat food as a second thought, or with no thought, the food here all looked great. The toast was a good size. I believe sourdough as opposed to a tiny piece of bagged toast like other places. While the line was long, it went fairly fast. All the employees were busy yet happy. Those making the drinks were working nonstop but didn't seem over whelmed and were still helpful when customers had questions. Those taking food to the table were always kind. And the gentleman that took the orders seemed genuinely happy to be there. It had your "typical" local coffeeshop community vibe that others (like Starbucks) try to fake. Here is was genuine. Kudos to the owners/managers that hugged enough employees to get the work done. So many places seem to always be short staffed with employees that do their best but are overworked and under appreciated. You could come here to catch up with friends, get work done, or just take in the atmosphere. All while having a some amazing food and drink. I regularly try new coffeeshops just to try new places but rarely go a second time. This one is different. I'll certainly be back. It may be one of new favorites (along with Collect Coffee, Qamaria, and The Alchemist). Highly highly recommend. read more

Line was long but not too long to make us turn around... the end was just at the end of the dessert bar. Girl at the dessert bar was super sweet and helpful. Girl at the counter, excellent. It was our first time and she helped with suggestions without making us feel like we were a bother. I asked her which Signature Latte she'd recommend-- she said the Golden Date, that's what I went with. Got my niece the Matcha Latte. My friend and my sister ordered after me (keep this in mind)... they both took a few minutes each to place their order as they had questions for our girl as well. My sister ended up ordering the exact same drink I did, my friend ordered one of their Matchas. Fast forward-- my niece's drink is ready. Cool. Waited a few minutes, my drink is not ready yet... all good, right? They're busy. However, my sister's drink was ready not too long after that.......... same order as mine, ordered minutesss after me. Then my friend's drink was ready after that (she took even longer to place her order). So, yeah, naturally I went to the counter, waited a while since every person behind there decided to ignore me until the gentlemen asked me if I needed help. I asked him about my drink and he said "it's coming up". I said okay, waited and the 4 girls apparently making the drinks decided to stand in a huddle and chat about something, quick meeting? Idk... then finally, my drink was ready. No "thank you", no "sorry about the wait". I deserved at least that. Anyways, I'm not going to be a complete petty B about that because the drink was really good, the Honey cakes hit, and the two ladies who made ordering a breeze? Thank you. Heard a lot of hype about his place and decided to try it out....gotta say that it beat my expectations and definitely a place I'll be back to. Service was great! Was able to get some pastries that just looked good as I wasn't too sure what the names are. Also ordered a lattee but I think they had some type of queuing error and ended up having to ask them if they could help me out and they were more than happy to assist. Ambiance of the place is very nice and cosy. It was pretty busy when I pulled up on a Saturday around 9ish but started slowing down when I left around 10. Overall highly recommend as they have a TON of different pastries and top notch service. read more

This cafe just opened a month ago and already it's busy - because it's so delicious and high quality. The inside was very well decorated, clean, spacious, welcoming, and inviting. Staff were super friendly, open, and helpful. We ordered some pastries from their gorgeous display case. We got an eclair with chocolate topping, and coconut cream cake, a cannoli, and a milk cake. Our favorites were the cakes. The baklava also looked tasty; we will have to try that next time. The desserts tasted amazing. For drinks we ordered the rose cream foam cold brew, golden date latte, matcha latte, and mofawar. The golden date latte was my favorite. The matcha wasn't as sweet, but pairs well with the pastries. We also ordered the labneh toast with Zaatar seasoning, olive oil drizzle, and fresh cherry tomatoes and cucumbers. We also got the mortadella sandwich on focaccia bread. Great addition to the coffee culture here in Fresno. This place has been buzzing on social media for a while now, so I finally made my way over. There's tons of space for some laptop working and hanging with friends. My intern and I sampled a handful of pastries and drinks. She ordered the-iced matcha latte and I went with the espresso lime sparkler. My espresso drink, is espresso, non-sweet lime-seltzer, and poured over ice. It was