    Strawberry & Banana matcha
    Charlyne P.

Needed a pick me up on the way home to the Bay Area and wow oh wow glad we made the stop here. The matcha is really good quality and the prices are super reasonable compared. The banana cream is light, fluffy, and taste like real banana cream. Order via kiosk, so not really much service. There's plenty of room to sit inside and AC to beat the heat.

Popped in on an early Sunday morning. Very clean and quiet. My order came out super fast. I ordered the crème brûlée coffee. Very good coffee. They have so many drinks I'm excited to try and even more excited for the sushi box coming soon.

Very good matcha but not the best. I got my drink with 75% sweetness (50% is default) but it didn't taste that sweet. I got a double shot matcha with crème brulee top. It's not a torched top, it's powdered but still great. The matcha was good but not as strong as I hoped. The crème brulee top is very tasty but doesn't add to the matcha drink itself. Oolong tea was excellent though! I'd come back for oolong tea, but maybe not for the matcha

Plenty of parking in the plaza and plenty of seating indoor I appreciate the self-order kiosks Corn Latte - I think corn milk(?) is used so the flavor is very present haha unique and nothing I've tasted before but it's not in a bad way Probably my go-to drink if i ever visit again!.. or the Banana Matcha! GF liked her Strawberry Lychee refresher and appreciate the sugar levels can be adjusted

When Okome first opened, they opened later in the day. They listened to their customers and changed their hours to allow customers who work earlier in the day, to enjoy a cup of great matcha before heading to work. I love this matcha place as the matcha is delicious and you can adjust sugar levels. So many options from just fruit drinks, to matcha, and coffee. The place reminded me of a small Japanese restaurant with the shades inside and bamboo decor. I would come back and try multiple other items.

I might have found the best matcha in Central Valley. I found about this place in TikTok so I had to go check it out. There is plenty of parking in the front. There are signs in front of the store advertising their upcoming sushi boxes which I'm excited about. They have a huge light up menu. You order from the kiosk. Got the brown sugar matcha and mango matcha. I like that there was an option to put double matcha because I love matcha. The second time I been here, I got the Epinspanner matcha ($7.50) and the Kyoto Matcha Latte ($6.95). The place is very cutely decorated and pretty big with many tables and chairs. I think there's even another room where it extends out but it was closed for now. We got our drinks fairly quick. The matcha tasted so good. You can taste the quality of it. My mango was a little sweet but at initial taste but it tasted better after a while. And the brown sugar blends perfect with the matcha. The cute little spoons give the drinks an esthetic look. I would definitely cone back.

I went here with my family for coffee and had their banana pudding coffee with 0 sugar and tiramisu cream coffee. Both were looking so good and tasting very good. I always drink americano without any sugar, and decided to order banana pudding with 0 sugar as well, and that was a very great decision cause the pudding on top was already making the coffee too sweet, so they combine each other. Lots of Interior seating available, even for people with strollers. The ordering is made so easy, there is no stuff available for orders, but ordering kiosks are self explanatory and with clear pictures and details.

Came to try the creme brulee coffee since I've been on the hunt for Vietnamese egg coffee. This was the closest I've found. Drink was tasty with a soft custard on top and the coffee was nice and strong similar to a Vietnamese coffee. Pricy but worth it. Location is far from me; otherwise I could go more often. Self service offer kiosk and they call out the order number or name when ready at the pick up window. Seats were pretty full when I went on an a Sunday early afternoon. Fortunately not too loud.

I've visited quite a few times and tried some new sips and treats. Matcha coconut is literally a 10/1000000 OMG Matcha yuzu tea 8/10 so fresh and citrusy Strawberry lemonade 8/10 Creme brûlée coffee 9/10 Banana Creme matcha 10/1000 Tiramisu coconut cup 7/10 was tasty but will try a new flavor next time I love coming here. Quick service and inside is nice to hang while you wait or enjoy your treats. I'll be back again and again!