good, but would have been way better with an orange seltzer instead of lime. My intern ordered the Sumac Chicken sando, I didn't try this, but she really liked it. I had the tiramisu, baklava, and a few other items. Everything was good overall, but too sweet for me. We went Rumi Coffee for desserts and coffee and got to try a few of their most popular deserts including harissa. I got simple double shot espresso. The stuff was helpful and patient with us and provided great recommendations for choosing from their wide variety of deserts. I liked their interior design and it is nicely decorated. The only thing I wish the management to improve is to set limit for people especially in peak hours, there were lots of people that were just hanging around with their laptops and creating difficulties for families to seat and enjoy their order. I'd have to admit I'm currently a bit obsessed with this place! I've found myself visiting once a week. The staff are friendly. They get really busy wish they had a second register when they do get swamped but it's nice to feel unrushed when getting help. This coffee shop is clean, beautiful, spacious and well lit. They have a good variety of pastries. I've had their chocolate baklava, regular baklava, baklava with walnut, harisa, eclair, cake, matcha latte and an ice golden date latte. First off the pastries I've ordered have been so goooooood! I normally don't seek out baklava but since I've had theirs, I find myself eating so much and craving it! The harisa is so addictive. I was told it came from Syria. The ice matcha latte is delicious. I highly recommend adding vanilla since their Matcha latte is not sweet. The Golden Date latte tasted of caramel but I felt it was just too much milk. Only complaint is I wish they had labels on all of their pastries, other than that each visit has been great! Okay, so I have mixed feelings about this place. On one hand, I was incredibly impressed with the pastries and atmosphere that had been created. On the other hand, I left a little dissatisfied by my drink. I went here one afternoon with an associate of mine just to grab a cup of coffee, and this place was absolutely crazy busy! Despite how busy it was, the entire place was clean and looked to be very much in order, all really good signs in my book. The woman behind the counter was incredibly friendly as she took our word. I have been a fan of Mafarwa coffee for a long time. I ordered it without hesitation. This, unfortunately, was my downfall. The version of this coffee is incredibly muted and tastes much more like a mellow or American-style Mafarwa coffee than an authentic one. Maybe some people really like that, but for me it just wasn't what I was hoping for. However, on the positive side, I had one of the most delicious pastries I've had in a long time! Unfortunately, I gobbled it down before I could take a single picture of it, but it had a wonderful cookie bottom with a nice sugary filling and a nice assortment of nuts. It was just the right amount of sweet and tasted incredible. All in all, the atmosphere is wonderful! The pastries look incredible, but the coffee just didn't do it for me. The woman behind the counter was kind enough to also allow me to try the chai, which unfortunately was another disappointment. As long as I'm not in the mood for coffee, I will likely return to this place in the future for pastries and tea. read more

Saturdays are busy!!! Be prepared. Probably waited about 10-15minutes in line but that was the only wait. Drinks were made quickly after ordering. The woman helping with the pastries was so kind and explained every pastry was asked about. She has recommendations on drinks as well. I got the chocolate and regular pistachio baklava and a fruit tart. The fruit on the tart was not as fresh as I would have liked. For drinks we had the date cold brew and the golden date latte. Both were just the right amount of sweetness with a great coffee flavor. For our kids they spilt the pomegranate hibiscus sparkler. That drink is perfect for a hot summer day. read more

Rumi kept showing up on my Instagram feed, so I finally decided to check it out. Really nice little spot. The place is clean, bright, and has a relaxed feel to it. They have a good selection of coffee, pastries, baklava, and other sweets, and everything in the display looked fresh. I tried one of the pistachio pastries and really liked it. So happy that there's another new coffee shop! It's close to work and they open at 6:30 AM everyday which is great for early birds. I went 3 days straight this week and tried 2 of their speciality coffee drinks; orange blossom and golden date iced latte w/ almond milk. My fav was the orange blossom. Perfect blend of flavors. The golden date has a caramel taste from the syrup. The coffee is strong which for me is perfect. I also got an iced americano w/ their vanilla sweet cold foam. The cold foam was good but it is pretty sweet. They have 2 other flavors for cold foam as well, golden date and rose. One of my fav things are their to-go cups. They're reusable, sip cups. Their coffee is very affordable as well. I haven't tried any of the pastries but definitely will, especially the tiramisu!! They all look so good. They have other food options as well including lunch/dinner as they are open pretty late in the evening. The place itself is cute, spacious with a lot of seating. Very welcoming atmosphere. What a great addition to Fresno. I love their strong coffee. Even letting it sit for another day, it still taste strong and balanced. Their menu is supper affordable. I love their subtle cozy and aestetic interrior with lots of spaces. Perfect for a meetup of study space. Mind you though, it's pretty loud and crowded in there. SERVICE :: It was a bummer that their sticker machine wasn't working properly and had us waiting for a good 20 minutes plus. I had to go up and ask for my order. It was a plus that they are supper speedy on making 2 drinks under 3 minutes. GOLDEN DATE LATTE $6.25 :: I love their strong coffee. I'm not sure if their latte is drip coffee but it's so strong and super flavorful. I love how this drink is nutty and sweet. They sweetness level is just right. Their caramel seems to be house made and it pairs so well with this drink. Even letting this drink sitting in the fride for another day, it still taste supper strong ans balanced. I don't have to stir it up. RATE : 5/5 ICED MATCHA LATTE $5.75 :: The powder quality is not that great. It reminds me of Starbucks matcha powder. The drink it self is not that sweet because their sugar syrup is house made. It's pretty diluted so i asked for a "ton" of side sugar syrup. Rumi Coffee is the kind of place where you come in for a coffee and end up wanting to try half the menu. We got the kunafa, sumac chicken sandwich, Adeni chai, and orange blossom latte. The Adeni chai was probably my favorite of the drinks... warm, spiced, and really satisfying. The orange blossom latte was good too, but the kunafa was the standout for me. Sweet, crisp, rich, and a great way to finish the meal. The sumac chicken sandwich was solid, with a nice tang from the sumac. The inside environment feels warm and inviting, which makes it an easy place to sit down and hang out for a while. A Yemeni coffee shop that just opened near Alluvial and Fresno in the spot where the jewelry store used to be. Very cute vibe inside with table and a cute couch area. Lots of yummy treats, including baklava, in their case, but today I tried the cardamom latte. I was told it wasn't sweet, but to me it was a little too sweet, so if I ordered that again I would ask for it less sweet. We were enjoying our coffee there, and they usually give a real cup if asked for, but we didn't get one today. My friend ordered a hot matcha, and she said it was very good. I noticed they have sandwiches on their menu as well as a few other things that sounded good for another time. We visited today, during their soft opening weekend (Saturday-late morning) and though there was a steady stream of customers, the staff remained very friendly and attentive! Each dessert was a perfect balance of sweetness and flavor and went well with our Cardamon and Golden Date lattes. The decor and seating invites you to linger and relax. We especially appreciated that the acoustics was well managed and though busy, we were able to hear our conversation, something that is often lacking at other busy coffee shops. Rumi Coffee is located on Alluvial/Fresno in the same space as Dumpling U. The vibe is honestly just makes you happy when you walk in - light, fresh, airy, with tons of natural light coming in, and you can tell every detail was thought out. From the lighting to the seating in the back corner, there's literally not a bad seat in the place. It feels welcoming, whether you're meeting someone or just want a good spot to study. I was immediately greeted when I walked in and there were 7-8 people working (including the owners), and everyone was friendly and patient while I asked all my menu questions. We were really excited to see date syrup on the menu because you don't see that at many coffee shops. We ordered the Golden Date Latte (hot with oat milk) and the Date Cold Brew, and both were so good. Side note - The "Golden" is just part of the name another ingredient. The coffee itself is smooth, not bitter, with a little nutty flavor, and the date syrup adds just enough sweetness without being too much. I already know the date latte is going to be a regular for me and for many others. We also tried the cashew finger, and it was delicious. We didn't want anything super sweet, and this was perfect. Just a nice, semi-sweet little pick-me-up. And for $1.50, it was an easy YES. It's