I've only ever visited Okome during opening hours, so I haven't experienced any long wait times or traffic. Today I tried the Banana Cream Matcha and it was super delicious with a really authentic, rich banana flavor. Staff is attentive and friendly. A lot of space to study or have a Matcha date I honestly have no complaints :D

This might be my top matcha spot. With the exception of Tuesday, they open quite early, so they are a great option for an early caffeine hit. The drinks are a bit slower to make earlier in the morning since there are not as many workers, but they are quite efficient during lunch and dinner. The drinks have stellar matcha quality, and the toppings are extremely rich. The baseline sugar level is lower than 100% and the toppings lean on the sweeter side, so the balance is perfect. Even without ice adjustments, the base drink is not heavily iced, so it does not get too diluted. *Creme Brulee Matcha: comes with an adorable spoon to mix in the thick layer of cream. Each top is perfectly torched, and the creme brulee layer is some of the creamiest I have had. This tends to be a bit sweeter than their other options, so I would reduce the sugar level even further. *Strawberry Matcha: sweet and tart strawberry puree pairs so well with the earthy matcha. This offers the perfect amount of fruitiness and natural sweetness. *Coconut Jelly: the coconut jelly base comes with a variety of fruit jam. The coconut jelly itself was rather nutty and milky, but not too sweet on its own. As a result, most of the flavor came from the choice of fruit. I wish the fruit layer were a bit thicker, as the ratio of jelly to fruit was off. This place is such a gem for Fresno and I have to stop by whenever I am in the area. If I lived any closer, I would probably be their number one returning customer.

One of the best coffee and matcha places here in Fresno! The service is usually very quick, especially with the mobile kiosks out for ordering. There's lots of places to sit and work at if you wanted! I am excited to see what they do with the space since it is a larger shop. They mentioned sushi boxes were coming so I can't wait for those to come through or even some small bites/snacks.

    Faye V.

Matcha with creme brulee top was delicious. I can see why they provide spoons just for the cream top. Matcha was not too sweet and was very smooth. Also tried their coffee and it was also amazing as well as their mango drink. Tried different flavors and each one was impressive. Would definitely come back. You order from an iPad for self order but workers were helpful for any questions. A good cafe to sit and catch up with friends or study.

Whether you're craving sushi, teriyaki, or ramen, they really have something for everyone. The sushi and sashimi are incredibly fresh -- honestly some of the freshest fish we've had at any sushi restaurant. It tastes like the chef went out and caught it that morning. The 14-piece sashimi platter with a couple of rolls was more than enough for two people, and everything was excellent quality. The ramen is also fantastic, but fair warning: the bowls are HUGE, so definitely come hungry. Their garlic edamame is absolutely addictive, and we really enjoyed the poke in the seaweed poke salad, though the dish does lean very heavily on the seaweed, so just keep that in mind before ordering. Cassidy is new to the restaurant and waited on us. an Shewas wonderful -- super friendly, attentive, patient, and just genuinely great service all around. The only downside was the new menu design. The font is extremely tiny, printed on a small laminated sheet, and honestly very difficult to read. Hopefully they make the text larger in the future because the food itself is outstanding. Overall, highly recommend Shobu if you're looking for fresh sushi, excellent sashimi, hearty ramen, and great service.

Known for its customizable ramen bowls with flavorful broths and a wide variety of toppings, as well as, other menu items like rice bowls, bentos, and dumplings, Tsuchiya Ramen definitely lived up to it's almost 5 star Yelp reviews. The waitress was friendly and the food came out fairly quickly once our order was taken ~ less than 10 mins for sure! I ordered the spicy miso ramen ($17.99) with a sweet corn side (+$1.50) and complimentary topping of the fried garlic. The hakata (thin style noodles) were perfectly cooked, with a lil al dente bit to them. It had all the trimmings that I like ~ green onion, chashu, jammy egg, crunchy wood ear mushrooms, naruto fish cake, marinated bamboo, and nori. The broth was authentic, flavored with such depth. You can really taste the slow-cooked, miso quality in it. I loved the fried garlicky taste too! It was the right level of spice, I didn't even need to add any chili oil, like I usually do. My picky daughter opt'd for the "make your own ramen" option (starting at $12.99) ~ getting the same hakata thin noodle with tonkatsu broth, chashu (+$3.25), fried tofu (+$2.50), and freebie toppings of nori, sesame seeds & fried garlic. My son ordered the OG tonkatsu ramen w/ extra marinated bamboo (+$2) on the side. Lastly, the hubs wanted to eat lighter & healthier, so he opt'd for the teriyaki chicken rice bowl. Everyone loved their meal pick. Dare I say..I even think it ranks better than some of the ramen joints in the OC. Who knew Fresno was poppin' in the foodie dept? Service/ ambiance: Came here on a Thursday around 8 to be greeted by a 45min. Wait--we stuck around. The place was super packed, and because the windows had the blinds down with art work; it felt a bit claustrophobic and overwhelming. We got an alert that our table was ready and checked-in. The hostess then left us, and waved us down to signal where we were sitting (they could've told us to follow them lol) The waitress was nice, but seemed a bit scattered. Automatically asked what we wanted, but we had never been here before, so wasn't sure how it all worked (they never explained). The walls of our booth were littered with scrape marks and chipped paint. The booth had no cushion whatsoever, making it extremely difficult to get comfortable (ok...there's a cushion, but it's flat). The table was the most annoying part. No matter if you scoot it more towards you or the other side there still so much space. I'm basically sitting at the edge of my seat trying to eat because of the distance--if you're a bit heftier on the stomach--it's perfect. (Random observation: the bathroom looks nice, but not well kept. There's graffiti and cravings all over, which makes me think I'm in the bathroom of a dive bar) Food: As I mentioned I was craving sushi--their selection was lack luster. Almost everything had the same ingredients. The salmon sashimi looked pale and had no color. There were some pieces that were sliced so thin you could basically see through it. I ordered two rolls for my daughter (crazy roll & snow mountain)--both were lacking flavor. The presentation for them was as if they didn't care or even try? Every time I picked one up it would fall apart. The Hibachi steak was cold and dry. Shot ribs were just lathered in sauce (not my preference), and mostly came with little meat and all bone. I'd only come back if the majority of people I'm with want to go, but I wouldn't suggest it myself. The service felt rushed. Food could have been presented/ prepared better. Space could've opened easily by letting us see out the windows and not feel so packed like a can of sardines, and could definitely use some touch up paint and better cushions. It could've been an off night, but this is what I experienced.