right across the street from Kaiser, and I can already tell this is going to be a go-to for healthcare workers grabbing coffee before a shift. I saw a few nurses and a doctor come in while we were there during the soft opening. I really enjoy this beautiful place. Always clean and the staff is friendly. I haven't had a chance to try the food but I have had the iced date matcha, iced regular matcha with vanilla and iced mocha latte soooo yummy. They actually use real dates in the date matcha latte. I love and appreciate when establishments use real ingredients in food and drinks. I wish they had bigger sizes lol it's that good. Very trendy coffee place with minimalistic decor that is easy on the eyes. The cardamom latte was a bit too grainy for me, but the golden date latte was very good, and I would order that again. It was helpful have all desserts behind a glass case to view, but odd that none of them had identification placards, and they all looked the same. After asking several times what something was to the gal behind the counter, we chose the honey cake and the napoleon cake. Both had excellent texture, but were too sweet for me. The place was packed with no available seats when we walked in, but we were lucky to grab a table that freed up right after we ordered. We spent about 20 minutes enjoying our drinks, and saw no one else get up before we left. Many people were settled in and on their laptops, which can be a challenge for those who wants to dine in real quick. Unfortunately, this will not be the first coffee shop I suggest to anyone because the service was not the best. The employees we came across were generally standoff-ish. The worst was the cashier who did not acknowledge us when it was our turn in line to order our drinks and pay for our cakes. Instead of engaging with us, she typed in our order and immediately turned to another employee to air her grievances about somebody or about some situation. I really like the decor at Rumi Coffee, it's cute, modern, and has a lively atmosphere. It's definitely a nice place to meet up with friends and socialize, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a quiet place to study.I ordered the matcha latte, but it wasn't sweet at all. I asked for some extra syrup, but it was still not sweet enough, so I ended up having to ask for quite a bit more. The coffee also tasted very strong for my preference. If you enjoy strong coffee, you'll probably like it here. One thing that disappointed me was the wait time. We waited around 10-15 minutes for our drinks even though the place wasn't busy. I'd been waiting for them to open so was excited to see their post about their first soft opening day. The interior is very spacious and redecorated with plenty of seating, booths and light fixtures. There is a counter with lots of options for pastries and cold desserts. The staff was very friendly and she patiently explained the various options as well as gave recommendations. I ordered the honey cake, baklava, chocolate baklava and an iced matcha latte. All the sweets were very delicious. The baklava was amazing and the chocolate one might be the best baklava I've ever had. The drink took a while but it was nice to see them make it fresh. However, the matcha wasn't quite sweet enough for me and was a little bland with too much ice. Rumi Coffee is such a beautiful space! The aesthetic is so appealing, with gorgeous wood shelving, hanging plants, and tons of room to sit and relax. It's very big and spacious, which makes it feel comfortable even when it's busy. The line took us a little while to get through, but once we ordered, our drinks came out relatively quickly. Everything was also very reasonably priced, which is always a plus! I ordered the iced Golden Date Latte, and it was SO good. It wasn't overly sweet, the date flavor wasn't overpowering, and I could still taste the coffee, which is exactly how I like my lattes. My husband got the Golden Date Matcha, and he said it was great as well. We also tried a couple of their pastries, including the chocolate baklava and pistachio baklava, and both were amazing. Their pistachio pastry cream is absolutely delicious! Everyone was super attentive, friendly, and happy to answer all of our questions. I was really excited to try the place out, but I should've known better than to go to a coffee shop to get matcha. I got the orange blossom matcha and it was more milk than anything. There was no matcha flavor at all and the orange was so subtle I'm not sure if I was gaslighting myself into believing it was there. My friends got the date cold brew and cardamom chai with cold foam on both and their drinks were very good at least. Credit where credit is due, the atmosphere is very cozy and inviting unlike most of the coffee shops in town that feel more like money laundering fronts what with their inconvenient opening hours and barely their coffee. I would definitely order their pastries again as they were really good. I would especially recommend the pistachio kataifi cones because of the nice crunch and pistachio filling. The service was really nice and friendly and I didn't feel rushed even though the line was almost out the door. Was so excited to enjoy the soft opening of this place after watching it be curated over the last several weeks! This space is BEAUTIFUL, with gorgeous wood accents and curated decor, lots of seating and stunning materials. It's truly lovely. They have a nice selection of baklava and similar sweets and I really loved these little honeyed pistachio squares! The matcha was great - good quality and not too sweet. We tried the rose matcha and golden date matcha, and both were fantastic! We also got the sumac chicken sandwich, and although it was supposed to come on focaccia bread, they ran out so we enjoyed it on sourdough, which was so tasty! They should offer you a choice of bread so you can enjoy it in sourdough whenever you want! The service was so friendly and everyone was, willing to help make your experience positive. This coffee place was around the corner from my hotel, and I drove past it a few days before finally stopping in, and I am so glad I did! The ambiance of this place is awesome. It's obvious the owners put money and thought into the space: it's warm, welcoming, very nicely appointed but doesn't feel stuffy . Casually upscale in the best way. Beautiful furnishings. Tons of seating options, and different spaces to provide ample opportunities for good conversation. I ordered a cardamom latte; cardamom Is a lovely spice to season cookies and fall food with and it was delicious. Just the right amount of sweetness and the milk was perfectly frothed. I also ordered an equally delicious fruit tart. The tart pastry was a perfect size, clearly freshly made with sweet, ripe bits of fresh fruit. The pastry case was full of things that I would've liked to try if I had had a few weeks to work through all the options. The place was relatively busy, as it should be, being such a lovely spot to hang out and have a coffee at! The next time I'm back in Fresno, I plan on hanging out there, to linger over good conversation and a great cup of coffee. read more

So I'm glad they're getting their business! As for drinks, we were recommended the golden date latte. It was delicious! And I love the taste of their espresso! Sometimes you'll go to local cafés and the espresso taste a little watery or bitter. This one was just right! We also tried their chocolate baklava roll and one of their fingers I can't remember which flavor. Both were amazing as well! I would totally recommend going here if you're looking to try a new local café. There was a nook seating, plenty of tables and chairs for parties of smaller or larger sizes. I saw people just catching up and people doing homework so the ambience is great for that. And parking was a little packed, but we were able to find a spot. read more

Amazing! I had high expectations for Rumi since this is not the first business from the owners, and they met them all! Parking is a bit cluttered but it's expected with a small plaza with around 10 other local businesses sharing. Walking in the place was very open, there's a lot of places to sit inside and out (it's been a bit packed though due to the grand opening being very recent). The pastry selection is huge! From shortbread cookies, to slices of cake, to the various philo dough and katafa pastries, they're all amazing. The first time I went I got the Golden Date Latte, beautifully executed, the golden date syrup had a nice almost carmel-ly taste to it but deeper than actual carmel, the second time I went I got the Cardamom Latte (I was almost going to be stubborn and reorder the golden date one since it was really good) the cardamom latte had a great balance of spices. Overall, Coffee was good however I won't be returning again due to the service. Coffee shop was really busy so I sat at a table with 3 other people. Once the girls left, I was sitting alone at the table. A guy, I believe was the owner or a family member, asked me to move to a smaller table since "larger families" come in. I moved to a smaller table where he asked , but it was uncomfortable and not an enough space to have my computer and iPad out. Then another person got up and sat in my spot but he didn't ask them to move. I asked for the WiFi password and he told me the WiFi was down when it clearly was not. I like it here. :) When my regular coffee shop temporarily closed for a "refresh," I came to Rumi after hearing good things. I really like the coffee, pastries, and atmosphere. It's a pretty coffee shop with a diverse crowd of people. The diversity feels good, and the fact that other people are working feels nice. read more