One word of advice: if you're planning to join the waitlist, I recommend calling ahead for a more accurate wait time. The website initially showed no one ahead of us, but after joining the waitlist it indicated several parties were waiting. When we arrived, we were told the wait would be about 45 minutes, which wasn't ideal with a couple of hungry kids. Thankfully, we were seated within about 10 minutes. Our server, Patrick, was fantastic! He provided excellent customer service, took the time to explain the sushi rolls, helped us navigate the kids' menu, and was attentive throughout our meal. Patrick, thank you for helping make my mom's birthday dinner so memorable. Khasey was our chef, and the food was absolutely delicious. He made sure we had every sauce we asked for. The teppanyaki experience for the children was engaging and fun. They excel at producing tender, juicy proteins paired with excellent in-house sauces, and their menu offers an impressive variety of options, including chicken, beef, pork, salmon, shrimp, fish, and tofu. I have tried their three most popular choices: chicken katsu, grilled chicken, and beef tri-tip. The chicken katsu features a light, airy, and perfectly crisp panko crust that gives way to incredibly tender, juicy, and flavorful meat. The grilled chicken is equally impressive, cooked to succulent perfection and coated in a teriyaki sauce that strikes a near-ideal balance of savory umami, gentle sweetness, tanginess, and the aromatic warmth of garlic and ginger. In addition to traditional gyudon-style thinly sliced beef, Kenji's stands out by offering premium cuts such as beef tri-tip and steak. This may be the only teriyaki house in Fresno I have visited that uses heavily marbled, higher-quality beef. The tri-tip bowl delivers a harmonious balance of bold, rich flavors. The meat is smoky, juicy, and remarkably tender, while the teriyaki sauce enhances it with layered sweet and savory notes rather than overpowering it. A major reason Kenji's shines is that all sauces are made fresh in-house daily. The difference is unmistakable. The flavor, texture, and overall quality far surpass those of mass-produced sauces filled with artificial additives. Their teriyaki sauce is vibrant and aromatic, with garlic and ginger at the forefront. It is not overly sweet or thick, has a subtle hint of spice, and coats the meats beautifully without masking their natural flavors. The teriyaki rice bowls themselves are as good as it gets. The proteins are generously portioned and clearly the centerpiece, while the vegetables are fresh, crunchy, and vibrantly colored. The rice is fluffy and comforting, providing the perfect base to balance the richness of the meats and sauce. Each bowl is hearty, well-proportioned, visually appealing, and deeply satisfying. To top it off, the counter service is consistently friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable when it comes to recommendations. Orders come out impressively fast, making Kenji's Teriyaki Grill an easy go-to for a high-quality, reliably comforting meal.

IMHO, the California Roll did not seem freshly made and came with a tiny cup of ginger with a pea sized wasabi. So, the California Roll was ok. The chicken was diced up in 1"to 1/2" cubes and was not moist at all. Rather, it was dry. Bad choice on my part. The rice was plain with pieces of bacon mixed with you grocery style frozen peas, carrots, corn and green bean combo. It tasted good because how can you ruin fried rice when you add extra oil to the plate. Not my most highly recommended place. I would have rather gone to Panda Express and paid about $12 for a tastier plate. The $27 I paid for the 2 items was just....too much! Especially for a primarily take joint:
